Doubt they would last, be lucky if you get half a season i reckon. I had kumho v70 hards and they lasted almost a whole season of hillclimbs. I have hankook z221 in medium now and after only 2 hillclimbs and 2 bathurst events ( supersprint and 1/8 flying star ), they dont look the best, hoping they last me the 2 day event at bathurst next week and one supersprint at smsp the week after. A full slick on soft/supersoft compound, i reckon the soop would eat them up lol. This is also on a heavy supra, 265/295 sizes.

yep, i dont know how he got away with it, but i had the gopro adapter stuck on my helmet and he even said that was a no go anymore( even tho i told him im not using the camera)... he said he will let it go this time!... something about the glue stuck to the helmet and will damage it etc Mines mounted on the cage now.

yep, ive cancelled my sundays event, the flying 1/5, not really interested in a 200m drag, and by yourself lol. Im guessing there will be lots of cancellations and maybe it will be cancelled all together due to low numbers!

got a reply back... "Danny The flying 1/5th is from a standing start and has a time 1/5 km, It is run down Conrod Straight one car at a time The start is just below the BLCC Clubrooms and finishes before the Chase" So basically its a 200m drag race!

I cant find any extra info regarding the 1/5 event! gonna have to email them. searching nothing comes up or even videos of any previous flying 1/5 event

is it a flying start or a standing start, do you know? sounds a bit boring! if i wanted to drag race, id go eastern creek and pay $50, nut hoping its something a bit better...

"Good Morning All It is with regret that I must inform you all that the Mountain Straight Hilllcimb event for the BLCC Speed Weekend has been cancelled due to Bathurst Regional Council untaking track repairs in the area of Mount Panorama that we would have been using for the Mountain Straight Hillclimb. This event has been repaced by a Flying 1/5th event Those of you that still wish to participate in the Flying 1/5 will need to email your intentions to me so I can update your entry forms. Those who do not wish to participate in the Flying 1/5th will also need to let me know so I can arrange your refunds." So the sundays event hillclimb is cancelled and the 1/5th flying event is replacing it for those that want to. Can i ask what the flying 1/5 event is, any videos of that or explenations as ive never heard of it!

depends how modified it is! I entered the SVD class, SV being pretty much unlimited or highly modified and the D being for over 4L capacity ( once you times your cars liters and multiply by 1.7). type1 is pretty much standard ( exl. 4wd cars). type2 is lightly modified, like maybe some wheels/safety gear/exhaust/suspension. type 3 and 4 i think are log booked competition cars? with type 4 allowing race tyres(slicks im assuming) type 5 are kit cars, replicas. dont think you can go in this one. type 6 is time attack type cars, so im thinking pretty much the same as SV class, i dont see the difference as they dont explain it well enough, as i assume type 6 is also unlimited mods.

Cool. Ive just finished my 2014 NSW championship and won my class Will most likely enter next year again, so i'll be seeing you there... For 2015, looks like it will have all the same tracks as 2014 with an added Marulan track. ( some of the hillclimbs are in but f**k nowhere, for me that is, like Tamworth and Grafton etc, and some are not even a slight hill lol )

Ringwood isnt it? No logbook on mine so no, but ive been there in July and didnt really enjoy the track, was a 2nd gear all way round for me, car didnt like it.

yea fair enough, i just never seen supersprint where they take off at same time... and just curious what would happen if it was neck to neck and corner coming. Id be afraid just the same of someone hitting my car. Wouldnt it be safer if one leaves 10sec later!

in the first vid, why was the leading car going so slow at the corners when they came around, and the other car next to him didnt catch up or overtake? I see its a drag race on the straight pretty much, but if the car next to you is slower under braking or around the corner thats coming up, are you allowed to overtake?

Yep, nothing available now,have to wait. You would usually go in the "rules and regs" of the nsw supersprint website and they have it all there in PDF forms. I will have to be quick, i missed out this year, however you can still enter the events once its open to the general public and if its not full by that time. Ive just entered the 20th july at smsp even tho im not registered for the series, just means i wont be getting any points. Im in the SVD class, even tho im not sure if thats the correct one lol. Hopefully like GTR32G said, someone will remind us when the time comes and we can register then.

I always thought that, but then when i got mine, i have both of those markings on my tyre! I have seen the same on lots of others running the same tyre, and here is just a random photo from the net showing both markings, the v700 and v70a on the one tyre... Are there other ones that i dont know about? i know theres the v710 on tire rack in USA, but that looks totally different

Weird. I have the v70a/v700 ( arnt they the same?) in hard compound running on the supra, so a fairly heavy car. I havent had issue's with them and ive had them since start of the year, had 2 track days and 5 hill climbs so far. I also ran them 34/32 hot for track days and even tried them at 32-30 hot on hill climbs, no issues for me. I like them but would go mediums as the hard compounds take too long to heat up for hill climbs. I hear very good things about the 050 yokohama's

Yea i tried to register at the beggining of the year and i was too late, was full and they were not taking any more on, so i have to wait for next years series. I too will have to find out in what class mine should be in. Im registered for the cams nsw hillclimb, and in that im registered as a road registered, non logged, over 2500cc+, but i havent looked at supersprint classes yet

There is a NSW championship hillclimb event on the same day at Tamworth, so im guessing a lot of people are going to that instead.

Anyone used a 1998 mitsubishi delica 2.8l turbo diesel intercooled for towing? They are a basically L400 on steroids with 4wd gear using pajero floor/chassis i heard? Dad has one and tows a ~1000kg caravan with ease he says. Trailer will have electric brakes. I would like to try it and see how it goes, otherwise i will have to get something else... but would like to see if anyone had any experiance. cheers
