-
yea well priority at this stage is getting the window replaced i am yet to decide if it's worth replacing the stolen stuff.
-
it does actually make sence there are 2 rex's that look fairly modded that always park out the front of the complex and arent ever touched it would probably be more secure than my carpark at this stage

Hey guys i was hoping to pick up another SAFC II fairly cheaply if possible. My car was broken into on Sunday and the SAFC II stolen and the car is running fairly average at the moment. If anyone has one going at a good price i would appreciate a pm so we can try and sort something out. Pics can be sent to [email protected] Cheers Leigh

hey Thomas cheers for the post yea anything that could help us find our way around would be appreciated. Budget varies because 5 of us are going so me and one other guys budgets are a little higher while the other 3 i think will try and save alot which is going to make things a little more interesting. Those magazines sound good can you scan a few of the decent pages in or are they quite large ??? pm me and we can sort something out my email address is [email protected] Cheers Leigh

again cheers for the kind words all and nik and andrew were right when the safc was installed it just needed the AFM wires reattached and it started running fine again. So things are starting to look better except that i am stuck with a 1980 honda accord for the next week or so lol its a beast

Thanks guys appreciate the support I have managed to source a window off another SAU'r at a good price which is great so hopefully that will help me save a few $$$. Big problem is when they cut the SAFC out my car is running like crap now it wont rev above 1700rpm am guessing because when the SAFC was installed they would have to cut and bypass a couple of wires. I will have to try and work out which ones have been cut and solder them back together. Hopefully I will be right but if anyone installed an SAFC and knows what wires I should be looking for or is an electrician (looks at Andrew) and is happy to lend me 5 minutes of phone time or pop out and have a quick look I would appreciate it (locted in the city area). Cheers Leigh

damn i missed your post sin cheers for the words guys yes it is very annoying but i wont bag my alarm as it clearly worked as they must of got in and out bloody quick. The alarm was still in one piece though from what i can see. After thinking about it more and looking at how it was done i dont think they were trying to steal the car in the first place... they were just after some parts which they will probably be able to flog off quickly and easily. The only good thing i can say about whoever did it is that they were clean about it (other than the window) all the wiring has just been cut right up near the top of the stolen items so they didnt rip it out or anything which is good as they didnt really damage anything else in the process. Anyways i am ringing around for quotes this morning to find out if it's worth putting a claim in stupid high excess anyone have any mates in the glass industry lol
-
yea it's a security car park (swipe cardD) but there are about 90 - 100 car parks due to them combining the two adjacent appartments + people have multiple spares which they could just give to anyone if they wanted and no body would know It's annoying but i guess shit happens can't win em all
-
Yup reported it to the police straight away they were not much help at all. They took the details down but basically said it happens and that they were not going to send anyone out to look at it. I can sort of understand this as it would happen fairly often but still it doesnt help my case... So all they are helpful for in this case is when my insurance agency talks with the police. Still working out if its worth making a claim i will have to work out how much my premium will go up + the excess is not small ... maybe i just repair the window, sell the car and get a shit box till i buy a house and have a proper garage...
-
it happened at the appartment block i live in and yes it has an alarm which is still fully working from what i can see they have smashed the window quickly cut out what they needed and left...

Well just got back from Fi's cousins wedding which I had a great time at to find that my car has been broken into, passenger side window smashed all my gauges gone and my SAFC II. I am going down to have a proper look and clean it up but I am f**king pissed off. This is about the 5 or 6th break in about 4 weeks in this complex I had nothing visible in the car other than obviously the gauges and safc... they didn’t take the stereo or anything else, probably good I had the head deck out... anyways if anyone see's or hears of anything please ring pm me It's a blue screen SAFC II with an Apexi stand. http://www.monkeywrenchracing.com/cgi-bin/...s/apx_safc2.jpg The guages are all autometer carbon fibre ones http://www.autometer.com.au/images/brands/...eter/AU4703.jpg http://www.autometer.com.au/images/brands/...eter/AU4775.jpg http://www.autometer.com.au/images/brands/...eter/AU4748.jpg

Don’t sell it dude you have invested to much... in saying that if you do i shotgun your wheels haha j/ks It depends on how well you get along with your parents but you can borrow 100% of the value of the house without paying mortgage insurance if your parents will use the equity in their house... Only downside is if you screw up on your repayments or something happens you risk putting your parents house in jeopardy as it will fall back to them. We did that with ours we had the 10% deposit but to avoid mortgage insurance you need 20%. The good thing is though that once you have paid off the 20% of the house or if it increases in value you can use that as well you can have them removed from the loan so it's not like you need to pay the whole house off before it's solely on you. If you do it the way we did you will save about 3 - 4K. Hope that helps a little Leigh
