  1. I wouldn't worry about it. There's always going to be people talking about things they know nothing about, pretending they know it all. Let them go and you find out for yourself, rather than what some forum says.
  2. Insurance companies suck. End of story. They're happy to take your money, but lazy-as when it goes to a legitimate claim. They still have not given me a reason why my bike sat around for 7 weeks! And I'm sure they'll avoid answering that question. And "be mindful that your claim was under mandatory investigation due to the accident being a single vehicle accident" doesn't say anything. All claims are to be investigated in a timely fashion. That would translate as "we'd hoped you'd go away but still pay us money, then later we'd claim your bike and profit a further $23K"
  3. He's still not making any sense.
  4. This one it my bike (pic taken about 15 minutes before fateful crash): Can't wait to get her back!
  5. Its an Mv Agusta F4 Brutale to be exact ... the naked 750cc version of the F4 1000cc, as shown in pic: It shares all the same trick bits as the F4, only the engine is peakier. And mine now has Ohlins rear shock, full Corse race system, crash protection, CF parts galore ... hey, had to spend my money on something while laid up with a broken shoulder LOL
  6. Got pics? I've been "window shopping" for some 4 pots. BTW got my modified coilovers back from the engineers today. Going to fit the rear Ohlins coilovers tonight (and maybe the fronts if not too dark - bloody daylight savings!)
  7. 9 weeks after breaking my shoulder, and 8 weeks after my bike went into the shop, I had enough of not having my phone calls returned about getting my MV Agusta F4 Brutale repaired. So I went into the Swann office in Adelaide and kicked up a stink, followed up with more phone calls and emails about the status of my bike. I had told them that my broken shoulder had healed faster than it took them to assess my bike. That was not good enough. Here is an email I got today (everything is happening at once now): "Please be mindful"? So thats their excuse for taking sooooo long. Bills Motorcycles in the city have told me that I must have given them a fair kick up the arse, as Swann told them to repair the bike asap, so "the client" can be happy again. Never going with Swann again. I'm just happy the ball is rolling for my repairs! Really shits me a $23K bike is sitting in a shop doing nothing!
  8. True. But I am doing this further up river in Renmark or beyond. I'd HOPE there would be some water up there!
  9. Which means he doesn't know Krishy.
  10. I have my own little retirement plan. Retire at 45 with a property at Renmark and houseboat to hire out.
  11. Because its my car not yours, and you are only speculating on how I drive now. So ... I'd rather not.
  12. Thanks for that I've done the calculations and the F circum is 1968mm compared to the R circum at 2040mm. Thats a 3.6% difference in circumference. At 100kph thats a difference between the two of 0.2kph. I'll still play it safe and get another 2 235/45 tyres
  13. The uni joint can fail ever so slightly that the tailshaft is slightly out of alignment horizontally, making it out of balance. Whereby you feel the vibrations, but no noise might be assoicated with it as the joint spins up with centrifigal forces. A bit like sitting in the Gravitron!
  14. I'd rather not.
  15. It does sound like a uni joint. I've had one fail ever so slightly and it is definitely felt in the body of the car. Fixing them is simple enough if you wanna give it a go yourself. Remove the circlip and use a flat head screw driver and hammer to tap them out. A suitable mechanic should be able to replace them cheap enough. Also, if your tailshaft is out of balance, this will cause the problem also. But the weights to balance it are usually welded on, so its rare.
  16. Hmm, Out of curiousity I just checked my tyres. I purchased two sets of rubber on Tuesday and didn't think about mismatching profiles. Never gave it a second thought. Seems I'm running 40 on the front and 45 on the rear on 18" rims. I'm not experiencing any shudder or side effects, but I guess I should grab another set of 45s today for the front. I only fitted the rims last night, and drove a whole of 8.5kms to work in 50-60kph zones, so I should be safe for today. I'm gunna buy my friend a beer for bringing up the discussion. Still on another note: it seems pretty silly designing an AWD system where unevenly worn tyres will result in more wear/stress on the AWD system. There must be some 'slip' there somewhere?
  17. I got mine from Used Tyre Mart on Grand Junction Road, just before Hanson Road. $70-$90 for good used Continentals, Bridgestones etc
  18. Okay so thats obvious, mismatched rim sizes is BAD What about 17" rims with 35 profile front and 40 profile rear? Or even same profile all round, but spanking new 40 profile on the front and 50% worn 40 profile on the back?
  19. Just also thinking. If you're running 17" or 18" or 19" rims and you get a flat and fit the 16" spare, how does that affect things too?
  20. A quick Q about tyre profiles. With the AWD system, what happens if you run say 35 profile tyres on the front and 45 on the rear? Or even if you have 35, 40, or 45 all round, but have an underinflated tyre? How would that affect the AWD system? Someone asked me last night, and I really didn't have a close enough/accurate answer.
  21. Oh so yummy!! *drool*
  22. Gets the Ohlins coilovers fitted today ... and lowered 2"
  23. Checked it out this morning. It is the HKS pod filter making the noise.
  24. I'll post them up tomorrow. Keep in mind the coilovers are not fitted yet ... so its not getting lowered until Fri/Sat.
  25. True. There are people out there in specialist jobs or multi-skilled jobs, who just can't be easily replaced if at all.
