Just had a quick look at the Varex and it's 3.5" OD, which is not too bad, taking a stab the the wall thickness of the pipe would be 2mm or less, you're left with approximately 85mm or approx 3.3" ID which is still some difference from the run of the mill 3" exhausts. Would be great for temporarily deterring the wrong kind of attention!

Stuff like detailing kills me, I wish the car would just forever stay clean haha Yeah, pretty happy to stick with new OEM! The 16 year old coil packs seem to working fine with no missing at all, but replacing them prior to tuning would be a good idea to avoid a potential 2nd trip to the tuner!

I was considering replacing the coil packs at some stage but just couldn't justify the price tag. Especially when i found out tonight that my friend bought 2nd hand Audi R8 coil packs for his Golf R with a certified 2,000km for $75 I've seen genuine coil packs on eBay go for $355 for the set, but unsure as to whether or not they are really genuine. Regarding actuators opening at the exact same time, what would happen if they weren't exactly the same? I think mine at one stage were one turn off but really haven't noticed any difference?

has base timing been looked at? my new engine from japan was 10 degrees advanced and was VERY laggy. put it back to 20deg BTDC and it's running perfect. you'd think the Japs would know how to get it right but you'd be surprised. The adjustable actuators with any more than about 2-3 turns worth of preload will give more than 17psi boost. I found out this morning...I'm still yet to tinker with my profec b 2 but am confident that if I have standard preload on the -9 actuators and adjust the start boost high enough, it will give me my 15psi that I want, nice and early. Which sounds like what you're trying to achieve.
