  1. drove an old 323i bmw at work a few weeks back.... got in the car, turned the key and she didnt want to start for a second, then she fired and i was like 'hey this sounds like it's had some work done....' then i noticed the seriel cable poking out of the shifter hole and thought i'd investigate more. popped the bonnet and hey presto! RB20 with a big f**king turbo on it! forward facing plenum, big injectors, custom fuel rail, falcon coilpack conversion and a few other nice shiney parts there too. VERY tight fit! D.
  2. any chance if your parts work that you would make another set? ill pay of course... D.
  3. i got the dump, a hoist makes it so much easier! but i found the the pipe knocks on my gearbox (manual) x-member and one or two of the bolts at the turbo are a bit hard to do up... one of mine got half way in and hit the side of the pipe so that's as far as it went and another on the other side almost had the same problem. apart from that, works a treat and the pipe meets up to the factory cat position D.
  4. i like the yank trying to explain what the engine was on the site i saw it on when the movie came out... he had all his facts completely wrong and even the people correcting him had no idea. apparently it was an R25, 2.6L from the famous GT-S skyline and only the GT-S had this big turbo on it, all the other skylines had small twin turbo setups. they had quite a few facts there about the engine that were all wrong. funny stuff D.
  5. yeh it got called 'a new import subaru' when i went to vic last year. i'd also have to say that servo attendants would have to be the most common people to straight out say, what the hell is that?? D.
  6. ok, maybe ill rethink the copper then... i think it's a bit small for steel(?), the joiner has a wall thickness of about .5mm and the mounting lugs are just loops, the bolt passes straight thru and the thread is in the caliper (it's the thing that presses out) i showed the bit with the thread in it to the engineer next to my work, in view of re-tapping it the suit the stag bolt and he said not to bother, just to sleeve the new longer 33 bolt. so now i guess i should investigate having sleeves made..... damn. more work. D.
  7. i got some R33 gtst calipers and discs cheap, had a go at fitting them and all i could see that didn't work was the bolts. (didn't look at break lines but ill be getting braided when i do it) all you need is longer bolts to suit the 33 calipers and a spacer for the bolt to make it fatter for where it goes thru the caliper mount on the car. for this, i found that a half inch copper pipe joiner works, all you have to do is cut along it's length with a hacksaw and it pretty much fits in the mount hole. a tiny bit of filing may be required in the cut but basically you just put the joiner in a pair of multigrips or a vice and gently close the gap where you cut. then tap it into the mount hole. they cost about 40c each and took a couple of minutes to cut and file. i haven't actually mounted the caliper with these yet as i haven't had the time but ill let you all know how it goes when i find the time. the other thing i found was that the thread where the mounting bolt goes on the R33 calipers, can be pressed out. so if someone could make a new insert or find another thread insert from another type of caliper with the same thread as the standard stagea caliper bolt then it would be a direct bolt on job. i have also been told that R34 gtt brakes will bolt straight on, no mods. D.
  8. i always make people guess if they can't figure out what it is... most creative comment was "it looks like the bastard child of a camry wagon and a volvo" seems half the people i ask now days know what they are. no fun. D.
  9. ill have a pair when i get back from holidays in a few weeks and pull them off.... D.
  10. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/10...4s-t228872.html my exhaust is a silent something, cant remember right now... it's got a very nice note but is no way annoying or loud on long trips. easily consealed by quiet music and my noisy diff! dunno what times she'd get and probably never will, it's not something im fussed about really... and canberra has no track/strip to do it properly. i did buy one of those ecu consult display thingos tho, it has a timing feature so i may give it a go one day after a tune. side note - if anyone else has one of those ecu display things, where did you put it?? D.
  11. as talked about in another thread around here somewhere, manuals run 10psi all the time so bypassing solenoid doesn't do anything. ( i can confirm this as i have a manual and have tried it) in the last few months i've put on a turbo back stainless 3" exhaust, a highflo panel filter and splitfires. cost me about $1400 for brand new coils, justjap front pipe, filter, highflo cat and second hand cat-back exhaust (i'm a good bargain hunter!). car still needs to be tuned but it's much much better and is ever so slightly faster than my mates R34gtt. with a good tune ill have him eating dust D.
  12. search on ebay for car transport, there's a few companies that do non-runner specials and will pretty much take any car, in ANY condition, anywhere D.
  13. hey dude, you would happen to have those rear flares from the new set you got sitting around would you? wana sell em if you do? D.
  14. sucks to hear dude... try here---> link freight from gold coast to canberra only cost my mate $500 with canberra carways so try them for a quote D.
  15. yeh that's what i thought.... i dont have the patience/brain for those sort of things. anyone else keen? i have to pull the console apart to change the hd soon so i guess ill take some pics then. D.
  16. will they charge extra for those of us with an RS4s who need a battery gauge in the middle of the small ones? and how bout getting the boost gauge to show psi? D.
  17. pm sent, i'm a busy boy and i'm not here every night.... no plugs sorry dude D.
  18. i was told by a customer the other day, the black ssv ute sometimes has p-plates on it. the coppers got a sanction thru the courts to display p-plates on (atleast) the black ute. there's also a dark blue '05 lancer sedan with mags that's an undercover car D.
