The "end All" On Rb25 Coilpack Failure Misfires?
Travis Bickle posted a topic in General Maintenance
I am somewhat new to skylines. previously i owned a gti vr6 which is notorious for coilpack failures due to super high underhood temps. i never gave it much thought on the skyline until it started to misfire the other day. i started with the obvious and tightened all intercooler piping ect ect. it had to have been the coilpacks at this point so before i went out and spent 600 bucks on splitfires i decided to take a look at what i was working with. i pulled all 6 off individually and sprayed them with chem elect cleaner to get a better look. immediately upon looking at the epoxy they are made of, i thought "oh damn, its a single version of the VR6 coil" (the VR coil has all six prongs on one unit) simple fix, cost me 3 dollars and i probably wont have to do it again. JB WELD jb weld, is good to 600 degrees C and is the same composition, albiet a bit stronger than the epoxy on the coils. lightly coat the expoxy area on the coilpack that is cracked. let dry. i even used the fast setting kind, as i have used this on my VR with great results. is it ghetto? as i have always said "if you do a great job is hard to tell you have done anything at all" i just did mine, and it runs like new. i didnt take any pics, but here is a picture of a VR6 coilpack with the JB weld on it for reference. hope this saves someone 597 bucks and a ton of headaches. -
care to post details on how that was accomplished? im pretty sure i know how, but i am curious as to how YOU did it.

did some more searching yesterday as i was also curious, there are 2-3 shops in japan that have them, including URAS, so if you wanna talk to your boy Nomuken you can get a set, but i would say they are hardly worth it, IMO.

before i made this thread i searched for a month. i live in japan so i have every drift tengoku magazine, option magazine ect ect, i have scoured the net. the only thing i have found is, 1 tiny tiny picture of a silver R33 with abflug flares, but he car is so incredibly riced out that its not an accurate representation of that they would actually look like. also, there is a car by ATTK'D called the "tuoho GTR" its a white R33 gtr with abflug flares and its in option2 from about july/aug time frame. i have never seen the viva garage over fenders on a 33 gtst. supposedly they are +20 or so, so it would make it look like a GTR in the rear. but, they only go up to the body line, half way up the panel, so they would look liek total shit if you sk me. thats why i am leaning toward the flare route. but there just arent many R33s out there with flares, let alone 33 specific flares and not universal units. C&Y sports, a prevelant tuning shop is about 3 mins from my house, and they have a silver one in their showroom with flares and a 26 swap, but they got the flares off an old ciffy. i would hate to think i would be one of only a handful to try out the abflug flares on an R33, but the fact is, i just havent seen them out there. i guess if you come across anything post it. thanks. "cheers mate" lol.

I just read a thread on zilvia.net about these wheels, which was little more than a ton of kids cackling at each other, but at 9.5J for their max width, i could not imagine using these for anything more than a front on a skyline. thats pure pizza cutter.

i find this statement to be completely hilarious. you could not spell your way out of a wet paper bag and cant even post one complete unfragmented thought. its ok, i blame your school teachers and your parents. they failed you, miserably. LOL turd sniffer? what f**king grade are you in there buddy? LOL. i feel less intelligent for even responding to your incoherent rambling. look up incoherent. its a great word. here are some helping hints: forget is one word, not 2. your and you're are 2 different words name calling pretty much dies in elementary school keep those in mind when responding to people who build their cars, rather than dropping them off at a shop with a barrel of parts and a couple paychecks. that ties in with the "brain" thing. but again, i blame it all on your parents.

Boost Controller Install Did Nothing
Travis Bickle replied to Travis Bickle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
tried this. reconnected the unit. nothing. before boost controller install car boosts .7bar after boost controller install car boost .5bar and its not adjustable. im ripping it out and throwing it away unless someones got a suggestion. at the least i gained the knowledge of installing a piece of shit so it will be that much easier when i get something that actually works and install it. -
Boost Controller Install Did Nothing
Travis Bickle replied to Travis Bickle's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so pull the hose off the back of the unit, force air into it and listen for the solenoid? ill try. -
i live in japan and i have been driving around all day, butchering japanese while asking "what the f**k?" at all the speed shops i frequent. its a grid dbc 2001. installed correctly as far as i know. read on. the hose from the back of the unit is T'd into the hose for the boost gauge which goes to the intake manifold of course. the solenoid has one hose going to the internal wastegate actuator, the other hose is going to the intake manifold. all using the correct sized hose. the solenoid has a 3rd hole, which i left open, per the instructions. i tired it both plugged and open, it made no difference. its hooked up to a 12v power source and grounded to the chassis. thats not an issue, it comes on and lights up real pretty. the stock solenoid has been capped off, but i left the plug connected, so i dont get a CEL. there are no leaks. now, what is the car doing? the same f**king thing it was doing before i spent 3 hours installing the thing. boosting to 0.6-0.7kg/cm2 maybe even less then STOCK, due to the added vacuum lines? i crank the knob on the controller all the way to max (3bar) and it doesnt make a damn bit of difference. basically, i am assuming the unit is just broken, but then why would the car boost the same as stock? what did i do wrong, if anything? suggestions? im about 20 minutes away from ripping it out and throwing it away.

Need Advice From All U Drifters
Travis Bickle replied to suburban drifter's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i would search around. it sounds to me like you want a turn-key vehicle and dont want to build anything. bought not built. so i would find something like a cefiro or laurel that someones already built for drift, buy it, wreck it, sell it whatever. -
Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
Travis Bickle replied to boostin_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
<golf clap> nice explanation. GTRs are better because.....they're just better. LOL. sorry for the double post but i just want ot reitterate that if youre the type of guy who just buys a car, leaves it relatively how it is, and gets a new one every 2 years, then get a GTR, but dont EVER call yourself an enthusiast, call yourself a FANBOY. if you believe in building your own hotrod, get whatever you want because youre going to swap it all out anyway. -
Gtr Vs Gtst Huge Difference In Performance?
Travis Bickle replied to boostin_r33's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
congrats. you just named everything a true enthusiast changes almost immedately after buying a car. when it really comes down to it, the only difference between a modded to hell GTST and a modded to hell GTR is the AWD. end of story. if you guys want to run aorund racing every jit you see on the street in a sotck car, then get the GTR. If youre a builder, get the cheaper/lighter car and build it. when it all comes down to it, 3 grand thrown under the hood of a B-series Honda is enough to talk a stock GTR from a roll. -

Travis Bickle replied to Travis Bickle's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
congrats captian obvious. apprently i can rely on you for what i already know. look at the thread title. then look at the "URL" of the picture i posed. i have established who makes that kit. the question was.... "does anyone make anythign similiar for the R33" not "whats this?!" thanks but no thanks. yes im going for the riveted look. ill probably go with abflug fender flares. i need a way to get -15 offset 18x10s with 265 tires on there. -
Rocket Bunny Style Widebody Kit For R33?
Travis Bickle posted a topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
does anyone make a widebody kit for the R33 that is even remotely similiar to the S13/14 rocket bunny kit? here are pics for reference: pure sex, i know. -
has anyone ever made a list of the sizes (diameter & length) so if someone wanted to replace them all in one pop they could. just a little inventory. pardon my SAE measurements but im thinking the TB one is 3.5in and 4in long, the hot pipe one is about 4-5in long and 2.5in in diameter... retarded thread i know, but if osmeone has already made one, a link would be awesome. car is R33 w/ RB25det

i read page 3 of that thread and just saw to women bickering at each other about who knows more than the other.
