Now thats one thing I haven't heard A THING about... I'm starting to think whether that rumour was just a Nissan USA 'wish list' type proposal... a proposal that flies in the face of any GT-R tradition, also in typical "we don't give a crap about foreign stuff" Yank fashion.Honestly, everytime I bring up foreign market GT-R stuff with Japanese friends and coworkers, they just go all blank... theres been no mention of a V8 here in Japan, and there probably won't be. I just can't see Nissan tipping added dollars into R+D for a "GT-R spec" (read: proven on the cicuit) V8 for a single market... even if it is the US of A. If the V35 (or V36 for that matter) Skyline was able to be enginneered to accept a V8 then they would. But that would just be stupid, as the Cima/President already have V8s in them, an Infiniti in the US will offer the M45 (Fuga) there with a V8, the M45 being just 1 step up from the G35 (Skyline) in size. But just by looking at the info that we have, there has been no V8 R+D up until now... therefore there won't be V8 in a GT-R... let alone a Skyline! (small shot at Speed mag )

Woohoo! Excelent turnout again this year! So it's imperative that we have some kind of plan so that we can see as much of the show as possible while spending the least amount of time waiting! Now, a couple of things were evident last year: 1) The guys who were in Japan for the first time all took off on us the moment we got inside... I totally understand, but it was hard to catch with them again at lunch, and almost impossible after the show (aw g'day Nick! ) 2) Although the layout of the place is fairly simple, it's good to know which way is north, because I remember trying to explain to somebody where we were and it took ages for them to find us... when we were at the opposite end to where they were looking. So heres the (rough) plan, please feel free to put in your 2c if you think its a ghey plan... Saturday 15th January 10am - Meet at the East exit of JR Makuhari station. 2pm - Meet at the 2nd floor level cafeteria/rest area directly to the left of the gates as you walk in. 6pm - Meet directly infront of the Makuhari Messe Hall (same place as you entered) and we'll go and have some dinner (undecided location). Over to you guys...

He's just spreading the same rumours from the last 4 years even though theres heaps of evidence (that he obviously hasn't seen) to prove otherwise... Either that or just have heaps of wrong info on your site just like r35gtr.com

I can see what they're trying to do... get some kind of uniformity going in the AU Import scene... and good on them. But I can't see all the top people from the various "brand name" websites (ie: SAU, Nissansilvia, Ozrotary etc) signing up with as much enthusiasm as they have for their respective websites. Still, I hope Carscene can carve it's own niche. Btw, if there are any blatant errors I might come on and straighten things out ... Evo_Lee might help out too if he's feeling overly generous

I'm a bit patriotic to SAU... so I won't be contributing. On the otherhand I do go to GTRCanada/GTP Forums and lurk in GTROCUK to keep an eye on what they're doing... but as far as other AU sites... nothing except Nissansilvia.com (only coz of Ken - gday mate). Btw, whats a "R35"? Is that some new car Nissan released that no one knows about?
