  1. yeah no probz Charmaine Ohh, and +1 for the above
  2. yeah bad day at the office can do that to you
  3. well I'm never catching public transport again!! Canadian psycho beheads fellow bus traveller
  4. hey fishpaste, +1 for Shaun no doubt. In regards to N1 oil pumps, remember one thing; everything in life has a cause and effect. If your prepared to take the head off and install a restrictor, maybe modify the sump, consider a catch can, maybe baffles in your rocker cover, and are prepared pay the massive $$ for an N1 pump, do it by all means. You need to decide what the car will be used for and what sort of power are you putting out. I personally feel a new standard oil pump for a street car is fine. Have you hooked up a decent oil pressure gauge to see what its putting out......low pressure doesn't always point to bad oil pump! ie. you can run a new standard pump in a tight engine (low km or recon motor) and have higher pressure than a loose engine (worn out motor) running a new N1 pump. Amazing how many people blame low oil pressure on oil pumps when a crank grind and new brgs would in some cases fix the problem. The gallery restrictor on the top of the block will even add a couple psi to your oil pressure but keep in mind (from my limited knowledge of RB engines) volume is more important than pressure for normal street use.........at high rpm, most pumps will show reasonable oil pressure anyway. I had a quick read of the thread that Jess put a link to on the previous page (where the N1 oil pump failed) and from the little I saw in the pics, that guy has issues other than the oil pump. One day when I do a full rebuild and have the opportunity to do other internal mods, I will definitely consider an N1 oil pump........right now I just can't justify all the $$ for the cost of the pump and labour to install......not to mention that it will throw more oil into your rocker covers if you don't attend to the other mods that I mentioned. I didn't realize that a new oil pump was part of the 100K service??
  5. yeah I think you missed my 2 orders Adrain
  6. yeah at the end of the day you don't really need either pump but for the same reason you're going for a better Belt (ie. few $$ more) you are better off with the N1 waterpump. On the other hand the N1 oil pump costs an extra 3 arms & 4 legs, lol........and with the overhead oiling issues that RB's are renown for, why would you want to exacerbate the problem. Maybe your mechanics are not very familiar with RB engines? EDIT: Gates or Nismo are in the same league.....both have kevlar in them. Also, waterpumps will give up the ghost under normal circumstances way before oil pumps.
  7. haha, lol.......and I could lose my licence at the same time
  8. try Joelo for gates timing belts but I wouldn't waste your money on an N1 oil pump
  9. ohhh maaan!! I'm out of black ink and I'm 1/2 way through printing a report. Anyone have a T0491 Epson cartridge for an RX650 that they can send through the email
  10. dont sweat it too much Ben.....I'm not
  11. hahaha, lol.......I didn't need to read past the 1st line to know you were either joking or had a rough day at work
  12. no probz bud, I'll put it aside for you and if I'm not on the bike tomorrow night I'll bring it to Villis......will you be there at 7pm? Just fix me up when you can, I'm not that desperate for the cash at the moment if you don't have it yet.
  13. Close....other way around actually. N1 pumps have less but larger fins. They don't suffer cavitation issues at high rpm and apparently flow better at lower rpm due to the bigger impellar with less fins. Looks pretty good Dale....gotta be happy to be within 2-3 psi
  14. I've got 1x N1 waterpump left over from the group buy if you or anyone is interested. $260
  15. Either way sounds like fun Shaun
  16. No we dont..... hahaha.....J/K
  17. You're a busy boy Ryan.....give us a hoy when you get some free time up your sleeve bud so we can have a crack at mine.
  18. I actually thought about that Dan but he wants his own identity............at 10 years old, lol
  19. ben this talk about food is making my mouth water. Before I leave here to get myself a snack, I definitely think we should go the below option.
  20. yeah the Canon 350D is one of the smallest DSLR's on the market. Pentax make an SLR about 4mm smaller but they're crap in comparisson.
  21. I'm looking at selling my Canon 350D if interested Luke....same camera that Daniel (Kalel) uses. I think this is a great idea Dan but I'd think twice about a soccer ball between cars though......with all the car action you won't have time for that anyway.
  22. Here's order number 2 guys: hoodie/jacket:......................jacket username/real name:............Daniel name in caps or not:..............1st letter caps....not the rest "as above" colour:..................................black size:.....................................Kidz "10" how many:............................1 I can give you the cash at Villis for this as well.
  23. haha, yeah I think that idea has been shelved temporarily. I was gonna back up the 300 tyre over his head Hey Amanda......tell him if he messes with you, he messes with the whole SAU family........he may wake up with a horses head next to him one day
  24. Ok, where do we start. Your cams have 112deg of separation from IN to EX lobe centres which does not give you the actual overlap figure (can vary depending on lift & lobe profile). I made a mistake in calculation in the earlier post and said you had 50deg overlap when its actually more like 40deg (I based it on a 25/65 grind rather than a 20/65). Like I said earlier, when you increase duration you generally increase overlap so normally I would suggest you pull the IN & EX lobes further apart with gears and actually consider a figure of around 116deg of separation, but in your case I probably wouldn't bother if you're already getting good low down flexibilty. Not unusual although I expected that you would've pulled a little more compression out of the cylinders than you actually did, so its not too bad.........as for the analyzer, send it to a shrink to get analyzed . On the note of compression, so many peeps opt for thicker head gasket shims in order to be able to run higher boosts but they forget you can do it with cams. So when they do cams and thicker head gasket at the same time, they wonder why they've lost so much compression. A little bit of compression is what makes the RB's so nimble so you don't want to dial out too much. Yeah I agree, you've got a good street grind there with a smidge under 9mm lift which is the main determining factor for what springs and retainers you run, so your current springs (if in good order) will be fine. Definitely need to use different springs once you go over 10mm of valve lift. Good thing about RB's is 1:1 ratio unlike other engines that have to factor in extending rocker ratios as well. Hmmm, thats a tuffie. I'm assuming 15:1 AFR's is at idle only and even thats abit lean, should be around 14:1 but I dont think that really matters too much. I need to see your graphs to see what the rest of you AFR's are doing. The guy may have pulled a fair whack of fuel out of the map which could explain the good economy.....hope its not running too lean I wouldn't mess with the ignition map yet until you determine what yo want to do with the gears. Pulling out abit of valve timing will alow you to advance the ignition a bit more without the extra fear of detonation.....so you gain a bit more power and bring it back where its a bit more useable at the same time. Pretty much as I said above, but at the end of the day its all about how it feels on the road. I'd start with about 4 degrees reatard at the crank (2 lines) on the EX cam gear and see how it looks on the dyno. Just did a search.......Check out SK's thread that probably explains it better than me....I'm definitely no RB guru but he is. Adj Camshaft Pulley
  25. Thanks for that Damo, I forgot that you had the actual measurements on the 1st page....so here goes: hoodie/jacket:......................hoodie username/real name:............SLED name in caps or not:..............caps as above colour:..................................black size:.....................................XL how many:............................1 I can give you guys cash at Villis or EFT tonight..........whichever you prefer
