Your car is still in there isn't it? Sounds suss.

What would you do something silly like that for? Well ... its got the attention of NS.com, and now its getting our attention. I say good on them. Everyone's crying about the cops needing to be properly educated and trained ... but they can't spend a cent or they're accused of blowing tax payers money. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. Fords are cheap anyway Shows a bit of humour.

Sucks to hear Luke. Condolences to the family. Tragic news.

Good find Krishy. I laughed so hard. There is Morrells on South Road, Richmond. Its a small paint shop behind the Morrells car yard. He's done my plastics for my bikes and is doing the bodykit for my 33.

We've got a few stickers in the works James. Will be ready by dyno day

Mate, I've seen 50+ year olds driving hyundais hooning thru traffic and they get away with it day in and day out. Altho I did see justice last night at Regency Park. P-plater with mates in his "taxi" Falcon edging me to race him at the Regency Rd lights heading north on South Road. I gave it a quick squirt right up to 70kph (speed limit) ... 10 seconds later they screamed past me at about 100kph. The traffic cop (whom I noted was there earlier when I drove past) on his bike was hiding on the other side of the road, pulled out, gave chase and they got nicked Yeah, I set them up a bit, but they didn't need any encouragement anyway.
-
Yet they let him continue driving to his appointment ... even when he showed no care for the 160kph+ speeds he was doing? What if he'd killed someone after the cops let him go???
-
Yeah ... like they also forgot to fit AWD

Got the stag booked in with JK next Thursday to fit the Bosch 040 and check my fuel mixtures and timing. Will do a plug and oil change before then. Also removing some of the panelling at the back of the wagon to make pump fitting job quicker for him (and cheaper for me)

No wonder the competition was so fierce!

Life Story entry #333 Scored some timber yesterday for the house extension ... but not just any timber. 180m2 of recycled jarrah floor boards (80mm x 18mm) in various 600mm and 2m lengths. I went over my plans last night and calculated the requirements for the planned extension and the existing house ... and I only need 148m2 (not including wet areas). Oh, and I'm paying under $3,000 for it! So I guess I'm going to be busy over the next few weeks laying floors But the jarrah will look so f**king hot when its done. Ordering the floor framing next week. Extension has been on hold for the past 2 months while we sell one of our properties.

Tracy could use some real warm slippers! Why have those fake looking ones, when you could have the real thing I say

Recover from WRC by working V8s (hint, hint). At MotoGP I do paddock marshalling, pitlane (race control), and trackside (recovery and flag control). I get rotated around, because I'm apparently useful in all areas, and numbers from area to area are up or down each year. I get given a mic and walkie, a handful of 'rookies' and given tasks for the day. It varies alot depending on circumstances. Mostly my job involves keeping areas clear for riders ... especially in pit lane ... that includes bossing media and teams around Been doing this 8 years now At WSBK, its pretty much the same as above. Done WSBK 2 years now. At V8 Supercars, I get a whole garage (or two) to manage. Thats 1 or 2 teams which I scrutineer the whole weekend. I record their pit stops and tyre changes. Rules in pitlane for Supercars is quite strict. I'm the guy the teams love or hate, because I basically have the power to disqualify a team if they do not meet the pitlane requirements/limits. If a car comes in busted, it MUST have all loose/broken bits removed or secured. MUST not be leaking any fluids. I see anything I don't like, I point and "insist" on it being fixed. And I must record all this and report it to Race Control. Most of the guys I'll be working with I've worked with at MotoGP and WSBK, so I'll have some help on hand if needed. I got offered this job because someone thinks I'm a hard worker My motorsport portfolio is really getting weighty. I really wanna get back into next season's motorcycle racing ... but all this work (3 trips to PI a year now) is putting me on the wrong side of the tyre wall. And using up my track budget. I love working as a race official, but I also like cutting a few quick laps myself you know. We'll catch up soon Jess and swap petrolhead stories eh?

Just for the hell of it. Best seat in the house ...

Just checking to see if anyone from Adelaide is going to head on over to the Victorian (Phillip Island) V8 Supercars race over the 11th-13th September weekend? Either as a spectator or working? I'm working in the pits and I'll be all by my lonesome Organising accommodation and travel now ... if anyone is going also and hasn't made plans yet, sharing accommodation might be cheaper ... as well as transport over. I might see about campsite options at the PI track and fly the SAU banner If anyone has any marshalling/race official experience, and would like to work at the V8 Supercars, PM me and I'll fill you in on the job required (and see if you'd be suitable), then I'll put you in contact with my boss for the event to apply. I'll be managing an entire garage or two (one/two teams) and I/we might need the support from experienced marshalls. Anyone interested must be available on the Friday 11th for training ... we will not have time to train you over the weekend. Even if you have marshalling experience, you still need training. And you will need to name your V8 drivers by face/helmet & suit. I'm brushing up on my V8 drivers knowledge this week

I'd be happy with a useable 180awkw! Not after big power ... thats what I have my bikes for

I knew if Rann got in we'd be going backwards to the 1960s. But I wouldn't go giving up just yet. Rann's BS laws will only go as far as those enforcing them ... and anyone with half a brain can see the flaws in his 'ultimate plan'. Legit car clubs across Adelaide are working with SAPOL for that good report card. Everyone's projects are limited by their income and personal lives. I think a few people (not pointing to you Talbo) need to back off Cara for a bit. Cara has gotten alot of conflicting info on her project which has been out of her control. We've all had projects that never go to plan.

You need to HTFU with being passed (read: nudged) or GTFO of the way Great night Krishy ... but somehow I don't think Richmond will have us back again ... how many karts did we break? Three, four?
-
Well, I had no power earlier today ...
-
Now I know you are lying ... there were no clean passes last night. I was being nice and playing nice last night ... until my last 20 laps. Even Adrian "got in my way" a few times.

IMO those babyblades (CBR250R or RR) are overpriced, but the resale is still strong, so you'll get your money back for the most part. Private sales they fetch between $3K for a shitter to $6K for low kms. A learner legal bike that IS alot of fun is the Suzuki DRZ400SM is a fun motard for $8K new or about $5K second hand. If price is your limiting factor, a ZZR250 or GPX250 is affordable and will keep you honest for around $2K: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ZZR250_W0QQitemZ320...93%3A1|294%3A50 Depends ... do you want trail, motard, cruiser or sporty?

So what? Mugging clowns for their helium tank is fun

Grandstanding? What grandstanding? and I'm sorry ... where did you finish the race? It was we older blokes who put you guys to shame ... shame, shame, shame Congratulations to Andrew and Scott ... then myself and David coming in second, around 14 seconds behind them after 160 laps. For 36+yo and 85+kg "old blokes" we did alright eh? My last 20 laps session was a load of fun. Drivers getting desperate, lots of nudging, rubbing and fighting. Congrats to those who just got thru without breaking a kart. Me and my mates hit up the Havelock afterwards for a mate's birthday. Boy did we get hammered. Got home at 4am and I've only just woken up. Not sure if my guts are bad from the drinking or the karts ... or both.
