RB25 turbos (R33 and R34). Use the RB20 turbo actuator and you'll be boosting along nicely.

the problem with putting on a bigger turbo on the RB20 is turbo lag. For street use it'd suck (full boost by 4,000rpm is crap), you shift before 4,000 street driving anyway. RB25 would be the go as you'd have a fair amount of response off boost (even with a bigger turbo). 300rwkw is achievable with RB25.

nothing's gone bang (yet). When I'm on boost above 0.5bar or about 50% throttle my turbo screeches like no tomorrow, Nath took a quick look at it last week and confirmed that it was the exhaust manifold gasket as well as the turbo gaskets. I've got some other crap to deal with too unfortunately (car's still running really rich, only getting 300kms per tank).

meep - BATMBL sells dump/front pipes which go from the turbo to the cat. He also sells Catco high flow cats. I'd wait until SydneyKid has the results of the Magic Cat vs new Catco cat battle off

Bone is my favourite rap group, I've been following them since about 1995/96...I've been to both their Sydney concerts although the last one was more of a Wish Bone concert (sort just like Metallica coming out with only Kirk Hammett or just the bass player dude)

well according to SydneyKid an engine with more cylinders and the same capacity will make more power mod for mod (I think that's what he said). So a SR20 and a RB20 mod for mod will have the RB make more power.

whoa thanks for the imformative posts guys. I let it warm up for 5/10 minutes, baby it until the oil pressure drops to 2 on the stock gauge before driving normally. I'll be doing the 30 second thing from now on...

I've heard there are shadowing issues. Is the beam cut off sharp?

you don't need to box up a pod filter if you get it engineered. It is defectable if you don't have a box and no engineers cert. BUT you should make a box for it as your pod's just sucking in hot air from under the bonnet...

only 4 gauge? Shouldn't you run 0 gauge wire?

I think it was meggala who blew his turbo because his autometer or some other cheap gauge wasn't reading properly. Personally I've got a Blitz AC Racing gauge. It's teh hotness.

I saw it on Saturday. It was ok but I felt that they rushed it a bit. Stages 1-3 are crammed into one movie with a lot left out (like Keisuke, Mako & Sato, Shingo etc...) The driving was good, however they had the GT-R drifting instead of grip driving like in the series. Several things I'll say they absolutely butchered: - Bunta is a moron, in the series everyone wants to be like him; he's so laid back and cool, in the movie he's a moron. - Emperor's look like clowns, I just couldn't take them seriously enough. - Ryosuke's character isn't developed at all so you need the background knowledge of the series to know that he's the undefeated White Comet of Akagi. Jay Chow can't act, he's only got one facial expression I give it 6/10.

After searching for a while I'm getting a Trust Power Extreme II as it's been reported to be a good flowing yet quiet exhaust. Pro Speed Racing have them for around $850 for the cat back. I originally was after a Fujitsubo but unfortunately they're out of my price range.

How much is the turbo going to cost you? It may be more financially viable for you to get a high flowed RB25 turbo which a few RB20 owners have used to get close to 200rwkw. If I were you I'd get a 3" dump / front pipe. A good tune will help a lot as well. Stock injectors aren't that bad.

more important question...is it any good? (compared with the anime series)
