  2. hopefully a generous SAU memeber can help you out. as an aside most of the current aussie owners bought their r35 sight unseen (undriven) fwiw. if you can't get a drive i would only suggest this: if you are after a part time track car (which also makes a decent road car) then buy it. If you arent interested in track duties i would go with something else.

    E85 For R35

    interesting. thanks Duncan.
  4. Anyway in terms of weight, i found out they are 1 pound lighter per wheel (vs older te37's) which is almost half a kilo, which is good.
  5. sounds great. have you got any details on exactly how much these wheels weigh? cheers
  6. no worries. i think i found some decent ones (aussie made i think) through meridian motorsport, $150/set. apparently quite good i will report on them soon.
  7. thanks for that but nothey are not the correct ones. these are the ones http://www.project-mu.com.au/en/products/o..._nut_racing.php
  8. same here. studs damaged due to the soft alloy thread coming apart and mashing the stud thread. pita. got to watch them closely and clean as you go all the time. a damaged stud can ruin your whole championship (i carry a bunch of spares now..!)
  9. can't seem to find any project mu stuff less than the $390 price, any suggestions?
  10. wow, how odd. i never realised that g's were an input to the traction control? you arent running aftermarket size tyres are you?
  11. great results again, nice.
  12. that's me. i just cant bring myself to pay $400 for wheel nuts. i understand the economy argument, but yes i'm a tyt arse!
  13. thread mining again. What have been peoples experiences with R35 pads? I have tried Carbotech xp12's (great bite but squealed like a cop on the street) DS2500's (about the same as stocker pads) Hawk's (did not sweep the entire rotor, 10mm less!) and MX72's (not as much bite as the xp12's but virtually squeal free on the street, and kind to rotors). Anyone tried the project mu HC+ in their r35? if so, did they squeal? how did they perform? they seem "cheap" about $800 for a full set.
  14. Mark, i burnt a data CD (with MP3's) and it works ok (!!). i noticed it takes a while to start (like 15~20 seconds) - it must be doing something to index or analyse the files, but it works. So this means we can put 100+ songs on a CD i suppose, whohoo! easy.
  15. Just called RI they seem to be $390/set. ouch.
  16. that's what i used to think until a) i got extended wheel studs and b) started using the annodised/alloy nuts (open ended, required for extended studs); they dont spin on freely you see (due to coating). the rattle gun does it in 20% the time (or less). It really is a PITA with extended studs and the alloy nuts believe me stocker studs, nuts, easy. a few turns and they glide on/off too.
  17. Any idea where i can buy these Rays Daytona Racing steel items from?
  18. good advice, very true.
  19. ditto i assume at some point there will be an r36, and a VF commodore, but absolutely nothing is known about what it could, should or would be. have not seen anything of substance anyway.
  20. is that $3200 for a set? if so wow what a great price. sign me up. when can we get them
  21. There's always an element of risk with any tune, i guess more with a non-custom job yep. However a number of us have had a good experience with the willall tune, on relatively stock cars, seems to be backed up by track and independant dyno results which confirm the tune is good. So it's not an entirely uninformed decision.
  22. first i've heard of it. i have seen some mock up photochops, but nothing anywhere remotely near being into production.

    E85 For R35

i sually take a couple of jerry cans to the track with me anyway, so it's no extra work in that sense for me

    E85 For R35

interesting, thanks for the feedback. it helps! apparently the e85 injector of choice for r35's are the 950cc DW's

Interested to hear from those who have tried it locally (prefer sydney). I know martin has had success but would like to hear from "end users" too. If so, how did you found the practical realities; any tune compromises (cold start, driveability, whatever). What injectiors/fuel pumps you went with, sourcing fuel in Sydney (still only one location?) and is it believed that the quality and supply of the fuel is good/consistent? How would you manage swapping fuels or do you run e85 full time? thoughts?
