  1. This is a very good buy, the mods alone are almost worth more than the car. A very good setup
  2. For me i would.. Head: Port and polish 260' Cams with good lift Adjustable cam gears (and dialled in properly) Bottom End: 9.0:1 Compression Forged Pistons Forged Rods Treated crank Turbos: HKS 2530 or Garret 2860 -5's With 1.6-1.9 Bar boost I would expect 400kw atw easily. Im running 2530's with Tomei 260s making 360kw atw on 1.3bar, stock bottom end and no head work. I get full boost around 3,800rpm.
  3. Thats 100hp overall, going GTRS(or -10) compared to 2530(or -5) will come onto full boost later and therefore be a laggier. If you dont mind sacrificing a bit of bottom end power/driveability and a more narrow powerband, then go for the -10's Im using HKS 2530's with standard bottom end making 360kw atw on 1.3bar and 300kw atw on 1bar, that is plenty of power for the street. I would never go GTRS or -10 on a street car... My 2 cents
  4. Hypertune intake manifold and single throttle body installed, retuned and now making 360kw at 18psi. Still stock bottom end
  5. Item: Garrett GT3076R Externally Wastegated 550HP Rated Turbo Age: Purchased 18 months ago approx Condition: Still New Price: $1400 To Fit: (What car) And turbo car, good upgrade for RB engines Location: Sydney Contact: Me via PM . All PMs will be replied to ASAP Comments: Includes "ported shroud" insert. T3 Exhaust Flange. 0.82 A/R.
  6. Go for a GT35-66R with 0.82 rear. It is a GT35 with T04Z compressor wheel. It has a 66mm inducer compared to 61mm on the compressor side. Essentialy it is a "high-flow" GT35, that will be more responsive than a T04Z and make similar top end. I know GCG does them, not sure who else does.
  7. they are OK. you will also need : tuneable ECU, injectors, fuel pump, exhaust, upgraded intercooler/front mount plus labour/fabrication work
  8. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Rb...yno-t55845.html Plenty of ideas here
  9. Gotta love the backyard/bush mechanic look
  10. Hmmm possibly Trust or HKS would have something to suit from one of their T51R or T88 type single turbo kits using dual AFM. Most likely Trust/Greddy would be your best bet.
  11. If it is for 1.6 and you want Trust brand, I would go a Trust TD05-16G or TD05 "Big 16G" from an Evo 1-3, they are good for 200kw atw in an Evo 1-3 with very good powerband. A TD06-20G is still gonna be fairly laggy on a 1.6. I would also forget about doing a 25G on a 1.6, they are still laggy on a 2 litre.. The Evo TD05-16G is essentially a Trust turbo also, as Trust use all Mitsubishi parts for their turbos. Another good option would be a T28 from an S15 if you want good response/power. Both of those turbos can be found for under $500 2nd hand in good condition, which would be a much better for your application. Or even a Twin scroll turbo from an Evo 4-9. They are also a TD05 Big 16G, but twin scroll and slightly more powerful, with Evo 9 being the biggest of all the stock Evo turbos.
  12. Wheels are on hold. Sold pending payment. Thanks for your interest guys
  13. Could be the problem. Another good way to see if it is an intake leak is to use a smoke machine. If you see smoke leaking from somewhere, there is your problem
  14. Yeah, HKS would be better than standard of course. But the Tomei's even better ..Tomei's would give a greater peak power/torque throughout the rev-range compared to a similar duration HKS cam i think. (Which is the reason most do a cam upgrade) What are the specs of the HKS cams you were looking at? Durations/lift specs? Think about what your end result/goal of your car is, and whats gonna work better for you in the long run. If your on a tight budget, then there may be other areas of your car you can upgrade and get better value for $$$ per KW Someone on the forum may have used the same HKS cams in their car, hopefully they will find this post and give an opinion from experience
  15. The HKS cams dont have enough lift in my opinion. You would get better results with the Tomei's. Better to spend the money right the first time. I think its been proven many times that Tomei Poncams are the best cam solution for GTR. They run the most lift of all the "drop-in" type cams which i think is important when choosing cams. More lift equals more air to breathe. If you just wanna shift your powerband earlier, get a set of cam wheels fitted and dialled in. This will bring power on earlier, but at the expense of top end power dropping off earlier.
  16. I think the software my tuner uses is called "FC Pro" or something similar. Its all in english. 250km's a tank is not good. Is the 02 sensor hooked up/turned on for closed loop operation? Check that in your settings. My tuner advised to leave the function off while tuning/mapping so it doesnt adjust itself and keeps the values you enter. Then turn on the 02sensor for closed loop when finished mapping, which should get better fuel consumption.
  17. If you want to focus on low-mid range power i would try the new Tomei "Type R" poncams for GTR. I think they are around 252 duration, and very effective for low-mid range. Cam gears will also help bring boost/powerband earlier. I wouldnt do cams without out the wheels. I have Tomei type B poncams in mine.
  18. What car? What power are you looking to make? I've got a Garret 2876R 440HP Internal Wastegate turbo that maybe good for that, was on my previous S15. $850. It made 255kw atw on my SR20DET on 19-20psi
  19. Is this defintely new? Looks like there is little rust/dirt on it? I'll offer $2250
  20. Pictures of the wheels for everyone that has asked
  21. Is a T78-33D-14.0cm A/R too big??
  22. Yeah i fixed it. Loose clamp on intake pipe that joins to one of the AFM's
