Don't be a tight arse. Do it properly or don't do it at all.

REALITY CHECK You think life is tough. Imagine having to wheel a hosptial bed with a dead 10yo girl to the hospital theatre for a final autopsy and organ harvest, whilst the parent is walking along with you saying his final goodbyes to his little girl. Then coming home at 11.30pm at night and having to wake your 10yo boy to tell him how much you love him. My fiance went thru such an ordeal last night working at the hospital. It was Tracy's toughest shift yet. Glad I'm not religious. I can't understand how a God can take away a little girl.

Carry a baseball bat or club lock next time. Then teach him some manners! -
I gotta go to Super Cheap and stock up on the bling for my car, so I can win a fully sik trophy like the 180 yo!
-
Then bring the "family wagon" out for a drive
-
... or find piece of paper on your window. Drive off a bit anyway. See who comes out of hiding, then reverse and run the f**ker over!

Waiting in suspense for the next installment Try the cable tie trick on the axles ... or the old "strap a dead fish to the muffler" trick

I've got another lip that should fit your bar ... EDIT: looking at it closer ... I don't think it would fit your bar.

Other topics? We're talking about the defect problem in SA, not NSW. I don't see many members putting in the work to make a change. And I've been around the car scene long enough too (20 years) thank you. You haven't noticed changes in 20 years? I pity you. Stay on topic please.

I disagree. Then you've obviously been on the wrong cruises. As a matter of fact, I haven't seen you attend any SAU cruises that I've been on in the last 12 months. All the cruises I've attended (and organised) have not once resulted in any defects or traffic violations. We are discussing SAU cruises and the SAU reputation here. Your observation is just that: "your observation". In any case, the concern is with defects and the fairness of defect, not "multiple traffic violations". Keep on topic please. Nisskid is right, the defect system needs to be fixed, and Neil has informed us that the wheels are turning to fix that problem. Yep ... I'm tired of repeating myself too. Some people are not listening ... their ears are only open to what they want to hear. So I've said enough and had enough. Its easy to lead sheep when you feed them what they want. Try to make a difference and people get all negative and disbelieving. If everyone wants to live in a box, thats fine by me. Some of us are trying to make a difference. Others will never believe, and would rather watch FnF over and over again

I had thought that the driver is fined for the passenger not wearing the seat belt ... is that what is actually in question here? How can the passenger be fined? Its the driver's ultimate responsibility therefore he/she will be the one fined. Would you hand out a fine to a 10yo kid in the back seat? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Thats right! Well, he's still in Adelaide

Spotted "aaah31" in the City about 2pm today. I was the biker cutting thru traffic

Okay, let's try to keep the RCK rubbish outta here. And keep this thread on topic. Mods can you tidy this up as needs.

Correcting myself ... it was an Evo 6 (think I said Evo 7). White in clolour with white rims and rear wing, typical end can sticking out the back ... that much I do remember.
-
I did, but by the time I got to work ... I forgot The cop has their plate number now, if you wanna ask them

Spotted a white Evo Lancer getting nicked by a traffic cop just 15 mins ago! The driver (I think it was a chick) must be stupid as. Near the old gaol on Port Road was a speed camera set up. Driver of Evo wanted to drag race me on my bike. I let them have their "win". I saw the speed camera, they didn't. Trophy for them Then as we stop at the start of West Terrace, I see an unmarked bike cop (blue BMW) ahead, cop notices me, think he had his eyes on me originally. Lights go green and Evo floors it, shooting across 3-4 lanes in the direction of the cop. Gets behind a slower car, changes lanes (F1 style) to go around car. Cop's seen enough and lights 'em up. Busted twice in 2 minutes ... how stupid can you get.

I agree. Regarding the hood popping. I believe it is more of a fear of the outcome of the hood popping, of either (a) being defected unfairly; or (b) knowing you're going to be defected. In the case of (a) above, the said driver might have a totally stock car, but fear that the officer inspecting under the bonnet doesn't know what he is looking at and will send the car to Regency anyway to let them find the suspected illegal mod. In the case of (b) above, the said driver might have some major mods under the bonnet and fear the officer knows what he is looking for, and will subsequently defect the vehicle and send it to Regency. The meeting with SAPOL will iron out inconsistencies and make the (a) scenario much fairer. Hood popping will occur less, and when it does occur the driver's car will be inspected fairly. However, if you have major mods, (b) still applies If police are better trained and not left to suspecting a mod (and add to that, the driver has documented evidence of carrying out a mod correctly, professionally and safely) then there will be less fear of police and the dreaded defects.
