After seaching long and hard for a stock skyline (my current 33) i am convinced when i get my new R34 i will be looking for a modded one. After spending shit loads for minor mods you realise the value of the modifications.

Jimbo: the way i see it is that you will have no chances of clearing up a defect even if the cop WAS wrong! They issue you with a defect notice, then you have to go clear it up at the rta. a) the cop gives you an on the spot $70 fine per defect (i believe at this point you lose your 2 points too?) B) you go to the rta and pay a further $30 to have the car inspected Now if the cop gave you a incorrect defect, how do you prove it was incorrect and you didn't just fix the problem before goin to the RTA? The whole thing reeks of shit! I would only accept a defect and a loss of 2 points if the rta and epa were present at a defect station.....NOT just some pig taking a power trip!:cuss:

I also thought i had fog lights for a year until i realised that the indicators just look like they should have a fog light in them. If u do have stock fog lights they would be in the bottom ends of the front bar, if not then you just get plastic mesh inserts.

Once and for all.....even though i can't find the rule indicating anything about 1inch over they WILL defect you for having more than 1 INCH over! So for the last time all us gtst WILL get defected for 18's. I know because i have, even though my wheel and tyre combination wasn't 15mm over. 1inch taller, and 1inch wider.

the exhaust plug/silencers work heaps well.....borrowed one just incase they did a full inspection at the RTA, even though thats NOT wat they defected me for. The RTA guy gave it a rev and didn't mind wat he heard. Ripped the damn thing out at the next servo tho!

Haha, the 2 point defect rule comes into play at the start of july....was reminded while clearing my defects up last friday by the cranky old bastard at botany RTA.:lol:
