  1. Does it matter if the pressure sensor for PFC boost controller reads from the manifold or not?????? It would be much easier for me to "t" piece it into one of the hoses that comes from one of the intercooler pipes but obviously then it wont read any vacum, only boost.
  2. Just on this topic, Does the Map sensor for the boost controller need to read negative pressure from the manifold, will it be quite happy just to be plumbed into a intercooler pipe? Thanks.
  3. Hey all Just finished fitting my 040 in tank to my 33. I have a separate relay for the pump that draws power direct from the battery. The original fuel pump power supply is the trigger for the relay to switch on. The relay is earthed straight to the body work and power runs straight form the relay to the pump after the relay has been triggered. When i first turn the ignition on the relay clicks on and the pump starts pumping. If i dont start the engine, the 040 will continue to pump for a few seconds and eventually the relay will click off, as the ignition cuts power to the relay after a time lapse if there is no engine start. PROBLEM. The relay will switch off but the 040 still continues to pump, although it does so at a slower speed. I have put a test light to the original fuel pump power supply, which is now my relay trigger, there is no power but the pump is still going. Somehow there is power going through the relay to the pump. I dont know why???? Im thinking it is a stuffed relay but i tried another relay and it did the same thing. I used Navara standard four pin relays on both occasions???? However, if i drive the car for a while, come back and turn the engine off, the relay will click and the pump stops completely???? WTF???
  4. just about to throw a power fc into my 33. Since Boostworx has been highly recommended by most on this forum ill let them run it on the dyno and tune it. Does anyone know if boosworx has an email?? if not a contact no.?? Thanks.
  5. If anyone has a spare RB25DET crank pulley that they want to get rid off, give me a pm. Thanks.
  6. Thanks guys, I talked to guy who thinks hes got one, he just has to find it. See how it goes.
  7. Not real big, probably could still use it, but id rather have a pulley thats not broken. Sorry cant post pic as i dont have a scanner or dig camera. Might ask some of the local jap wreckers if they have a spare one.
  8. In the process of replacing a water pump on rb25det. Pulled crank pulley off and then dropped the thing on the concrete. Result, one pulley with a nice chunk missing from one side. So now i need another pulley. Would the VL pulley be the same or where can i source another rb25det pulley. Any help appreciated. Cheers.
  9. On the side of the block there is a plug to drain the water from the water jackets around the cylinders, dont know if people actually do this or they just do similar to what you have mentioned. In the work shop manual it recomends to undo the plug to let the water drain from there as well as from the radiator hoses.
  10. I am interested mate and im in Adelaide, Id llike to know where you got the quote for tyres at $220 each????
  11. Did you need to roll the guards to fit, Do they scrub on the inside of the guards???
  12. If the autometer oil press guage is electric it will come with its own sender, im not sure if you can run the factory sender with the autometer guage, i believe you need the autometer sender to work the autometer guage, if you want both factory and autometer guages to work install both senders. A t piece arrangement can be bought that goes into the original factory sender spot and will allow you to run both senders, did this with my ET pulsar.
  13. Took mine to Adelaide Clutch Services and they said it still had decent life in it, so its going into the car as soon as i can find the time.
  14. GTST rotor is 296mm in diameter, GTR is about 330mm in diameter (i think) hence the brembo calliper has been designed/made to be placed slightly further out from the hub to run on the larger diameter disk. Not sure about thickness but. I think theyre similar
  15. $400 for a PWR radiator, good score SK. VL turbo radiator, they are made of brass and copper arent they, I see Unique auto sports sell a larger radiator for the r33 for $490, thats a brass and copper radiator, i wonder if it just happens to be a VL radiator, very interesting, UAS also have pwr radiators for $770 to.
  16. What are the PWR raiators worth roughly, I think i am lookin at about $700-$900 here in Adelaide for a custom job.
  17. Have been doin some track work at Malalla lately and noticed that water temp started to rise. Further inspection of radiator revealed hole in core, luck i stopped lapping the circuit before it overheated. Now i thought that since ive got to take the radiatior out to repair or replace i might as well take advantage of the fact and install a larger radiator. Is the gtr radiator any larger than 33 gtst, ive heard that a vl commodore radiator is larger and will work, can anyone provide any info, would be much appreciated. failing either of the above i will go with a custom aluminium job.
  18. Where is impressive paint and panel?
  19. A STANDARD 80 series is 2300kg yes, Standard 80 series will have one 95ltr fuel tank + an additional 50ltr sub tank, ours still has the 95ltr one but the 50 ltr tank has been replaced with a 170ltr tank for extra range. Total fuel = 265ltrs. Also have steel bull bar with 9000lb warn winch, replacement steel rear bar with spare wheel carrier (needed because the 170ltr tank takes up the space of the spare wheel underneath, hence shift spare wheel onto swing bracket attached to new rear bumper) also have removed third row of seats and replaced with drawer system which is full of tools and recovery gear, and then theres the engel fridge etc, it all starts to add up. Cooling the air to much for a diesel will result in power loss, Diesels do not have spark plugs to ignite cumbustion, it is done by compression ignition and heat. Diesels will usually run about the 20:1 mark, the high pressure causes the diesel to combust in the cylinder the heat helps this process, thats why diesels are equipped with "glow plugs" to warm them up a bit on cold start. To cold an induction can actually affect the engines ability to combust the diesel fuel totally and hence effect power. (I thinks thats the theory anyway).
  20. My dad has an 80 series turbo diesel landcruiser. In stock trim it doesnt have an intercooler or any form of electronic fuel injection (rotary fuel pump). First thing we did to it was fit a 3 inch exhaust from the turbo back, gave an excellent improvement in power and torque, especially in the lower and middle rev range around the 1700 to 3000 rpm mark, boost rose from about 9 psi to 13 psi. Next was a large frount mount intercooler, power and torque again rose noticeably. We also fitted a air ram snorkel. Its a pipe that runs from the air filter, outside the front guard and up along the A pillar with a scoop on the top to collect cold air from the roof line, has a ram effect when you are driving along, also gave a noticeable improvement. At 4200 rpm in 5th it easil does over 170 km hr, The landcruiser weighs in at 2900kg on the weighbridge. It gets to 170 very easily for a vehicle of its size and is dying for another gear to keep going. Apparently you can lift the boost on these slightly more without to much trouble but need to adjust the fuel pump to deliver more fuel. Also have heard that someone (CAPA?) make a highflow turbo for the cruiser, i am keen to give this a try but funds limit. Towing is also fantastic cruiser=2900kg + boat= 1600kg total weight =4500kg, still gets up and over the 140kmhr
  21. Who did the respray, did they do a good job? Thinking about getting the chips and scratches in my car taken out, getting sick of people opening their car doors on my car.
  22. Dont know about the offsets mate but i saw a r33 gtst in a car yard with 34 gtr rims, wheels seemed to have plenty of clearance within the guards, the car wasnt lowered though and the wheels didnt extend out past the guards
