  1. But that also protects me from getting defected right? As far as I know, no it doesn't. It just means that when you go to get the defect cleared, the inspector can cite the engineer's notice. But I'm not 100% sure.
  2. great news...now change the locks on it too?
  3. the other thing i should have mentioned is that there will come a time when a modified car will not be uppermost in his mind. When the time comes for him to settle down and buy a house, he won't want this awful black mark on his credit history. if he sells up, maybe he can patch things up with the workshop before things get ugly! good luck mate.
  4. i agree with noise - it really doesn't sound like he could handle the sudden costs that owning a modified car can bring. Also, I'd never counsel someone to go into debt over a depreciating asset, so borrowing the money, to my mind, would be a bad idea. I think sell the car, pay the workshop, learn the lesson, get on with life debt-free and still with the ability to get back into the import scene at a later date. My 2c.
  5. GO THE GYOZA!!!!!
  6. this really sucks mate. i hope they didn't do too much damage...
  7. hi all, i think i might be needing a set of r32 gtr rims for rego in a few months (i.e. when it arrives). does anyone have a set i might be able to borrow? maybe also an exhaust too. i wasn't sure if i'd bother importing again, but here we are. cheers, sigi
  8. >Therefore, make sure you choose a car in japan with good tyres Those 'good tyres' will come right off if they're not DOT rated, in favour of ones that are. Here in the ACT, that's one of the first things the rego inspectors check.
  9. dont be greedy, frink. a 32 gtr will be fine.
  10. guys can we again turn our minds to not listing the locations of PARKED SKYLINES. it's a thief magnet.
  11. "So Baldrick let me get this straight. You're saying that something which you have never seen is slightly less blue than something else which you have never seen?"
  12. Doraemon makes a good point about the airport - take the airport limousine bus or the skyliner train (has a better name lol). don't take a taxi.
  13. spotted a silver r33 in civic last night near chairman yip. nasty dent in rear quarter. supplier reports it to run well.
  14. crikey that's a big oil cooler!
  15. spotted twice on hindmarsh yesterday a black s2 r33 with silver 18" rims. very nice!
  16. Family mart is extremely popular over there, like 7-11 or Sunkus. They're a type of covenience store. Someone else may know better than I do, but you'd go to just about any Family Mart and you should be able to pay for and pick them up over the counter. They probably won't be tickets as you know them, they may be just little dockets or something. Or maybe just a reference printout. And while you're there, pick up a sweet Georgia milk coffee. YUM.
  17. >How about My Trading in Japan ?????? What about your trading in Japan? Ah ha! Anyway, I can say that Mark was really good when I was just hunting around. No money had yet changed hands and he was always keen to talk and send me photos.
  18. mate it doesn't matter what we all say - dotars have the last say, and what they say goes. for what it's worth, my dereg paper was this crummy third generation photocopy, i could barely read it. i don't even know how deeply the rta read it. i am also of the opinion that dotars will probably be helpful in this case, if you just explain what's going on. be sure to keep us posted.
  19. i needed dereg papers for my '89 gtst.
  20. well in the meantime i guess i'll just keep going back to tempe or going with jdm imports. ozzy tyres seem to be more expensive. but then i'm not a tyre connoisseur.
  21. >those cars were fugly in particular that cordia the blue one with the injekt'd sticker and massive chromies? and incidentally, anyone know when the injekt'd website will be up?
