  1. Btw guys i tried the brake pump technique today. Launch mode as per usual, then let off the brake and slam it back on quickly, revs rise quite substantially. However i got cluthc overheat straight away. Dunno if i will be using that little trick at the strip.
  2. Yes it will soon be available i believe (via Cobb).
  3. good luck with the sale Gibbo, what is the replacement?
  4. might be a silly idea, but has anything thought to just get a shop (say bilstien shop like heasmans) to put in revised springs and/or revalve the shocks to suit (if required?) to be more ideally suited to time attack events?
  5. Thankyou Mark. i had a quick chat with Murray this arvo before he left for NZ. I will catch up with him next week. cheers.
  6. yes they are quite good from stock but not perfect for track. some of the USA guys seem to be having good results with JRZ's etc.
  7. After feedback from those that have tried aftermarket coilovers (or any suspension upgrade on the R35 really) and did you attribute any performance gain, and/or degradation of road manners? The coilover of choice in the USA seems to be the JRZ's, what have you tried and what are your thoughts? I have attached a pic of my car and i think you will agree it looks like it handles like a double bed through that particular turn...
  8. geat video, especially the bit chasing Brian! if you've got grip for aggresssive turn 4 entry (looks like you do) try staying right after T3, i found that can be a tad quicker.
  9. Check out the video "Secret Life of F1" which revolves around creative rule interpretation over the last few decades. Extremely interesting stuff; rules can never cover 100% every eventuality/circumstance/situation thus subjectivity will always be a factor. No point denying it or wishing it wasn't so.
  10. Update: -Wakefield Park- Car: 2009 GTR Time : 1:02.44 Exhaust: Willall catback Tune: Willall mailorder Power: 340awkw-ish Aero: AM Wing Tyres: Michelin 270/68/18 (slicks)
  11. Ditto, i have only seen the low speed chugging when very cold (less than 20*c) using willall fluid; and disappears completely within a minute or two of driving. So for it to be so bad it makes the car undirvable has me stumped. Funny how some of the guys on the USA forums complain of chugging (in cold weather) even on the factory fluid. Seems like a car to car thing?
  12. Marek has already run two times prior (similar days and very similar times) there is simply no need for more testing, we know the wing works the results speak for themselves. i dont think marek is going back to the stocker wing somehow.
  13. How many of the o/s cars do you think would have a aussie cams spec cage? Best to talk to Nathan @ Superlap regarding the aeromotions stuff. I know the answer but anyone with a real interest needs to talk to the actual organisers.
  14. Well done Brian, top photo too
  15. Here's a video of a session where we ran a 1:02.44 at Wakefield yesterday Lap in question starts around the 2:00 minute mark Hitting in excess of 1.6g's on several turns now too. I reckon some aftermarket suspension and/or some new slicks may see us into the 61's
  16. Adam we have received notice on the records set yesterday, so yes you can chalk up another aeromotions success.. Too bad i was around on the day apparently! Seriously though i actually feel like an arse, Marek broke the record books too. In fact on the day Marek was in front for a while so he was the outright, type and class record holder for about an hour or two. I can't believe the hunt is on for 1:01's now
  17. Not sure, it may be. We'll find out tomorrow perhaps.
  18. Nice work guys. phew what a day!
  19. So who has been following the secret sauce launch sercrets thread on the USA forums? as far as i can tell there are two less known methods: 1) Double pump the gas pedal. Stab the accelerator as per launch mode usual, then let go and pump again (quickly). You may see rpm's climb to as much as 4500 then. I've tried this a fw times on my ADM but got clutch overheat each time on attempted launch, bummer.. 2) Brake bumper! Stage up as per launch mode usual, then let go of the brake and slam it back on again. Apparently this results in RPM climbing (brake off on quickly) Anyone tried this? Interested to hear how the aussies launch their r35's
  20. great post Duncan. what do people find works with the AD08's in terms of pressures?
  21. The Tuners Group are the local distributor now, check em out.
  22. as per above, the stocker ECU has been cracked by cobb, hundreds of people worldwide have had their r35's tuned with it.
  23. sorry guys i'd given up on the idea (lack of interest!). As mentioned I do have a mail order tune from willall; recently confirmed in good health on the dyno (power and fuel all good). for those looking i am sure you could find something in sydney, there seem to be at least one tuner with decent results. otherwise the mailorder tune from SA seems to be working for a lot of people too, i am certainly very happy with it. btw, i have a new in box haltech ECU (for r35) for sale if anyone is interested! going cheap!
  24. any word? i hope everything is ok.
  25. 158mph? wow that's a new world record! - must have been at Heathcote, lol.
