  1. hi NIZ30 we did this topic just recently, have a look at this thread but yeah...180km/h is the fastest I've gone while driving my car. Been faster as a passenger (but that wasn't in a Skyline)
  2. no probs... check ya PM's
  3. hahaha u r a nutter when's ya birthday? :burnout:
  4. I went and saw it 2 weeks ago....absolutely awesome! this time will be even better since it's part of the track day....with heaps of other GTR's as well as the Gibson one... if you can get there, go!! pics from Eastern Creek
  5. Hi Ben congrats on your decision! well one "pro": Skylines are VERY reliable, I've had mine for almost 2 years now, and nothing has gone wrong (it now has 123,000 kms on it). Just make sure you maintain it properly like any performance car...regular oil changes, services, etc. I haven't found any "cons" yet except for parking down the arse end of the carpark so no one slams their door into it. High insurance could be an issue if you're young. I would highly recommend you get some quotes before you start thinking about importing. and talking about importing, Geoff has a great rep as a trustworthy importer, so good choice there. umm, defects...well that all depends on what you plan to do to it
  6. ooh niiiiiiiice! I want one just like that sooooo badly !! haha not dialup friendly?? pffft my dial up has no say in this..MUST see pics
  7. hahaha i just saw that preview too... there was a burgandy R32 and a white 200SX on the skidpan...then they went to the in car camera and the instructors yelling at him "TURN TURN NO! NO! LEFT LEFT!!!!!" poor driver's got arms going everywhere
  8. have you guys seen these things??? to quote the website: they run a Yamaha 1200cc four cylinder 16 valve twin-cam engine producing 125bhp with integral close ratio straight cut gear sequential dog engagement gearbox. and they only weigh 450 kg!! http://www.aussielegend.com.au/ my friend's brother has just bought one...he's going up next week to get the car and some training from Phil Ward, the guy who's behind these things. The car itself cost him around 32K, but he's looking for sponsorship...he's sent a proposal to Shell (umm yeah the company, not me ) to paint it up like a Shell Helix car, but hasn't heard anything yet. apparently he will pay around $450 to race in a round. That includes his pit, and passes for his pit crew (ie mates!!) for the weekend. His first race will be Wakefield and the end of Sept apparently. I think I'm gonna go up and watch, these things look cool! I wanna see them on the track
  9. Don't stall the car! (that looks really bad on a driving test :uh-huh: ) hehe for a hill start, just start to release the clutch like you normally would but with one hand on the hand brake. As you feel the clutch engage, release the handbrake slowly and take off, so you get no roll-back. ummm what else (it was a long time ago when i took my test LOL) keep your hands on the 10 to 2 position on the steering wheel, and when you change gears always return them to this position...don't leave one hand sitting on the gear knob. when you're coming to a stop at lights, always change down all the gears properly. Don't leave it in third and coast to a stop. Make sure you take your foot all the way off the clutch after changing gears so you're not riding it at all. That's all i can think of for now, they're all things they'll be watching for when you take your test (in regards to a manual car anyway) there's all the other general stuff as well regardless of whether it's auto or manual, like checking your mirrors, indicating etcetc...
  10. They're changing the rules that's all. Some imports won't be allowed anymore, while some others will be available that weren't allowed before.R33 GTSt's will still be allowed so don't worry. By the looks of things they might be more expensive though. Anyway, good to see you've got the Skyline bug :D Get yourself a GTS-t, you won't regret it :uh-huh:
  11. ok ok I'm gonna admit defeat on this one...about the whole red light/speed camera thing...I was wrong, i honestly thought it worked that way. oh well, had my rant, got it off my chest feeling MUCh better now /me looks at the 3 fines stting on the table *grrrrr*
  12. haha, make sure you post it up!!
  13. rotflmao!!! good call Dino scott!! congrats, the car looks awesome
  14. "The Heart of a Skyline. The RB25DETT" "This is the RB25DETT twin-turbo V-6 engine that makes a Skyline what it is" bwahahahahaha BUT it's on the net!! it must be true!!
  15. dammit i'm moving back to perth !! yeah anything up to 15kms over = 1 point, $118 here
  16. u think I'm foxing? or foxy? troy baby you're lucky there's a big desert between us or I'd kick ya ass :p
  17. yeah I'm sick of Ferrari always winning too... but as someone pointed out to me, other teams have had times when they've dominated too. It would be good if it didn't work that way, but it seems to be the way F1 is. It turns a lot of ppl off watching it "too boring" "too predictable" etc etc... I'll keep watching though, at least Juan is up there on the podium sometimes , even if it's behind the other two....
  18. yeah, my sillyness i guess... anyway now I know. I went and paid one of the fines at the Wanniassa PO and the lady who runs the shop was very surprised to hear they could snap you on a green light - and her husbands a cop...so i guess I'm not alone, there seems to be a bit of confusion around. If it's always been a "stand alone" speed camera, then i'm at aloss to explain how I've never been busted before. I've lived in that area ever since they were installed (2 or 3 years ago??) and have gone thru that intersection heaps of times at well over 80kms. Anyway thanks for letting me have a bitch drive safely everyone!!
  19. How was this cruise guys? anyone got pics?
  20. ha! well if you'd come on the Kangaroo Valley cruise you were SUPPOSED to be on, you would have Nice pics!! Yours too Megs! looks like u had a good day
  21. haha no probs I couldn't make the ACT dragway protest we had here recently, which i was disappointed about...so i think it's good to help support this kinda thing where ever we can! We should be opening more of these venues, not closing them down
  22. thanks jay, yeah it sucks and yes i'm fuming :uh-huh: especially since i have three fines...all 1 point and $118 each oh well...the main point of this is to let you all know how it operates now (and also to let me have a big BITCH session ) Since the gov obviously didn't want to let us in on the secret, I hope this might at least stop any of you guys from getting pinged too
  23. DONE! I'll probably never go there, but I'm happy to show some support.
  24. Poor juan, he was devastated when I wouldn't go out with him, but it's good to see he's moved on :D hehehe Connie is gorgeous, and doesn't look like some trampy blonde bimbo like some of those wannabe F1 g/friends. She used to post on with JPM forums with us occasionly, i don't think she does anymore though. Good luck to them both!
  25. absolutely Daniel, I have no problems with red light cameras at all, you know it's there, so you don't run the red light - simple! (not that I ever run red lights anyway). But the lights were on green when I went through, not a single other car on the road I just hate the fact that they've sneakily changed the way that camera operates without telling anyone. Arseholes.
