Bump. Would anyone in Japan who has a little time over the holidays mind contacting TAX for me? Cheers, Lucien.

FS - GTR tuned length stainless front pipes

Are they a split design ala Trust/Grex with seperate wastegate gasses? LW. -
I got my 1989 GT-R a couple of months ago. Its has just ticked over the 70,000 KM mark: the compliance place thought the KMs were genuine based on the condition of the car. I generally agree with what RB30-POWER has said. My car was auctioned with log books which weren't in it upon arrival. However I am inclined to believe that they did exist and have just gotten lost somewhere: the compliancer thought the KMs were genuine; the auction listed log books; all other paperwork is missing too (ie. owners manual, original key, etc) which suggests to me they were either swiped or not passed on, and I payed an appropriate amount for a car of this condition. I am trying to contact the seller to retrieve them, but I doubt that will ever happen. Nothing has broken at all (well, AFAIK), though a couple of rubber door seals have seen better days. LW.

Okie Dokie. Having now changed the gearbox and transfer case oils I can say the following: * My gearbox needed just over 4 litres of oil. If you plan to use Redline Lightweight Shockproof be aware that the large containers are 3.7l not 4l bottles. I bought an additional an additional small bottle (~0.9l) so I had some extra. * My transfer case needed about 1.5 litres of oil. I used Castrol Transmax Z: I purchased two of the 1 litre bottles. Interestingly the gearbox oil looked filthy while the transfer case oil looked almost new. Thankfully there were almost no shavings whatsoever on the welsh plug magnets for either I am still entirely confused about what diff oil to go for. I double checked the Nissan workshop manual and it lists standard diff oil for the front and LSD oil for the rear. I can quite easily get 85W-140 and SAE90 LSD oils, but nowhere seems to stock anything close to 85W-90. Finally, can someone explain the ATESSA actuator too me? Its different to the rear diff and transfer case, right? I might see if I can track down some of this "Nissan Power Steering Fluid Special" unless anyone can recommend something else (or counter the comment made by GTR V)? Cheers, Lucien.

Ok, just looked through the service manual and it recommends the following for the diffs: Front Final Drive (F160): GL-5 85W-90 (~1l) Rear Final Drive (R200): GL-5 80W-90 (1.5l) Rather irritating the front and rear have different requirements. 80W-90 seems to be easy enough to find; anyone know who makes an 85W-90 product? Edit: Just thinking about it, the front is open and the rear is mechanical. So should the front oil just be a standard diff/gear oil, and the rear a special LSD oil (ie. additional friction additives)? Lucien.

mmmgtir: Thanks for the tip. I have also heard that Redline Water Wetter is good stuff too. Parag0n: I am planning to get the radiator flushed and will dump all the water/coolant, and start again with new coolant and demineralised water LW.

Bump. Still after some suggestions for front and rear diff oils and coolant, plus amounts where applicable LW.

gts4diehard: ATTESA E-TS-PRO is the electronic version of ATTESA found in R33s (well, to be precise, the PRO is only in V-spec's). I think....? LW.

PARTS! from Overseas Suppliers

No he shouldn't. You want to import, you should pay all taxes or be happy when your goods aren't pinged. Don't like the import taxes? Move country, lobby government, etc, etc: don't whinge. LW. -
Definately interested. R32 GT-R (coupe, obviously). Any time: the sooner, the better. I suggest we try and sought out a coupon system like the last one, so people can purchase a coupon that is valid for X weeks or months. LW.

I know. Sorry if it sounded like I was rude, I was just confused why you were posting the same thing twice LW.

A couple of questions 1) What's the difference (beyond the obvious slight difference in how one enters the mode) between the methods posted by Lozza150 and Greg? Do both methods apply to all Skylines fitted with (Super) HICAS? 2) Using Lozza150's method , does HICAS go in to Mode B by default? Cheers, Lucien.

Bump for an old thread Using NGK's spark plug selector, it suggests PFR6A-11 for RB26s, which would appear to be the same items as the factory ones (according to emre's post). Should one go the PFR6A-11's or BCPR7s/BKR7s? Cheers, Lucien.

Ok, so basically we have established Redline has no idea: glad I asked because a couple of people seem to have followed Redline's suggestions..... So scratch Lightweight Shockproof for the transfer case (which is good, since it costs the earth). Does anyone have specific recommendations for a transfer case oil? Likewise for the diff oils? As I understand it the R32 GT-R runs an open front and mechanical rear diff: will the same oil be OK? Cheers, Lucien.

GTR V: I fail to see how posting the same thing twice is of any great help. I don't want to use Nissan OEM fluids. I know Matic D is an ATF fluid, which would suggest that ATF should be used in the transfer case and not straight gear oil. Is that the point your trying to make? LW.

Finally got an alarm installed: I can sleep a bit more easily tonight But more importantly a H-U-G-E thumbs up for Allan Jong of Maxi Security. They guy is an absolute champ: he gave me a great price; was extremely helpful; he comes to you; he came out on a Sunday; spent 7-8 (!!) hours installing two alarms and is just an all round top bloke. I am honestly blown away by his service: not a moments hestitation in thoroughly recommending him to anyone. Contact Details: Allan Jong / Maxi Security 0419 988 679 LW.

Hmmm.. maybe someone should contact Redline and tell them they are giving dud advice. What's a good ATF for the transfer case? LW.
-
So can someone clear this up LW.
-
That's interesting, because redline's site suggests lightweight shockproof. LW.

Hi SteveL, I do have a copy of the WS manual, but I find its rather unhelpful, hence I was after people who have changed these oils to get a real idea of what I actually need. It was a complete engine oil flush and filter change, not just a straight oil bleed + change, hence the rather high usage of oil (it may have been closer to six: I don't have the workshop receipt in front of me ). Transmax Z is a fully synthetic ATF but also explicitly states its designed for power-steering applications. I did a search on here and someone recommended it, so gave it a try. I found it extremely hard to bleed the power steering fluid (as I couldn't jack the car to get to a lead under the reservior), so I had to syphon it out of the top. LW.
