well I just got off the phone with Shannons and turned a possible negative post into a positive one. I had both the bike and the GTR insured with them for a certain value and the policy has just come up for renewal with a slight increase in premium over last year for both vehicles...(typical). I rang them to remove the GTR from the policy (due to selling it last week) and they said "fine, we'll send you out an amended policy"......problem is, they slugged me another $80 on top of the increased premium purely because it's gone back to a one vehicle policy. Now I had the bike insured with them at a discounted rate before I added the GTR in 2007, yet when I added the GTR, I didn't receive a further discount because the bike's premium was already discounted, so in effect now they've gone ahead and taken the initial discount away by increasing the bike's premium twice in the last 12 mths....Not happy Jan . However, after explaining the situation to one of the consultant's team leaders, they removed the extra $80 and wished me all the best, so in my books they are still OK.........how many other insurance companies can you negotiate with other than when they've made a mistake or when first establishing a new policy?
-
sounds like a plan EDIT: I just edited & deleted about a dozen posts when I probably should've just shut this thing down............I'm too busy for this
-
lol, you're a champ for a good cause Lukey Boy.......................................even if you did look ridiculous, now go and wash that eye make up!
-
OK, my hand is hovering over the lock button........the last thing we need right now is Nathan in here firing people up........take a deep breathe Nath

well you ask a very interesting question, what is the point of it! There are some fickle people in this world that get off on seeing only the negatives in life & in people then for a chance of 15 minutes of fame, are too dumb to see past their noses and end up fighting court battles & eventually bankruptcy........was it really worth your brief claim to fame?! Whoever you are mate, you sound more like a trouble maker than a car enthusiast and as this is a car forum, unless you can contribute in that department in any way, you're not welcome in here.

I'm in 2 minds about this one On one hand I see Steve's point in that if the aforementioned details as to how it happened are correct, then he paid a severe price for his stupidity & his family & friends are now suffering from it........and only big plus from all of this is that no innocent by-stander was taken down as well. On the other hand, I see Ben's point of view and no matter how screwed up the circumstances were at the time, compassion for the guy's family & friends should be paramount right now (Steve, even Jesus showed compassion to those that had either stumbled or fallen).........based on that, I won't shut this down yet unless it gets silly in here.

lol, only cause you haven't tried mine yet & washed them down with one of my famous lattes (with freshly ground arabica beans)! Group Buy on my Buttermilks!
-
well, maybe not for that reason alone, but I'm sure that was one of the reasons........what else was it set up for other than unsubstantiated slagging?! think very hard before you type!

Damo's right bud. If you speak to suspension gurus like SydneyKid etc, they'll steer you towards 5kg or 6kg fronts and 4kg or 5kg rears with aftermarket adjustable sway bars for track work. Your tyres are already going to give you a harsh ride due to the profile. Even on the track, the whole idea is to stop the body roll hence the bigger (adjustable) sway bars. The Japs love to put 8 to 12 kg springs on their cars which is fine if you have the glass tracks of Tsukuba etc......problem is, our tracks aren't the best in the world and hitting a slight ripple in the bitumen on a bend or whilst braking at the end of a long straight may see you come unstuck. I was actually having a similar conversation with Andrew (Blue32) at my place on the weekend where people spend huge money on big dyno numbers to go faster around Malalla yet a properly setup Porsche with alot less power can still embarras some Skylines........even having the biggest brakes on the track would be next to useless if there's no rubber making contact with the black stuff. EDIT: If you ever get a chance, place a Bilstein shock alongside a well know Jap shock and have a look at the difference in valve bodies.....you'll be surprised at how good the European stuff is. Another thing that I fail to understand, Bilstein have 9 degrees of adjustment as opposed to some manufactures that offer 16 or even 32......what are you (the average guy) gonna do with 32 settings?.......can you really tell the difference between setting number 23 & 24, LOL?!

lol, it is a small world. Pacey has recently left the starrys after a long stint in the middle east on a special assignment....haven't seen him around for a couple of mths though
-
lol, my last words to him were, "I hope I don't read about you on the News"! With all the spottings in the last 24 hours, I'm guessing he's doing some serious driving. I'd hate the fella to clean it up or bring on the attention of the law with a defect in the same week he buys it!
-
spotted Leeman at my joint earlier today along with his better half & 1 yr old bub.......had a quiet beer with the fella .......love the rims on his very clean 34
-
cut it out guys

Dave is correct, only prob is trying to find an original GTR Cat cause all the ones you see that are complianced and stock standard have an aftermarket crappy one on them. Like Dave said, go to an import house that does compliancing and start sifting thru their bins like a homeless person.
-
ahh you're a funny boy Darren....don't think I would stand much of a chance against your beast unfortunately. Shame I forgot about this event....should've said something earlier bud. Anyway goodluck & hope you do well..........I'm guessing Joel will come out for a look.

I'm never going to finish this latest report........it'll probably finish me off, lol Stuff it, I'm off to bed for a couple of hours then it all starts again!!

spotted my ole buddy Krishy on O'Connell Street, Nth Adelaide yesterday morning with a passenger.........hey buddy boy
-
you made a blatant threat in a public forum bud.....keep it to PM if you know the dude (or send me around to his place)
-
Hey Jess ........yeah stayed in Adelaide and went to a nice kid that works at the RAAF Depending on the job I'm on, I can do rego checks either via workcover or thru crown solicitors.....but no randoms. Heck, I can drag out your private medical records with a section 110 if necessary now yoo speaky ma language what would you charge me to replace rear springs & shocks and front coilovers in a 200series Landcruiser (I'll supply the parts)..........if it's too much, I may contemplate doing it myself but I don't feel like crawling under 3 tonne that's suspended in mid air, lol
-
sorry, but you've been around long enough to know there's a WTB section If we let one get away with it we'll be inundated by these threads Thread Locked
