  1. That's a beautiful piece of machinery there Dale.....that's a good price too IMO. I've got the updated version of that engine in my truck but with 2 snails hanging off it.

yeah, like I say to my mates, there are 2 teams at the top and 2 at the bottom that are very consistent and everyone in between suffers from schizophrenia this year (ie. you don't know which side they're gonna field on the day).

Thanks but I think my job was relatively easy compared to Ruby's effort
  7. don't know what you mean Dave.......fixored for you . Love everything about that Beemer!! And yes, this could be a good thread if the chit chat is kept to a minimum......me included!
  8. haha, ole Anthony Chucky Norris is a good lad....I reckon Adelaide Engine was his very 1st job, when he was just a snotty nosed little kid. Has he kissed and made up with his brother yet?
  9. ah OK, going by what the cop asked your Dad, I thought he had a Hog
  10. sounds like it's out in the sticks Karl....whats the speed limit in the area?
  11. Hey Cara Lynette Williams's (organizer of the show) husband used to work for my father-in-law when he was a boss at the Wallaroo council. I had a chat to her and told her I'd only bring the bike up if the weather was good so she's made an exception for a last minute entry. Let me know if this stuffs you around. Cheers
  12. you 2 are sad puppies!
  13. what sort of bike Jarrad....any pics? If so, put them up in Wasteland for us.
  14. LOL Karl, I hope that was on your bike and not in a car......that way there's more of a chance that only you get killed and not some innocent kid.
  15. OK folks, with the final results accounted for and after much deliberation, I’d like to present the first SAU-SA Club, Board of Committee Members. Without going into too much detail, I polled outright for 2 positions but unfortunately can’t (for obvious reasons) fulfil both positions. I’ve therefore taken into consideration all votes and who I agree would better represent the two positions then taken a step back. In consideration of the remaining votes and by unanimous decision by the new President and Secretary, I’ve accepted the offer of another position in the committee. Here is the 1st SAU-SA Club Board: Shane (RBWARE) - President Shane has previous club experience, public recognition, knowledge of the motorsport industry and the persona that the club needs if it is to get off the ground successfully. Pete (SLED) - Vice President Ruby (RubyRS4) - Secretary This is a hard position to fill and a very important one. It’s a “no brainer” that without all the very hard work that Ruby has put into getting this thing off the ground (not to mention all the rubbish that he’s had to put up with), that he would be perfect for this role and to be honest, if he didn’t accept this position, we’d be scratching our heads right now. Nene (Nene260RS) - Treasurer Nene is a popular choice for this position. Working in a bank makes this a “no brainer” as well. Although Nene will have her hands full with a new arrival in a few months, Ruby and others have offered their full support behind her. Cara (Miss34) - Events Coordinator Cara was an outright vote getter for this position obviously by the fact that she has the runs on the board with her organizational skills and enthusiasm to make things happen. Damo (Damo-R34) - Web Design/Editor Damo has shown enthusiasm and has the resources that he can pull from to fulfil this position well. The fact that he has shown eagerness, a determination to be involved and maturity beyond his years, tells me that he’ll be an asset.
  16. I know drive-ins that you wouldn't remember: Hiline - Goodwood Rd, Panorama Parkline - Marion Rd, Mitchell Park and maybe even, Metro Twin - Oaklands Park (can't remember the name) - West Beach
  17. lol at all the shotgunning for secure parking. If I do bring the bike up and there's no room left, I'll tow all your cars outta there with the truck!!
  18. Firstly, Ryan, no need for that response towards Damo mate.......I read his post and it doesn't sound like he's having a go. Setup is crucial ie. Andrew (Blue32) is a classic example of a response monster with 400awkw.....8cm turbos play a big role. I've experienced other rides with slightly less power ie. 370awkw and they were lag monsters. Dale was referring to an engine running out of breath with stock cams but having said that, even though stock cams won't give you the max potential as far as numbers and top end performance go, they will maintain the nimbleness and low end response that RB's are renown for. Once you start to increase durations and overlap, you always shift power up the rev range so Cara needs to decide what sort of ride she wants. Don't get me wrong, you can have big cams, then go and play with valve timing to bring useable power back down again by decreasing the lobe overlap but remember that you're also playing with cylinder pressure now which also affects everyting from nimbleness to detonation. EDIT: Can also be said, that's why there are so many variables between tuners, ie. different combinations of AFR's vs valve & ignition timing.....rarely will you find any 2 tuners that tune the same way, so find a good one and stick with him.
  19. no hurry Carl....appreciate it
  20. anyone got an external DVD drive I can borrow to install Office on my laptop......the internal one is playing up on this particular disc but the disc is fine on other PC's. Funny thing is, the laptop plays other discs fine.
  21. problem is, 500rwk from a 2.5 litre (turbo) will be totally gutless on the street and a stock standard RB25 will blow you away at the lights It'll be an absolute pig to drive around town and will be gutless up until 5000rpm........from there it's wheel spin city all the way to 9000rpm and lots of broken bits to sweep up behind you unfortunately
  22. that's fine Andrew.....1.30pm it is
  23. Ahh, so you'll be going up Sunday then Shane......I think most are leaving Sat arvo and staying the night which is why I asked why not Sat moring. EDIT: Just noticed that you did already say Sunday
  24. ahh OK. If weather permits I was thinking I'd trailer the bike up for a bit of a blast thru the Copper Triangle so the time I leave will probably depend on that.......where would I leave the thing at night though??
  25. just a question (may have already been discussed earlier) but is there a reason why there's no morning departure, ie. make a day of it?
