  1. we'll everyone goes stupid putting LS1 V8s in them in the states... an SR20 would be a much lighter option, but the 13B-REW is fine if you do your research on who to rebuild and tune with. i'm sure you could get it engineered with an SR20 too... but again why you'd bother i don't know, if you want a cheap to run track toy just prep an R32 GTSt and spend the other 20/30k you would have wasted on beers!
  2. As the title says, I'm after some standard front springs for an R33 GTSt. If they come on a standard strut thats cool too. Please email me - [email protected] or drop me a text on 0412 868 979. Would love to find some by Sunday arvo!
  3. 4 door skylines are so 2008, troy needs a white evo 3 so i can buy a proper road car!! broke the damn windscreen in the evo on sunday night too… after months of taking it on and off the car and trailering it 700km... it had to break the final time I was putting it back on the car ready to take it into have the windscreen reset! hey damo, you or kerry need to throw some pics of brawn gtst up!
  4. have got an r33 gtr rear wing blade and boot mount, but no end caps. white in colour and in hobart... email me if you want pics [email protected]
  5. that looks very cool and nah, no one will have any dramas with that replacment panel.
  6. andrew - yeay knew it wasn't good for him so kept an eye on him afterwards, but he seemed ok. hes being pretty spoit at the moment, had a big thick viel t-bone last night, nice lamb shanks the night before and cooked chicken breast and bacon the night before that... all done just for him... better than most get i'm sure! woo - all the cool kids are running back seats these days, didn't you know? nah, i put it back in so the car looked more streetable and knock down the road noise as I reckon it would make a top recce car... thinking i might keep it now as its coming together really well. liam - thanks mate, yeah i'm pretty happy with how its shaping up. the fd isn't getting much love though...
  7. sorry for the crap phone pics, but theres been some progress on the evo again finally! looks pretty cool sitting low on the new coilovers i think. just waiting on some new caliper pistons and seals, the front seats and we should be right to play (with a windscreen)... special thanks to monty my dog for all his help and downing my boost chocie bar on the sly!
  8. i went for a run the r35 v8sc safety car on sunday prior to the start of racing, was pretty cool, but seriously how many flashing lights does one car need!
  9. benny - shh don't tell anyone that or they might get scared! timmy - smart arse! kel - i know the feeling, all my ghey hairdressers have 350zs!
  10. marlin - no fences to hold you back from the big drops up there punk! kel - harsh, but promoting it as a hairdresser's car doesn't suggest any great aspirations so could be a good way to keep it! actually i'd love to paint it flat black, i reckon that would look awesome, handy for sponsors too... just whip out the chalk duster when you get a new one! sav_man - not sure about up north, but from hobart myself and darren fogarty in the rx7, peter o'keefe seems pretty keen, an almost finished gtr down here with a guy new to tarmac rally, another new guy to tarmac rally that i went to school with in his yet to be finished l34 torana and a couple of others are talkin.
  11. i'm bang up for buller with the rx7 this year and looks like we might have a fair crew from tassie running too. so from this... to this in six months seems almost reasonable!
  12. thanks kel and congratulations to everyone that simply made a start at the 2009 event, that alone is an achievement! huge effort from benny and timmy in the little rb20 (man that farmer's pissed), also awesome work from snowie and drew with rookie and jeff and ayersie in early modern… major effort from quinny and naomi and first of many r35 targa crowns I’m sure. ps. man was i untidy early sunday/monday morning. apparently i got to bed at 6am and had a savage case of bulimia nervosa for a few hours before i hit the hay… but some how managed to back up for the trophy brunch hours later!
  13. First pics of the recently finished Benson Motorsport's supported Nismo 400R of David Ayers and Robbie Bolton all ready for Targa Tasmania 2009 Some of the paint was a bit of a last minute rush due to freight issues and the kit being damaged in transit... it will be refinshed post event, but I think you'll agree it looks awesome!
  14. no drama josh, hate to see people wasting cash on stuff thats pointless speaking of a pointless waste of money, my Evo III will soon be for sale guys, pretty much ready to run tarmac car with nice welded cage, new coilovers, new clutch, nice recaro seats... 15k to take it home and i think that is a pretty good price!
  15. there’s no chance a rb25det cefiro would have been given the tick for 2010... one, it would have come across my desk to confirm in principal compliance to the rules (which obviously it does met) two, formal entries for 2010 have not even opened! if this guy is serious, please ask him to call the event office before hes wastes dead money on building an ineligible car. the flip side of that is that is that if the car is simply declared as an rb20det and run on the quiet as an rb25det it maybe tested for compliance on capacity as is being introduced this year and an extra 500cc is hardly within reconditioning tolerance!
  16. Ray - Darren Elphingstone. Will PM his details. Come have a look a the cage if you want.
  17. we just let everyone know you were competing kel and the mail doesn't stop!!
  18. dane - yeah noticed that the other week... i paid plenty for the comments about me in there! jason - awesome looking car. still have to ring you back sorry! can you eft?
  19. yes mate, pure error from how entries are administered when they first come in. if not already, it will be corrected shortly.
  20. hehe, thats the second time your rotors have been put on the wrong way dane... i did it the first time they went on the gtr, didn't notice until it i'd put everything away and taken the car off the hoist!
  21. marlin - you need to mate, both the shitters are keeping a knock off 400r and your rival 32 gtst company at the moment! roy - for tarmac and circuit events the e2 and 3 boxes aren't too bad unless you're dragging. there are a number of beefing up options too that wouldn't break the bank. apparently the boxes get a bad name from guys doing engine swaps into local cars and having the weak local gsr 'box fitted up. the 4g63 engines go forever, much like sr20s and rb20s etc. for the 4g63 there are plenty of cost effective 2.2 and 2.4 kits too... when i priced a 2.4 rebuild a while back it was only $170 extra to got 2.4 over 2.0 using a factory crank (assuming you'd replace the standard crank). the pre-e4 diffs in gsr and rs are strong enough for just anything (unlike evo 4 onwards ayc (gsr) units). the gsr spec e1-e3 use an open front centre and are best to be swapped over to ralliart helical front centre found in the rs. if you wana prepped one i'm considering options on this one and happy to set it up to a spec requested... wont be after big dollars for it either. boz22n - nup, csc/bmax are grooved that way, zoom in on the veins
  22. slowly mate, putting it back getting it back together is always fun! nice fuel system... custom built or can you buy that kind of set up pre-fab?
  23. got the evo back on saturday so threw some paint on it today...
  24. that evo 3 we talked about ages rosco. not sure but might give it a run at the first round as the rx7 isn't finised yet. will admit i have late model evo in the back of my mind as a racer if i can find new homes or the evo3 and rx7... fresh built never raced toys anyone?!
  25. pretty cool, but how bad is that a pillar angle... would look awesome in black so that line is hidden.
