  1. Funny you should mention that.........
  2. Cars entered are 2xR35's, 2xEvo's (quick ones) and 2x LSX V8's The speed argument is interesting, yesterday i got this bulletin from them
  3. sounds like a great result Martin, well done. A bit odd the wing bent the stocker boot lid, hmm. I wonder why aeromotions havent figured this would happen- given the apparent testing? can you give us some feedback on the wing, did you get any data and do you have any conclusions on that?
  4. Ahh that's disappointing. Any other reason why you pulled out? i think they've changed the format and regs quite a bit.
  5. Pretty obvious why they had crappy 1/4 mile (and 0~100) times
  6. So who is doing the Bathurst six hour this April? We have a team of six cars going. Can't wait! Any other SAU members signed up?
  7. Do you have a 997 GT3? perhaps we can arrange our own test FWIW i've run faster around wakefield in my GTR than the motor testers can achieve in the GT3. Much faster. And i am a rather ordinary novice. I am willing to bet the GT3 and GTR will be within a bees dick of each other though. Which is amazing considering the $100k price difference (and a lifetime of sportscar development the porsche supposedly has). p.s. If i could afford it, my next car probably would be a GT3, regardless.
  8. The enkei gtc01 18x10 with a 22mm offset fits fine. It will stick out in the front and in on the back. You could put a 15mm spacer on the back to even it out a bit. It doesnt look the best but it works. Heaps of caliper clearance on these rims (the best of ANY 18" you will find).
  9. ahh ok
  10. looks like fun! is your car blowing black smoke? or is that something else
  11. Nice work Martin, you are certainly a 'doer' what's it like to drive now?
  12. Sounds odd. Was it really "wet" 1:05's in the wet is FAST. What tyres did the GTR have? There would be at least 0.7 difference between the bridgestone and the dunlop (dunlop being fastest). I would be pretty happy running a 1:05.7 (if the track was actually wet, but i doubt it very much, it's just too fast for a stocker car on stocker rubber to run when it's raining). Also, i dont buy the maintence argument. You dont need to pay the earth if you know what you're doing (and that means you DONT go to Nissan). Another thing, 0.7s is hardly a "mauling"... far from it. Was it a PDK 997?
  13. asking $3000
  14. nobody in Sydney want a custom tune? I gained about 60rwkw from the tune alone.
  15. thrad miner ftw. fwiw since i've run XP12's, Hawks and XP72's the mx72's seem the best of the lot thus far.
  16. the biggest factor will be tyres i reckon
  17. I know of a couple of 35's that will be in the clubsprint class
  18. Like i was saying i was getting the clicking, just turning left. Put the car up on stands and with no load on the wheel, and with wheel turning...no ticking. Anyway i had to replace the pads anyway... So i did remove the pad pins and re-install again. Also the tie rod end nut was not very tight, i could tighten a couple of turns. After i did all this and put it all back together the noise was gone! So unfortunately i can't isolate where the noise was coming from exactly. It's either the tie rod or something related to the caliper. It doesnt look like a stuffed CV. Interestingly also, i noticed the tie rod end cotter pin can rattle around, when you move it with your finger it sounds a hell of a lot like the noise in question.... tick tick tick... so i tapped it down tighter. Anyway the noise is totally gone for now i will let you know if it comes back. Relieved it's not a CV.
  19. great vid Stu and congrats on the time mate! truely sensational to run a flat 15. The 50's were really working for you and Ovi. Whata mess the r35 is with those dunlops, yuk. I was waiting for them to come on in that first session, and they never did (all day). I've never experienced the r35 move arund the track like that, and essentially refuse to turn in. Dunlop 290/68/18's (D21's) - don't bother! Back to the michelins next round.

    Gear 'grind'

FWIW = for what it's worth

    Gear 'grind'

fwiw i havent noticed any such thing with my car.
  22. I think it's all R35's (with the feature) but could be wrong. A tap like that could easily happen on the track, so i would be interested to hear from anyone that knows how to deactive the feature and/or replace with standard hinges?
  23. goodluck with these. what hot pressures are you thinking of running?

    Roof Plastic Seal

both times i got a stone chip (i think at the track) and i left it too long, the cracks just got bigger and bigger. R35 screens are expensive so if you get a crack, get one of those repair thingos straight away (so you dont need to replace the whole screen).

    Roof Plastic Seal

No idea really but i would say the Nissan guys would know more than the windscreen blokes. How many 35 windscreens have been replaced in Australia to date? Probably less than half a dozen (and two of them have been mine, lol) If you need someone in Sydney to swap a screen over send me a PM, i know someone who has done a a number of r35 screens (did the justjap cars too) and he is mobile, and is a good guy. Otherwise you could print out the photo above and show anyone at least i guess. Probably just helps a lot to know where the clips are.
