yeah I'm starting to appreciate the EVO's more & more as I see them going around Malalla and the hill climbs.......definitely couldn't go wrong there for that sort of money.......a 32GTR would be my 1st choice naturally but at that price you'll be spending alot more on it me thinks, not to mention that EVO's tend to go under the radar literally. Probably a question for Kristian though; in the same way the '99 & '00 WRX and the 32GTR are cult cars, was there a particular model EVO that has a similar tag......obviously Tommy Makinen 6.5 comes to mind.....any EVO experts out there?

and under the current economic status of this country, me thinks that there are no funds for the purchase of hoon's vehicles. If they did pass such a legislation, there would have to be a law across the land without discrimination, ie. if they purchase a $1000 shitbox and crush it then they have to be prepared to purchse an R35 and do the same thing......hence where the real problems begin and why this whole thread (apart from some healthy discussion) is really pointless..........but carry on regardless. Good point Craig, but I think you'll find that as little as 20 years ago, no teenager drove a high powered turbo car and as such could out drive an EH Holden or similar. Today we have teens driving cars that they clearly can't handle even 1/2 of its power which is why the heat has been turned up so much on youth driving and consequently branded it with the name Hoon. Hoons have been around since James Dean pranged the Porsche but they were known as Rebels in those days.....no difference, its just a name that peeps are hung up about. Pull your head in Rhys and people will take you alot more seriously....you could've said all that without resorting to name calling. Everyone else on here seems to be able to contain themselves......suggest you do the same or argue elsewhere please.

yeah good point. and Rok, I know what you're saying mate but if there was finance on a vehicle, the state govt would in effect have to buy the thing from the actual owner 1st (finance institution) before crushing it.......and me thinks that if they did that, they would sell it instead to recoup costs. Finance contracts on vehicles in this country are possibly different from the US as they in effect have ownership of title until the last cent is paid.

they can review car crushing all they like.....won't happen in this country. They'll only ever be able to impound. If there is finance on the car, under current legislation the car belongs to the company with the financial interest, so I don't know how they'll ever get around that one.
