    Pits!

I can pretty much guarantee you wont get over with the fibreglass bonnet/guards, unless you know someone. Also i doubt youll find your intercooler is actually cold...... it just cools down the hot air passing through.

    Pits!

The pit inspector i know works at Midland, he modifys cars. Might be your best bet. As far as im aware though you cant have fibreglass bonnet/guards on a car newer than mid 90s or so.
  4. But they were only released so they could run them in motorsport....
  5. ok will watch when i get home then.
  6. too graphic for me to watch at work? shopping centre.
  7. weather isnt that bad, low interest rates, low tax rates, wages are fine as long as you arent a bar attendant i have a mate whos a lawyer over there bringing in the money, and another mate of mine owns a car shop also bringing in the money. Not to mention incredibly low housing prices.
  8. *grabs pitchfork* In all seriousness im looking at moving to malaysia. Went there for a holiday, mountain passes, cops who can be paid off, cheap cost of living, win?
  9. Im constantly changing my spark plugs, every 5000kms when i do my oil and filters. Helps that my uncle works at coventries so i get his price, but still.
  10. Anything happening? Ive got nothing on this weekend.
  11. I used to get pulled over ALOT but that was when i was on my p's. Since then i dont get pulled over as much and i wouldnt call myself a hoon but I drive a little spiritedly at times. (Note. i rarely go over the speed limit i just dont slow down that much for corners.) I think it has more to do with when and where you drive the car though as i used to get pulled over alot on friday nights, stopped at every booze bus i ever went through then asked to pull over while they look at the car. I think this topic has really been done to death though on pretty much every car forum ever, its really quite simple, turn off the music, lose the attitude, go along with whatever they want, know whats legal and illegal on your car, take whatever they give you on the chin and be prepared for it to happen again as you are driving an import.
  12. +1
  13. or wondering why your mums car wont go into drive when you dont have your foot on the brake. Who the hell drives auto anyway ...
  14. I agree in every way man. Unfortunately its just not gonna happen.
  15. Confirmed, Turbo timers are NOT illegal. Walking away from your car whilst its still running IS illegal, it's something like 5 metres. Bit of a loophole really but hey whatever. On a side note unfortunately alot of cops really dont know what they are looking at and the person who i rang to confirm this whinges about it all the time, alot of cars go through that are perfectly legal but unfortunately theres not much we can do about it. Just try not to piss off the cop and if possible know about your mods and the legalities behind them so you can explain it to the officer. If he yellows you anyway then thats unfortunate but its better than him asking you about it and you just shrugging. N.B. My brothers in the police academy and he knows nothing about cars, his sargeants that he works with also know nothing about cars but seem so convinced they are right, unfortunately i'd say 80% of regular cops dont know enough about it.
  16. As far as im aware turbo timers are NOT illegal, ill get confirmation on this and get back to you. Im 90% sure its illegal to leave your car running and walk away from it but the turbo timer itself is not illegal to be installed in your car as long as your sitting in it waiting for it to turn off. Ill ring a pit inspector that i know and get back to you on this.
  17. I have nothing in my boot and there is very very small difference in the sound.
  18. I always thought this was one of those things that everyone knew about until my 23 yr old sister came to me about it....
  19. understeer ftl. Tough luck dude, can hardly blame the tyre pressure though..
  20. Yes sir, No sir, (insert speed limit here) sir, stock sir, sure, ok, no problems, oh really I hadn't noticed, ok sir, have a good night. No yellows yet.
  21. Sorry just a quick note on the petrol. I know its OT but the mods can just split the topic if one notices? The taxing of commodities like petrol in an economy like ours with the limited resources available and the environmental impacts that burning it has should always be quite high. This discourages consumption and forces people to look towards alternate means which a) preserves the life of the rare resource and b) reduces the environmental effects of the petrol. Granted with a commodity so widely used and depended upon steep jumps in price are never a good thing as it causes push inflation and reduces discretionary spending which slows growth. Considering the current financial crisis and the slowdown in growth worldwide the reduction in the price of petrol is really quite well timed to stimulate a bit of action in the economy. On a final note, electric cars. The amount of emmissions and greenhouse gases released in the production of the batteries for those things means that you have to drive the car for something like 5 years ( cant remember the exact figure) before the savings in petrol actually make up for the huge production emissions. However noone seems to want to hear that.
  22. Good point.
  23. ive had mixed opinions about using a different timing belt. The fact is how different can it really be? Is my car reallllly operatin at over 5k rpm at all times that it needs one? I just really think theres no point. On a side note i was gonna do all the seals in the first place, comes in the timing belt kit. I dont really know why anyone buys a belt on its own.
  24. Its really just so cheap to do, then its one more headache down the drain.
  25. Got a photo of it at all? Ill keep an eye out dude. Everyones nightmare.
