  1. Welcome to the forums mate do a search there should be plenty of info. From what I have heard the Link ECU's are great. But like any ECU they are only as good as the tuner make sure you go to a tuner with experince in tuning LINK ECU's.
  2. 2003 porche carrera converible - very nice car love the unique sounding engine. VX clubsport R8 manual - Mates car nice big cruiser pretty quick handles well for a big car but a handful on the limit. VXSS auto - with big exhaust and extractors I recon it went better than the R8. shit auto and again very heavy and easy to loose on the limit. BAXR8 ute auto - Nice car to drive very nice ride but I find the falcons handle funny not as dirict as the commodores. Didnt go as well as the clubby. BAXR6Tmanual - went ok about what I expected a little better than the XR8. Heavy clutch and gearbox again feels it weight in the handling department. no where near as nice to drive as my r33. Porche was the best by far. I would love a drive or a ride in a honda NSX and a Skyline GTR one day. cheers
  3. Or when the V8 boys say ill just spend 2 grand on a supercharger and blow you away.
  4. I know what you mean mate thats why forums such as these can be such a good starting point for people thinking about modifing there car. The main thing I find with people who have little knowledge is boost they think because joe blows car runs more boost that billy bobs that it will be quicker. Also they think they can just bolt a bigger turbo on and make 250 -300rwkw and dont relize injectors, fuels pumps, ECU, ect ect need to be upgraded as well. I knew very little before I came to SAU and im still far from an expert but though by through these forums and researching every mod before actally doing it I have ended up with a car that performs as I wanted it to without spending a fortune on parts that I dont need, or parts that are not really appicable for the stage the car is at.
  5. Thanks that would make the MPH and the time look about right then.
  6. I think I have been trying in the to say that (in the distant past) 200rwkw at 1 bar translates to 300hp at the motor or less. My speculation was about actual engine power. dyno readings are to me like peices of toilet paper when used for inane comparisons between cars. The 1/4 mile time for the Rb20 powered thingo is more interesting. I'd be more swayed to buying a turbo based on what it 'does' in the real world when setup correctly. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> my opinion 200rwkw would be more than 300 engine hp. 300hp = 225kw. You would loose more than 25kw throught the drive train. eg standard r33 gtst engine power 187 and and 135rwkw rough estimation.Thats 52 KW. Id say 200rwkw would be closer to 250kw+ at the engine which is arround 335hp. cheers
  7. Yep thanks mate did some more research and the time I had was probably for an auto. Found a couple of sites which claim around 6.5 and 14.8. cheers
  8. Guys how is your MPH measured down the quarter? I asume its the speed you reach crossing the finish line. With a GTECH I manage a 13.3 with 113MPH. That MPH sounds way to high for the times and car I have. I have a R33 GTST with around 200rwkw and standard turbo cheers.
  9. Im after a let of whiteline varible rate springs or king springs lows varible rate. Im also after some whiteline or bilstein shocks for my r33 GTST
  10. Had another couple of goes last night managed 13.3's this time @ 112.8 and 111.5 MPH (im slowly getting better). My car was tuned @ 195rwkw since then ive added r32 actuator so it now holds 11psi to redline where as it used to trail off to 9psi with the bleeder. I have also added a partitioned apexi pod and a cold air feed. Would be interesting to see what its makes on a dyno now after those small changes. It is certainly very inerseting to see how similar our results are.
  11. Thanks guys. I seem to have a high MPH around 109 -110 does that sound about right for the times I am getting.
  12. Just brought a G-tech off e-bay and test my car it could manage 0-100 in 4.9 and 0-400m in 13.4. Who else has one of these? how acurate have you found it compared to the drag strip ect? Whats results did you get? (please include mods) cheers
  13. Cool thanks I think I will thats what whiteline uses in there kits to so I hear.
  14. Fair enough I must say though I found it interesting that in early tests in both wheels and motor the XR6T times were faster than its more powerful, more expensive brothers. Even the SS with 13.9 quicker than the GT the ford guys would have loved that. I like HSV's better anyway they are still at least a couple of 10th's quicker than anything ford has come out with lately. Falcons are nice but just to heavy.
  15. XR6 turbo is quicker over the quarter and 0-100 than the TYPHOON and the GT from all the figures ive seen. must be because of its weight advantage XR6T 13.9 GT 14.2 TYPHOON 14. 33 GTR would flog all these cars with low 13's over the quarter in stock form.
  16. Managed a 4.9 0-100 and a 13.4 0 - 400m with my g-tech.
  17. What turbo and you running mate?
  18. Its certainly harder to read larger font would help
  19. Its coming time for me to upgrade my suspension I have decided on king spring lows. But cant decide on what shocks to use Koni or Bilstein. Which setup would give the better ride? which setup will handle better? Which setup is cheaper? Or does someone have a better suggestion? cheers
  20. Are you joking? Thats the last thing Id do to my Skyline. But if you really have to have em I think I may have seen them on ebay. Each to there own but I recon it would look s**t house.
  21. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=80479 here is a link to stock vs stock 0-100km and 0-400m. Not a lot in it really at the end of the day if they are both manual the better driver will win. That said I have driven both in manual form and the Skyline to me was a much nicer car to drive. Lighter and smoother clutch and gear box. You can really fell the weight of the XR6 when cornering to. cheers
  22. just brought one off ebay for $45 the early gtech pro model so when I get it I will let who all know how I go. I will lend it to a few of my mates with quick cars to and compare and list the results.
  23. Depends on who you know and what you can do yourself. Shop arround get second had exhaust SAFC ect to cut costs. -Intercooler kits are gettig cheeper and cheeper around $600 for a Hybrid copy -exhaust second hand jap brand 600-700 highflow cat and dump pipe $300 or so for both (look in the forsale section on these forums) -SAFC 350-400 or power FC 950 with hand controller from Nengun. -$30 boost controller off forums (search $22 boost controller) at least$250-$300 for a dyno regap plugs to 0.8 free if you do it yourself. So it is possible to do it from stock for under $2500 if you can install all the parts yourself but pay for a dyno tune. My mods and power are in Sig thats pretty close to 200rwkw. Every can is different though but with these mods expect 180 - 200 rwkw depending on engine condition tune ect. The only thing I would have done different is I should have brought a Power FC instead of a SAFC.
