  1. G'day Melly - I spotted you at maccas a week or so ago, love the 33 I've got a silver r34 sedan.
  2. thanks for the suggestions mate. in the light of day today i ended up finding out what it was - some kind of vacuum line which runs into the side of the plenum (right near the back) had a split along the bottom of it. no idea what it's for though, it didn't seem to really have much affect when it was leaking. anyway i do like an easy fix so im happy
  3. Hey guys, I ran a few searches but couldn't find any topic that sounded like my problem. tonight I noticed a hissing noise coming from the rear of my engine (rb25det). haven't noticed it before so it must have started doing it in the last few days. can't really hear it when the bonnet is down but fairly loud when it's up. it sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine right at the back. it doesn't seem to increase with revs and the car still runs fine at a solid 9psi of boost with no fluctuations. on shut down the sound continues for 2 seconds or so before you hear it reduce and then stop. i tried to pinpoint exactly where it's coming from and see if i could feel an air leakage but the engine fan pushes so much air past i couldn't really tell. can't see splits in any of the hoses.. any ideas chaps? thanks in advance..
  4. spotted 000DNK at tewantin this lunch time and had a bit of a chat! good choice in bakery
  5. I feel getting waves from other skyline owners around Noosa is a rare thing indeed! So, cheers!
  6. In my experience most of the speed camera operators tuck the sign around the end of the van so you don't see it until you're going past it - in which case it'd be too late to do anything anyway. So in my opinion makes little difference whether the van is marked/unmarked sign/no sign, if you see a late model van on the side of a nice straight bit of road with no other cars parked near it, always assume the worst.
  7. live and work in noosaville! i literally drive 5mins to get to/from work but i somehow manage to see your car around quite often. lol
  8. Hey Allara, If your local guy is away try AM Auto if you're after a service. They specialise in Subaru's but service any kind of import you can throw at them. I've had my R34 serviced there twice - I also had them replace my timing belt & water pump and they do good work. They also custom fabricate almost anything you like - they're putting a 3" turboback with custom front pipe onto my '34 today. They're down in Project Avenue - let me know if you're interested and I can forward on the details. Sean
  9. spotted OOODNK yesterday on gibson road. my 34 is at the shop getting a 3" turbo back exhaust so i was driving my red dunger falcon
  10. i've decided to get one through justjap so counts me out.
  11. cheers allara so is your 33 i actually saw your car earlier in the day too going along eumundi noosa road - don't recall if you had those same wheels last time i saw the car but they look awesome
  12. hi ashneel, I'd be very interested in one of these for my R34gtt - if you guys are able to offer them with the side panel cutouts to suit stock intercooler piping let me know mate - cheers.
  13. spotted 000DNK this morning in the industrial estate i was in the work van so you wouldnt have seen me
  14. ah, so that was you sorry i didn't stop and chat - was continuing on down to brisbane and was in a bit of a rush. nice 33 your one is
  15. spotted 000DNK in noosaville this morning
  16. I've seen a black 33 coupe at red rooster too
  17. Spotted my car's twin at southbank a few weeks ago, forgot to post it up sooner. An R34 2-door with rego ...-KEA. Nice clean ride and not sure if its a member on here It's The left one - the right one is my 4-door
  18. Also I've noticed that most R34's dash clusters just have blank plastic around the gauges? mine has chrome rings around the gauges and an imitation carbon fiber-ish look about it - maybe it was some option that was available? It doesn't seem to look after market to me
  19. Here's a few pics of my '99 R34 GTT after a detail She's stock but in very good 'nick I didn't really detail the engine bay yet but here it is anyway. The only mod it has is an unshielded pod (don't start, I know ). Will be fabricating an airbox for it later.
  20. Just did this mod to my R34 GTT (tiptronic) and made a noticable difference! Power felt alot stronger down low. I was driven to do it because I had been getting the missfire at 5000rpm when the boost levels changed. My engine is stock except for an apexi power intake. I only started getting the missfire since I installed that. I skimmed through most of the 22 pages in this thread and saw a few people saying to run it on a switch - so you can switch it back for highway runs. Though I don't understand why? On the highway my boost guage sits at around -300mmhg (about half way in the negative) and after the mod continues to do so unchanged. So as far as I can understand this mod shouldn't make any difference to fuel usage except the times when you're on boost below 5000rpm? (at which point it rose to the higher boost level anyway?) Am I wrong?
  21. Hey guys, My R34 is due for a service but I am reluctant to take it to a Nissan Dealer here in Noosa. Are there any workshops on the sunshine coast which people here would recommend?
  22. spotted a black R33 coupe near the RBWH this morning. flashed his lights so may be a member here!
  23. anyone here got an R33 that's a green chameleon colour that lives in noosa? saw one burning around town last night in the rain
  24. I bought a Meguiars Waterless carwash kit. Basically it comes with a spray squirter thing of speed detailer, 2 cloths to apply it with and 2 polishing cloths for buffing the stuff out. I think the kit is 20something dollars but thing is when you run out of the spray, you just need to buy a new bottle - which you can get seperately. I do the car almost every weekend and the bottle lasts me about 4 or 5 months. If the car gets really dirty (gritty shit like mud) I'd be a bit worried .. probably just need to shoot more spray on the panel before you start wiping it around.
  25. amazingly it doesn't seem to have scratched mine. the spray is kind of like a wax, you spray it on and wipe it over the panels, then let it dry and buff it off. you just have to make sure you have sprayed the area well before you wipe the product into the paint. if it's too dry then i can see that it may scratch. it's just common sense really, if the car is covered in flecks of mud and dirt then yeah you'll probably need to wash it if it's just dust or grime then the waterless is fine. if you keep it up once a week the car never really gets dirty enough to be a problem. i reckon the end result is actually superior to using water - you don't need to use a chamious to finish the job (as you've already buffed out the product) and you don't end up with any water drop marks on the panels or glass. if you like a clean car and you're on water restrictions give it a go, i can't recommend it enough and no i don't sell the stuff sweet looking R32 btw.
