just spotted my cat eyeing off the big dish in Luke ENR34's rims at the front of my place while he was picking up some more goodies for his new build.......unfortunately the cat emptied his whole bladder in the dish without spilling a drop

Luke I wouldn't even bother trying to boot off it again, you might really stuff it. Pull it out and stick it into a machine that already has a boot drive and operating system in it then drag files across.

Karl, I personally don't mind threads like Jokes & Computer Jargon, it's just some of the other crap that gets started that leaves me very cold and really wastes my time. A good example of a recent thread (where I contemplated giving about 10 members a holiday) was that 9 page effort (all in one day) with 100 IBTL's and other crap in it.....I spent over 1 hour reading thru immature dribble, time I could've spent with my kids. So how do we handle the crap threads and who calls the shots as to what's crap and what isn't........someone's rubbish can be someone elses gold, so I'd be dammed if I deleted and dammed if I didn't......how do you please everybody??

I nearly said something yesterday in Damo's defence (and I know that it's all said with a tongue in cheek manner) but I bit my lip. If SAU had more members like him (and I'm coming purely from a Mod's perspective), this place would be alot more enjoyable and less stressfull for all of us. 9 times out of 10 he stays on topic (having said that, we all stray), he doesn't go out of his way to be a smartass or stir the hornet's nest (unlike a couple I could mention) and yet with his enormous post count I don't recall ever having the need to steer him straight over any issue.

Dave, like Dale & Ben, you also make a good point. As I said to Dale, it's something that you would have to put to Christian (Prank) and get his thoughts on it. And yes, as you and Dale have stated, we would definitely need another couple of Mods........any suggestions as to who is capable of diplomacy yet not backward in using a stick when warranted?!

Ben you've made half a point and have made it well. All I can say (can't speak for the other Mods) is that certain older (non car related) threads will run their term and will then be appropriately locked or continued in Wasteland.

I get what you're saying Dale but it would be more crap to moderate, hence from where we stand, the wasteland thread is more than enough. To create a subforum as you've mentioned would be something that Christian (aka Prank) would have to establish. I know Andrew may come across as tough occasionally but I have to back him in what he's trying to achieve, ie not taking any ideas from ns in the way they do things and remaining true to the original concept and idea behind this forum.

One of the threads you may be referring to might be Amanda's pregnancy thread, yeah?! This thread was started well before the tougher rules were enforced and to shut that down now when she's ready to give birth would be plain heartless. Karl, I have met you on the bikes one night and you seemed a together kind of a bloke but lately I've noticed that you only post when you have something negative to say.
