An old butcher was pretty adamant that you chuck the finger in the scraps bin, go to hospital and have it cauterised then back to work the next day with a cap on it. Microsurgery takes ages to recover from and you can never cut it off again!

Take the top off and get out your soldering iron.
It is a pretty easy fix even if you are a nuff nuff like me with soldering.
Check the wiring around the plug carefully too while you are at it.
I think more so because LH won't be able to look after his tyres given the way he sets the car up. His best hope is to get a very sizable gap off the start and hope McLaren can find a nice big hole to drop him in (and hopefully away from Massa).
If he can control himself for 2hrs he might get away with the race.

Are they just running them through a gentle heat cycle and banking a time good enough to get them through Q1?
I am pretty sure these tyres don't last very long if you knock the stuffing out of them on the first or second lap.
