Does that have a polished top tank? Only asked, becuase I'm trying to keep it looking OEM.

I have an R32 GTR and would like to upgrade the radiator. Does the 33 or 34 GTRs or any other Nissan models run a larger core that would fit?

Its been at the last three Octagon Series rounds and Laurie Williams who owns it wants to run it on the mainland in Sports Sedans....but its still full steel body.

sav man - Pretty much OK for Targa as is. I ran it at Rallye Burnie back in June and they have the same technical rules. The current rear muffler is oversized for Targa, but its too loud in the car anyway so I'm swapping that over soon.

Apologies for my dismal performance! Water temp was the main cause of my problems. Investigating a new radiator and thermostat already. That said, the day did give me a good chance to bed-in and suss out my new front brakes, which I cam very very happy with... except now I would really like to even out the braking force and therefore need a rear upgrade too! Contrags to Mark Perry (26motorsport) on winning Group B in the GTSt.

This Sunday is round four of the Octagon Series at Baskerville. So far the Skylines entered are a bit lean with a few missing, but still a good mix anyway... Group A 29 - Rodney Willits - R32 GTR 81 - David Ayers - R33 GTR V-Spec 62 - Stuart Benson - R32 GTR V-Spec II (Don't expect anything to much from me though!!) Targa Group B 18 - Kerry Kuck - R32 GTSt M-Spec 26 - Mark Perry - R32 GTSt M-Spec (10 points if you can actually read the signwritting) Plenty of other machinery too with Greg Garwood's 996 Turbo doing battle the wild Targa Torana's of Peter O'Keefe and Kim Barwick. Laurie Williams is running his 20B RX7, there is a coupe of Evo's running too, as well as an STi, RX7 SP, Integra Type R and the ex-Peter Fitzgerald GTP Porsche 968 Turbo RS being run by Mark Connolley from Melbourne. Very cool car and is an awesome thing to drive. Looks coming out for a look?

R32 Gtr Vs V-spec Calipers....
t01-100 replied to 87fcrx7's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah the Brembos will fit under GTR 16s, but you need to remove a few mm off the top, particually a casting mark (a sharp edge in the middle of the caliper) that is fouling your rim. Removing the metal is very easy and its area you will be working on is well clear of any unseen internals. For good measure we took a few extra mm for greater clearence. Its still a tight fit, but works great and looks better filling the rim. -
fire an email off to [email protected] to suss out a group buy price. new model is on the way that isn't model specific i hear

...We'll I've got CSC and I'm happy. They will be put to the test in my GTRs first circuit meeting late this month. What sold it for me was that if they were crap, even slightly rubbish, Simon Gishus from Nizpro sure as hell wouldn't be putting them on his cars!

R32 Gtr Vs V-spec Calipers....
t01-100 replied to 87fcrx7's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
To define the rest, Nissan customer service in Japan provided the following when I questioned how genuine my car was, but I've never actually compared it to a base GTR... K = Coupe B = RB26DETT N = Super Hicas R32 = Build model R = 2 doors B = V-Spec/V-Spec II (base GTR says X) F = 5 speed gearbox S = Intercooled turbo 8 = 17" rims (based GTR 16" rims says 7) A = No delete options (N1/Nismo would say Z) A = Non N1/Nismo (N1 would say N) -
R32 Gtr Vs V-spec Calipers....
t01-100 replied to 87fcrx7's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Look on your blue plate in the engine bay under model number, mine says KBNR32RBRS8 AA. The last number 8 means standard 17s. base GTR would have a 7. To define V-Spec or V-Spec II (no difference in the model designation in the model number) look for B as the 6th letter, again base GTR would say X. -
R32 Gtr Vs V-spec Calipers....
t01-100 replied to 87fcrx7's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
V-Spec and V-Spec II both had Brembos standard. Only difference between my V-Spec II and a V-Spec when I bought it was 245 RE01 tyres. My V-Spec II diff looks standard, but has a flat (fin-less) cover, but thats as per all later model 32s. The Brembos will fit under an OEM 16 GTR rim, you just need to massage the top of the caliper 2-3mm for clearence. -
My brother-in-laws single turbo 13BT RX7 did 475kWs on the Pro Automotive dyno on Saturday!

INASNT - My old Brembo's and 324s are now an a GTSt (track - edit)car and work a treat. Very good upgrade for a GTSt... and we even made them fit under OEM GTR 16" rims! Roy - I've read similar and considered there might be something in it, but with so many front running FIA GT, Le Mans, SCCA Sports Cars and many of cateogries using them, I figured if teams like that who seach for hundreds, not tenths of a second advantage, monobloc must be the ducks.

Whites Retire Gtr For Stokell's Old Lambo
t01-100 replied to sav man's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Sorry, misinterpreted what you meant. A good result is still achievable at TT on a budget: Warwick Rooklyn's Evo7 is good example. It's currently for sale for $55k and ready to run... that car has finished as high as fourth at TT and great results in other events. Steve Glenny's old R33 GTR V-Spec N1 is also for sale in freshened condition as it finished TT second (for the second time) for $69.5K If anyone thinks they can win TT or even get on the podium by just buying an expensive car and turning up… they are kidding themselves. When the first three cars finish the event over EIGHT MINTUES ahead of the fourth, you quickly see that TT is now as competitive as any professional motor sport and unless you are willing to push VERY hard your not in the hunt. At the start the event that pack of three fast cars was six! It was only two years ago that Tony Sullen's won TT in a WRX of all things. On paper, even the car presented had nothing on a 996T/GT2/GT3 or GTR, but he drove his heart out wheeling that car to his abilities and beyond... and as for the Gallardo’s that ran last year, sure they might have been quick, but the quick one didn’t win, didn’t even finish and their’s no awards for parking your car half way. I think the bar will be raised for 2006, but that the natural progression of motor sports. Everyone looks for an advantage, but it’s about much more than just writing a cheque. -
Fair enough, personaly I'd want monobloc calipers before I'd start stressing about a slightly longer pad and two extra small pistons when your talking 343mm/355mm rotors.
-
I totally warped a set of newly bedded of DBA 5000 Slotted 330mm (which are actually 324mm!) discs on my standard 4 piston Brembos within three stages at Rallye Burnie this year... such a small disc is not highly rated in my book on a heavy car like a GTR.
-
INASNT - Why? Ever tried them? I've tried CSC, Brembo, AP and Harrop. CSC were just as enduring. Wouldn't say CSC were better, but I wouldn't say AP, Brembo or Harrop were between $1500 and $3500 better!
