  1. I've run both the AP slotted and jhook replacement rotors and i'm very happy, great value and robust product. I have a set of bradied lines sitting here (not installed) so i don't know if they will be an improvement. For fluid i use brembo lcf 600, i bleed after each track event, i go through a lot of fluid. There are some reviews on the US forums about cheaper fluid which i think is just as good. Worth looking it up on nagtroc. p.s. the j-hooks are rather noisy on the street (click click sounds)
  2. there is definitely an 18" TE37 that fits the R35. a few people have run them. Don't expect anywhere in Australia to have these in stock though, especially in the staggered offset required for r35 (let me know if you do find a place!). Caliper clearance will be very small (2mm or 3mm if that)
  3. I think vsport in Sydney stock endless pads for r35's (ask for John, tell him duncan sent you )
  4. I am running the standard seat with a harness (just a four point). Looking to fit a race seat soon though.
  5. Well done guys, sounds like a lot of fun. Any more feedback on tyres, brakes? what tyres were you running?
  6. Yes the 18's are about availability (and cost) really. Also the 19" r-spec options (i think only 888's?) just don't compete with RE55's. So in my case 18" was the only choice (they dont make re55's biger than 18"). However on slicks the 19" Hoosier (or perhaps the Michelin 19") would be worth a look. I do think they will be a lot more expensive though, so i am not sure why anyone should bother. If you want a tyre that you can drive to the track and back, and run pretty close to slick shod times, get some 18" TE37's (or Enkei GTC01's) with 295 RE55's SR2's all round. No other road legal tyre is going to come close i reckon (would love to try the advan 50's but they dont make them big enough). If you dont care about being road legal and/or you're happy to swap the tyres at the track, perhaps the 19" slicks are good. Would love to get some feedback from the GT series R35 running them.
  7. I didnt know that, good pickup/find. If you must run 19's i would give them a good look. Otherwise the USA guys seem to love the hoosiers.
  8. Michelin PSC isnt going to compete against a good R compound let alone a real slick IMO. And i dont fancy you getting a proper slick in 19" either I think you are stick with the 888's (good luck) or Hoosier's (better)
  9. what a race, and streaming it via my TV browser worked well. that's the future of TV.
  10. too true. how interesting is this though. as usual the mountain throws up all sorts of shenanigans.
  11. gee wonder who's leading!
  12. Martin what are you max lateral g's now, vs say prior ro the slicks and/or wing? Might be handy to put a scale on the right hand of the chart

    Tpms

if i were to drive to the track with 18's i get the error yep. however if i swap them on at the track (with the OEM wheels in the garage at the track) i dont get the error (because of the reason mentioned above). frequent visits back to the garage (where the OEM wheel/tyres are) tricks the system into thinking they are on. is there any chance that your error you are getting with the TPMS sensor needs a reset, and the system isnt throwing any more errors until that is rectified?

ahh ok, so you have the OEM TPMS sensors in aftermarket wheels, but when you put the stocker wheels back on (without sensors) you do not get an error?

i believe it only checks for the presence of the TPMS sensors periodocally. ie. it will not throw an error straight away. one possibility is that you fit the new wheels, go for a 15 minute drive, park it back in the garage afterwards (where your OEM wheels are presumably) and in that time it communicates with the sensors on the OEM wheels stacked near the car. you then go for a drive again, then come back, it "resets" again. just a possibility. the other possibility is they are working fine (i hope so, because if so, i will be getting a set!)
  16. i dont really see the difference between this event and say, sprint bathurst. (save for the cost). it's about $600ea. btw, not that it matters i guess.
  17. that sounds insane
  18. not too quick i hope!

    My R35

hardware done and dusted. Martin, where is my E85 tune?
  20. Chris, you nominate your time from other tracks too. (EC, Wakefield, OP, PI, etc etc)
  21. if you can sign a bit of paper yielding permission for basically anyone to drive the car for you, then the rule is meaningless. may as well not have the rule.
  22. wow, that clip is just vomit inducing.
  23. To be frank i have no idea what porsche people they are talking about. But if it's the porsche club some of them do a flat minute around wakefield, 1:12's at OPGP and 1:35's at EC. I'm confused!
  24. wow, what times did you nominate on your forms? must be bloody fast! and what's the deal with the porsche cars, i guess they must be slow?
  25. I suppose being a regularity style event, it's not meant to be about outright speed. I am sure it will not stop some trying though.. For most it will be a (very inexpensive) way to try out the mountain at speed.
