  1. hey all, i recently purchased the alternator, power steering and air conditioning belts to change. now the p.s. and a.c. are both normal ones from repco while the alternator one is a blue 'racing' gates one (its the only i could find in stock on sunday,). now i am wondering are these worse off than normal ones in any way? eg. make more noise etc? i don't want to put it on as i have a pretty stock engine and i dont think there is a need to compromise on anything for the extra 'performance' any help would be appreciated
  2. Go to an a place that does engineer's certificates and ask them as most answers of the forum are not backed by law It probably depends on what type of assessor you get and what mood he is in
  3. 7,500 is a bit much considering you can get something like a 2000 model corolla with 85,000km for around 8,500. however, if the car is immaculate than it could be worth around 6,500-7,000
  4. yeah that looks ultra tough. congratulations on the purchase
  5. thanks for the info. did you get the titanium look on the muffler?
  6. Hey I was rear ended the other night and I will need a new bumper and exhasut muffler. Now I currently have a kakimato muffler on there that sounds fantastic and I would like to keep that sound. I was wondering does anyone know what model number this muffler might be and where can I get brand new kakimato exhausts from? I need this information as I doubt the panel beaters will be bothered to find the same one.
  7. i guess all forums are the same after all...these types of threads are so sad. person asks a legitimate question and you get an army of keyboard warriors responding
  8. already booked in 2 spots! should be a fun day. the spots filled up pretty damm quick
  9. any updates on when these are going to happen?
  10. yay its all done! thanks for the replies. had a bit of a battle putting the clip back in but besides that i would definetly recommend doing it this way rather than the filler plug.
  11. hey i decided to change the gearbox oil through the shifter after reading about it through the old threads. i have taken everything off but now i am stuck. where exactly do i fill it up from here? or do i need to take the shifter out? if so how do i do that?
  12. my r33 takes around 12L/100km driving normally which is pretty good. you can also pick one up for really cheap as theres just so many of them for sale. the fact that its newer then the s13 and r32 also give you something to consider. plus the rb25 is just a damm good engine that would probably outlast the sr20 and the rb20
  13. definetly down for this. email sent
  14. you get what you pay for. do you honestly think a $20 chip has any testing or proven benefits associated with it? if you don't have the money to modify the car properly from the start than don't bother doing it all as it just leads to more problems down the track.
  15. its kind of not worth the money as gains will be minimal. plus if you get some dodgy installation than things start stuffing up which leads to more problems. maybe just keep it stock
  16. have you considered taking of the kit and putting some stock suspension back in? if you cant be bothered than 5k seems about right considering how much work will need to be done to get it back to road worthy state. that being said it does seem like a baragin for anyone in the market
  17. i would probably be interested in leg 2
  18. that sounds pretty good. however, that would be a pretty tiring drive. maybe split it as either a city cruise or just a drive through the twisties. this way you would get more numbers. ae86dc had a similar cruise not long ago where they had a meet up and then drove into healesville (spelling?) and had a bbq. then all the people that wanted to go for a drive went in that direction torwards mt baw baw while anyone that wasn't up for it left a lot shorter and that way you can enjoy the drive more
  19. buying of ebay is always a risk. sometimes it better to add the extra bit and have a peace of mind. if anything breaks you can always go back and return it to the store
  20. if you are talking just about engines than the v8 is as tough as any turbo engine. the problem is usually the chassis it is in
  21. how are they so bad? like what specifically is wrong with them?
  22. lol maybe just get some buckets of water and go to bunnings car park but seriously maybe a driver's training day would be better as i think they put you through wet braking and cornering depending on which one you choose
  23. Hey i was wondering if there any skid pad days organised? I would love to learn a bit my car in a controlled environment. Would prefer if the ground was wet to put less strain on the car.
