Black33: What they're talking about is revving really high before changing up to 2nd/3rd so when you get it in gear & release the clutch it starts the wheels spinning........ You can do it in pretty much any car in 2nd, but it takes power and a sticky clutch to do 3rds........

I would recommend that your friend gets rid of his ugly assed 300zx & gets something better...... But seriously, if the timing belt went & he was still driving it would have done some pretty serious damage to the engine...... When buying a car with that many km's on it the timing belt is the first thing you should check...... I'm not sure about where you are, but in NSW all 2nd hand cars bought from dealers are under a mandatory 3 month dealer warranty. Too bad that it was 4 months before it happened.....

I don't really use them all that much..... I got pulled over once when I didn't realise I had them on, but the cop didn't mention them at all......I was pretty amazed because they're really bright.

Yep....It's the ECU. Get an SAFC or a new ECU & it will disappear. So I've heard......

I saw one of these on a Nismo edition R33 GTS-t (Full nismo bodykit & exhaust)....A guy came asking whether or not anyone knew how to fix them because his was frozen.... I remember him being referred to an auto electrician's in marrickville.......sorry I can't be of any more help than that though.
