Not One Single Definitive Fuel Level Sender Thread
Travis Bickle replied to Travis Bickle's topic in General Maintenance
awesome. 14 views. well, i managed to finish it myself, and in case anyone is wondering, it sits to the right of the fuel pump on the front wall of the tank. it is canted at an angle with the bottom closest to the front of the car and the top slanted toward the trunk there is a prong, about 2cm that sits horizontally, and points to the passenger side of the car. there is a hoop on one side of the fuel sender. that is the front. catch the hoop on the prong and slide it to the driver side of the car. you will feel a positive click when it is in place. re-install, go drive your car down the road and hit a pot hole so it can fall off again, while your coilpacks are arcing causing a misfire. terrific cars. /thread -
does it say motorcycle on it? i have osme motul 3000 10w40 here for my bike and it is labeled "motorcycle" motorcycles use internal (to the crank case) wet clutches and transmissions so the oil is more viscous. check motuls site. this is more of a google question.

I have a 33 gtst, and as most do, the fuel level sender has come off its bracket in the tank. before i made this thread i spent an hour up to my elbow in fuel, crouched in my trunk and another 30 minutes on this site reading all the threads on the subject. they all say something to the affect of "it just slides onto the bracket next to the fuel pump" ok well thats great. BUT, does it go horizontally, vertically, how is it orientated? keep in mind, this has to be all done by feel, you cant see inside your tank unless you toss a flashlight in there. can someone draw up a quick paint diagram?

nah, he was being a smart ass about track cars always having tape as if it was a fashion statement. if not, i apologize, this is a pretty multi-cultural forum, and sometimes i dont pick up on aussie-ness too well. -
the Autech tsukada "tuoho gtr" that was in the september edition of option under the "great looking cars" section. its an r33, and is definately the most gangster skyline out there. problem is, there isnt a damn picture of it on the internet.

this is what i was talking about. your rims should have 10 holes in them or recesses. if they dont, there is a special tool for cutting lug studs so they are flush and bur free. or be a man, put 20mm spacers on there and roll your fenders. rolling your fenders buys yourself 10mm easy.
-
if you do more than 5-10mm you have to replace your studs. they wont be long enough no safely retighten your wheels. thats why they are probably illegal where you guys are from. they dont want every moron losing wheels on the road because they tried to add 20mm of spacing to a lug stud thats only 25mm long. the safest, easiest route would be to leave the stock studs and purchase, as some have said, 15-20mm bolt on hub adapters. they are about 8000yen per pair. also, be advised, that with a bolt on hub adapter of 15mm or less, your original 5 lugs will probably poke thru then, which is ok if those wheels have 10 holes in them, or recesses for the excess stud length to fit into. if they are 20mm, theyll probably cover all 5 of your stock studs. anyone whos dicked with these a ton knows what im talking about.
-
anyone convert to a blow thru? im curious as to the specifics and it might solve a lot of problems. could someone outline the process?
-
if you were just talking about washing it, then use simple green and spray it off. do it while the engine is warm, but not hot. now, unless you want to do it again the follwoing week, dont coat it with something thats going to attract a ton of dirt. now, if you were talking technical, and you want to hide some wires and hoses, youll have to get creative. log onto honda-tech.com, and search the "wire tuck engine bay thread" youll be pretty amazed that some of them even run.

youve obviously never been on a track. track workers would rather pick up one tape encrusted piece of plastic when you f**k up your car, than sweep a big scattered mess off the track. -

Cleaning The Inside Of The Headlight
Travis Bickle replied to and3_3's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
a real heat gun should be enough but if it isnt i would put the oven on something low like 250 for about 8 minutes. the guys do their honda ones all the time to make them look like "CTR" headlights. before i pulled them apart though, i would highspeed buff the outside with some compound and a sponge pad, just like you would do a dulling paint suface. makes them look like new again. -

Travis Bickle replied to Travis Bickle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if the deck height is the same on the 25 and 30 blocks, then you could order the kit with the diameter you need i suppose. i dont know the deck heights or bores off hand. -

my taste is function over form. if the flares will help me get 295-305 tires with ) offset under the the car, then they look tits to me. -
R33 Gts-t Wheel And Tyre Sizes
Travis Bickle replied to OO Skyline OO's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
define "jdm" look. i was running -6 rear and -4 front 17x9 with 215 tires for awhile. got sick of pizza cutter tires, now im +10 17x9 with a 255 tire, all 4 fenders rolled. youre not going to get the "jdm" look without rolling your fenders. people here do it for 40 bucks a fender with the rolling tool and a heat gun -

ill put something up when its finished cosmetically. those CCW custom wheels are only 2350USD by the way. about, or more, than one would pay for some pizza cutter width volks with offsets that soar like falcon. they are an american site that caters more to corvette owners (about the only american car that can use an 11-12in wheel) so not too many people know about them. -

the car in the original post is a gtst. CCW is making me a set of 18x11 "classics" so i can use 295-305mm tires with a +10 offset. ill probably still space them another 5-10mm so they fill the flares out. the center will be shotpeened graphite grey, lip polished, 4inch lip. first of all, yea im looking for more width but im also concerned with rubber patch on the road as its a 600ish hp BC stroked RWD car. im just looking for all the traction i can get. sure it will look like a steamroller but it'll hook better than a 18x9 rim with a 255 tire and handle better too. cosmetically, they look awesome to me, theyre going on with a gtr replica bumper, hasemi sideskirts and an abflug rear bumper/diffuser, FRP doors, hasemi canards. to each his own. i have had a picture in my head for 4 months while collecting this pile of parts and these were the last piece other than the spoiler. (voltex) i was able to track them down in the UK, the abflug ones. they look a skoach differnet than the ones pictured but i found the ones i want. function before form. its all going into the paint booth first week of january for a full fitting and respray, r33 gtr white with double the clear coat, jambs and all. -

but no one can confirm or deny my suspicion that those are indeed Abflug flares? -
they are forged, stronger and lighter end of story. if you dont care about that, dont knock the people who do. its the oldest argument in the car scene and i have never understood why people who want to cheap out think they can bash the people who dont mind spending 2750 bucks for wheels. i checked ou those DTM wheels and IMO the are heavy, ugly and the offsets are terrible. who in their right mind would put a +42 offset wheel on their RWD car? i dunno, just picture how heavy an already heavy wheel will be with 30mm of backspacers or hub adapters on them so they dont sit so far up in your fender that they are sslapping your suspension. my advice, browse the internet, find yourself a used set of genuine, non-knock off, forged wheels on ebay or yahoo auctions. another option: for 2300 or so, complete custom wheel (CCW) will make you whatever the hell you want. thats the route im going. (18x11 +10 for a 305mm tire.)

i finally found a decent picture of the flares i have been hunting for 3+ months, i think they are Abflug. here you go.
