Depending on how my wiring goes this week I might come out in my TX3 for a change ... with the new Turbo engine in it and running (Pending some minor Engine loom to dash loom wiring issues at the moment)

Spotted a blue series 6-8 looking RX7 that managed to slam a lightpole going onto gunghalin drive extension today cops had it all blocked off ... the pole came down on the rx7 aswell ... pretty sure those big metal light poles are worth something like $80,000 or something so it was quite a costly crash

haha I had a bad experience in that tunnel ... on the inside far right lane gave it a hit then coming out of the tunnel i noticed a guy had lost his queensize matress off the back of his trailer and it was right in the middle of the lane coming out of the tunnel with glare in the face and then seeing it and hooking to the left sharply then trying to get it back inline quickly resolting in cutting off the car in the lane over when the rear end kicked out sideways @ 90kph infront of him ... not a fun experience @ all quite scary

I do have the justjap r32,r33,r34 rails ... but you have to modify them to fit the seats onto the rails ... and I want $200 extra for them

Hey CEJAY ... I know how ya feel dude I had to get a complete exhaust overhaull and remove my window tint to pass a defect last week ... They are also cracking down hard on lowered suspension so be carefull man ... something about centre of wheel to the guard has to be of a certain clearance not just 100mm road clearance ... I got an advisory about it ... I know how ya feel it is shit Mine was also defected for noise and was given $117 fine ontop

Was giving the Varex muffler option serious thought then was told by the RTA that they are infact illegal themselves so a complete catback overhaul should do the trick and shut it up Want the car to be legal im over getting stupid fines and defects and not being able to enjoy the car for what it is ... I seriously don't have the time for the RTA/Police bullshit anymore Somehow I keep having a feeling either my name or the cars that I drive are on some sort of police black list Because twice now when the police have pulled up my missus driving my car they give her a lecture and keep asking her questions about me which I find to be an invasion of privacy ... They also went right through the car searching everything when they stopped my missus I dunno what they were looking for but they didn't have my permission and I am the owner of the car , she was just the driver ... Dunno if there is anything I can do about that by law ?

My personal experience with the COBY's has been horrid They leak at the header late due to oversize welds that stop ya bolting them on properly They also increase exhaust noise by 7 decibels my exhaust was 91 just over legal and very borderline and they pushed it up to 98 db which is way over the limit and I got defected for it too

All sorted ... The Car goes in to the exhaust shop Mitchell for a new cat back section on Wednesday to hopefully Quieten the whole exhaust note a lot so the car isn't such a target I will also keep my old cat back setup for track days as it is a nice exhaust

The reason for not using a thin oil on an older engine is because of the engine bearings ... if you use a thinner oil it increases the possibility of you spinning a bearing just like in a used differential it is unwise to change diff oil with old bearings ... as when you add fresh oil with old bearings they fail

3200 rpm

mine has the rb20de engine mine is a GTS not a GTS-T I also downloaded the Test procedure guidelines in PDF format which state vehicles from 1970 to 2000 Default speed tests Should not be higher than 90db @ the following RPM's 5 cylinders or below test @ 4000rpm 6 cylinders test @ 3200 rpm 8 cylinders test @ 3300 rpm Above 8 cylinders @ 4300 rpm and Rotary engines test @ 4500 rpm That is the guideline set out by the NRTC I can send ya the PDF

The db test reading for a 6 cylinder should be carried out at 3200rpm and not be greater than 90 db @ 3200rpm I'd get it checked first before modifying it 3200rpm is the legal test limit set by the National Roads and transport commission

I am currently contesting a fine issued to my missus whilst she was driving my skyline They defected the car for being 110db @4500 rpm which is ridiculous Also by law you only have to rev the car to 3200rpm for a 6 cylinder vehicle which is on the national roads and transport commission website my car was tested in braddon by roadside police and RTA also at 4000rpm and the car was 91db only a month back The way they are conducting the tests is false and by law is wrong I want to borrow a meter so that I can conduct a test properly and take my report to the head of police ACT and also to the RTA themselves as the way the roadside police and Rta are testing is wrong and not correct by law
