  1. Thanks mate Yea will experiment with less boost next time.. wish there was a video of mine from outside so i can hear it lol
  2. Yep, had a go. Did a 28.7sec for my first time out there(but with lots of backing off and traction issue's lol, so should be prepared better next time). I have 285's v70's on there but they are hard compound as i got them cheap. I tried doing a decent burnout to warm them up but got a warning from the officials lol, I'll try again next time with softer compounds and hopefully get more time on the track to get use to it (not many goe's due to the accident)
  3. Good to meet you boys, i also had fun for my first time there and i'm also burnt red hot lol. P.S. thanks for the shade and drinks I need less boost! hehe
  4. location map doesnt seem to work? if only screamers were allowed, id be in
  5. What qstarz did you buy, just the gps thingy? if so, you then need to download racechrono software on your phone and it will automatically search tracks if/when your near them(thats the feature of the racechrono software, not the gps unit). If yours is the qstarz all in one(gps and lap timer) then im not sure... hopeful;ly someone will know. What i would like to know... if your doing a hill climb where theres a start and finish line, how would you setup your racechrono for that? I know you can tell it where the start and finish lines are, but that requires you to know exactly where they are... on hillclimbs i dont know! and if you set it while there at the start line(a bit hard as you have to move along pretty quickly), how would you set the finish line as you pass it at who knows what speeds?
  6. Revolution racegear or motorsport connection have them
  7. Yea same,i need to replace my padding. I read the rule started 1st/1/14,so we have to have those ugly fia padding.
  8. Thanks mate. Ive filled it out, payed and emailed, so i should be in Now to get the car ready lol. P.S. if you click "list of entrants" on the download page, you will see who's in at the time. i believe i see you on that list.
  9. Hey bud, im thinking of entering, but a bit confused as to how. Do i just print out the entry form, fill it out/sign it and send them the file together with my payment receipt? What email do i send to, im blind, cant seem to see which email to send the entry form to! Is the scrutineer on the day at Huntley? Would you say i would be classed as SVM? (jza80 supra, single turbo etc etc). Appreciate the help and from anyone else that knows cheers
  10. Hey guys. I was a paid member of this club, but i let it ( and my cams licence ) lapse when my car was off the road. Now that im back and wanting to enter events again... i need to renew my SAUNSW club membership... so can i get some info on how do i do that or do i simply PM Shell and ask her to send me payment details? I dont know if it matters if i have let the membership lapse? Ill try to PM her now anyway, but im reading she may be busy. Same with CAMS, ill just have to email them once ive paid up for club member again. cheers
  11. Hey guys, Im not happy with my current cams affiliated membership club and am looking to switch over to saunsw club if possible? So just to double check, i just have to fill out the form, send it and pay the required amount($50?) to the club account? Also, i dont own a skyline, im a supra owner and i have attended some events with you guys previously and find that you guys are a good bunch, so i have no issues being a member as long as thats ok with you guys as well? Lastly, do you guys also remind people when they're membership is due? via email or other... My last club never did and there were times when i forgot about it and didnt realise its out of date until i entered an cams event and needed it, but it would be too late to enter that said event. So reminders would be well appreciated if possible? thanks and looking forward to your reply and future events with this club Danny
  12. Yea Travis, What did they fix? what did they change? what did they do? you havent told anyone yet I reckon buy a supra, put a gt35r in it and be done with
  13. What does that have to do with the service they provided to this guy/Travis? For an average joe blo it seems they dont give a f**k. Unless you throw money at them, they simply dont seem to care. You know what they told him? theyre words were " haha we told you , you need a EBC, cams and cam gears " when he went back to tell them its too laggy and what can be the cause of the problem, they werent interested in giving him some idea's or spend an extra 5/10min talking to him about it, or even quickly looking at it. So it seems to me they are not interested in even looking at it unless he spends some more money on those items they mentioned, and even then, how much can those items bring the lag down? i doubt 2000rpm by what others are saying it should be. They had the car, they dyno'd it THEY are professionals, yet they seen nothing wrong! or if they did, they couldnt be bothered calling him/talking to him to see if they can both come to a mutual agreement to sort it out. You know how much they charged him for that tune? i'll tell you, $750, and now they want to charge him more and to buy some more gear! $750 for a tune!!! and all they got to help him with was " buy cams, cam gears and EBC " wow... I mean, sure, i dont think its laggy because they tuned it, it was laggy pre tune, im just annoyed at the fact they didnt do or say anything about it and or give him the option to try and fix it while there ( now getting the runaround ). Example, if the turbo's are buggered, would you still tune it and play dumb, or would you call the customer up and save him some money and try and get the turbos rebuilt or at least an option etc? If they have done hundreds and hundreds of these turbo setups and seen the lag that it has, it should of rang bells, and they could of went a different way about it, but they decided to take his money instead. Tuners these days dont give a farq, they just want your money and be done with, they probably inserted a tune from another similar setup, did an hour if that on top and there you go, take it, she's all good mate... Been there done that, i feel for this guy ( who i know btw, as some of you may ask yourself how i know all this stuff ). I know i'll most likely get bagged here for saying all that, im fine with that but to hear how all this went is just way to wrong for me to say nothing, customer service goes a long way in my books. Sorry to offend the die hard fans, but this is one from me.
