mate that is the scenario for criminal offences and trials. but these sorts of matters are ones of administration - think immigration, customs etc - where the government bodies (ie. vicroads) are given broad powers to, say, check your exhaust dB levels to make sure they comply with regulations in the interests of the greater community. don't get me wrong i think it's taken a bit too far myself, but i'm just telling you how it is. and before you ask, yes there are mechanisms in place to keep these authorities in check - how effective they are is another matter altogether. oh and in case you were wondering, i have studied this sort of thing before. infact it was the 33 gtr vspec that broke 8 minutes.. but i read in a wheels magazine that the 1st production car to break 8 minutes was infact the jaguar xj220. haven't been able to find any confirmation online though.

how do you plan to fund a 34 gtr considering you just finished high school? let me know your secret!

depends on your goals i guess mate. 200rwkw can be had pretty easily with either car... i would get the 33.. but hey i have a manual r33 so im biased towards them i reckon if 18k for the 34 is pushing your budget, spending another 3.5k getting it converted to manual would be even worse. take a look at the cars for sale on the forums, you could probably get a manual 34 with a few mods for similar money if the 34 looks are what you're after. either way let us know how your purchase goes, and good luck Ric

BNR32 is taken. have seen it somewhere. and btw, a 33 gtr is a BCNR33*. you'd be a bit of a goose to get BNR33 lol
