i have always thought a good policy was to have the RMS values of your amp and speakers roughly matching. so 55w RMS x 4 should be fine for your 4 60w RMS speakers. Focal speakers ROCK by the way have a set in my 33. well worth the coin Ric

Tyson, 1. splits are speakers that have a separate tweeter for you to position up closer to your ears.. like what you've got. other speakers (called 'coaxials') have the woofer [bass] and tweeter [high frequency] in one, like this --> http://www.onlineelectronicmall.com/images/140.jpg splits are usually more expensive, and rightly so because the ability to position the tweeter wherever you like is important, usually making for better sound quality. 2. an amplifier is what it sounds like man, it amplifies the signal, meaning louder music your head unit has an in-built amplifier which isn't too powerful, so buying a separate dedicated amplifier is usually the go. this will give your speakers the extra 'juice' they need to operate at maximum efficiency. if you just plan to have the 4 speakers and no sub, a good 4 channel amp is what you need. this is the route i've taken, splits up front / 6x9s in the rear all running off a 4 channel amp. hope i have cleared some things up for you Ric

Year: 1996 Model: gtst Trans: manual Fault/cons: 1. it's bumpy as hell.. having to go 15km/h over bumps gets annoying 2. oil filter location.. it's directly above steering racks n stuff.. oil spews all over stuff when i change the filter 3. the f&*kin beeping when you leave the keys in/lights on etc etc... Other comments: i love my skyline to bits so i don't wanna list more things.. lol. all these "faults" are so minor anyway. regrets about buying skyline = 0