  14. Yes, leaving them run off the actuators, wich GCG told him are set at 1bar and prest already to correct tension. I dont know what the pretension is or how much it should be, but you cant adjust it the way they left it/locked it, so its set to the way they want it ( but like you say, doesnt mean the pretension is set right from factory ). We tested the actuators and they start to open at 15psi, so they are closed at least till 15psi or so with line pressure to them. And there is a fair bit of tension on the wastegate flap keeping it closed by the rod/actuator, but is it enough tension? i dont know. How much tension should there be, is there a set rule/testing procedure for that?
  15. Just so people know, as Trav did not word it properly... He disconnected the pressure lines TO the wastegate's, he didn't actually disconnect the wastegate's, so he was eliminating the possibility of a fault with t-piece/turbosmart boost valve. Therefor the wastegates were closed the whole time as they did not see any pressure, it was still laggy. His wastegate rods cannot be adjusted/pre-tensioned, they seem to be preset and locked in via crimping. 1.2bar = ~17.4psi I would of thought having it dyno'd at croydon, if there was something obviously wrong such as being way to laggy, they would of mentioned something or called him up saying... listen, we noticed a big issue with turbo lag and we need to check it further etc etc... Can someone tell me what the rb26 likes in the way of timing? @4K and >above ( @17psi)
  16. Can i get a pm please for 2 x 245/40/18 and 2x 275 or 285/35/18 please. Sydney 2147.
  17. Fun track that one hehe. Is 46sec ok for a whale with street tyres? ( i need grip! )
  18. that sux. Ive read the autosports list and it states 15 supras, we had 19 confirm supras from the club, so im guessing there was a reserve list that were in front of you that caused you to miss out? edit: either way, just maybe get yourself on the reserve list anyways, you never know, its still a week+ away and more people could pull out, then you can jump in.
  19. i personally know that a few supras in our group have just pulled out, so heads up.
  20. Would you say this noise is ok? Theres a few of us from the supra club going, me included, seeya guys there
  21. I thought i would join in and give you my experience as well. I however have a supra 2jzgte with a gt42. Long story short, i have very low power numbers for the size of turbo and boost im running, ive tried a lot of things, people were saying also valve float, small cams etc.. after replacing them, i am still having the same issue's. My boost comes on hard at 5500rpm@26psi and thats where it makes its max HP, then just flat lines all the way to redline. All the info is in the links here, i have posted my issue's on a fair few forums, so if you can be bothered, have a read what ive done, im pretty sure we may have a similar issue, also running a haltech e11 and having a hard time finding someone to tune it... http://www.performanceforums.com/forums/sh....php?t=67205139 http://www.supraforums.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=37070 http://www.supraforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529982 Not sure if you'll be able to go on all of them, may need to sign up? and some are a very long read, but plenty of suggestions, just everything ive tried so far hasnt worked, very frustrating!
  22. All supra's do 12's, didnt you know? Im so in... just give plenty of notice when the time comes, so we can arrange days off.
  23. No matter what size, its just too easy lol. They are pirelli p zero rosso(18's), so theres a start for ya tell ya one thing tho, they are too much, especially if you do those burnouts too often!
  24. Says no video available ^^^( EDIT: oops, works now!) Guys, i had a great time Even tho the car was not made for these kind of events, i had a blast doing it, and was improving my times each time i went out. Im getting hooked at these kind of events and will be looking at downsizing my turbo for such... Big thanks to all involved at organizing this event and making it run smoothly, well done And the guys and girls were a great bunch to hang around with, thanks for the warm welcome. Looking forward to the next friendly event and hopefully with more supra's this time around lol. P.S. thanks R33GTR for the special prize too
