Or plates like LUKEB -If i wanted to know your name i'd ask you -If you need to label your vehicle with your own name, you must have some sort of disorder -It's not primary school, your possessions do not need to be labelled with your name Seriously Mark, love the plates. Really sets your car off. Can't wait to see it after the tint

Could you imagine the paypal fee on that bad boy? This guy probably has his future riding on the successful sale of these plates

More hassles! Just went to VicRoads. Waited 40 minutes enduring some of the worst BO i've ever encountered. The new roadworhty i got has the oringinal rego on it (I put custom plates on the car the day i bought it). The defect has the correct rego on it. The lady obviously didn't accept it, needless to say i was slightly annoyed. Going to get everything sorted out tomorrow morning. (Get the road worthy amended with the new plate). Cannot wait to this is over!

Basically the engineering certificate approves the hole as a valid modification. The engineer spent a fair buit of time taking photos and inspecting everything closely. The VASS cert says the following: "Assessment of modification to sheet metal of front inner apron tray to fit intercooler plumbing. The nature of this change and proximity to primary frontal structual members is not considered to have any noticeable adverse affect on the vehicle's structual integrity in relation to safety and crashworthiness. NOTE - Original bumper iron retained and original mounting; Vehicle fitted with OEM airbag."

Well guys everything looks OK. Had the engineer look over everything this morning and he provided a VASS certificate without a problem. Also had the car road worthied without any problems. I'll probably head down to VicRoads today to have everything cleared. If you need any info, please send a PM to me or 'superspit'

In all honesty, i've learnt the following so far: Fix the problem, make the car legal and keep the cops happy. It's less to worry about, this is what i think anyway. Well off to bed for me, need to get up nice and early to take the car to the engineer.
-
Hey. Pretty sure he patrols from knox city (Burwood highway upto the knoxfield shops) all the way down to Rowville past stud park. I could be wrong though. Has anyone spotted him in a different suburb other than Wantirna South, Rowville and surrounding areas?
-
Hey mate. Nah no fine just the defect. Only thought you get fined on a major? In any case, i think a VASS + Road worthy is way worse than a fine.
-
Ahh cool. I'll be home but the car won't be at my place until tomorrow morning :-(
-
Thanks bro. I can arrange to come to work a few hours later tomorrow morning if you want to do that. As long as i'm back before 12, should be fine with the boss. EDIT: Boss said it's fine, we'll go tomorrow morning, fairly early :-)
-
Thanks mate. My brother would probably have more info as i'm not terribly sure.
-
Yer at the end of the day, Pettet is doing his job. Yes it sucks i have to go through the whole process, but i have learnt that you can't get away with anything. I'm sure i'll be pulled over many more times, at least i'll have less to worry about when this happens.

Hey Ashneel, do you know who drives the purple GTR that parks in my court? He lives close by. The guy works where i work, i park next to him all the time. Got a great pic of my mates R32, his R33 GTR and my R34 all inline down the court. Looked ace!

Well guys a quick update. My brother (superspit) just took the car to an engineering place. I'll have a VASS certificate and road worthy tomorrow morning. Gonna cost ~$400 but at least i won't have any other problems...for now Thanks for all your help/support guys. I'll let you know how the defect clearing process goes.
-
Cool, will do mate :-) I strongly recommend on fixing that hole and getting a return flow. If Pettet got you (And he probably will) he would see straight through any attempts on hiding it, the guy is thorough. I got done on lakeside blvd right past the biggest rowville lake, just becareful mate.
-
Thanks for the offer mate. Luckily the seller included the factory side mount so worst comes to worst i'll chuck it in. Well i'll see what the engineer says. If it's bad news. I'm going to spend tonight taking out the FMIC and putting the SMIC in. The car is bog stock other wise. I took the liberty of having everything illegal removed (boost controller, pod). Pettet didn't say anything about the exhaust, however i'm 100% i'll get the EPA in the mail :-(
-
Cool, i couldn't believe it the first time i saw it. I thought someone had moved my car into the court! Sounds like a nice machine, wouldn't mind a closer look at it if you're in the area one of these days :-)
-
My brother 'superspit' is picking up my car from work in an hour or two to take to an engineer to see if it can be done. We'll see what happens. Somehow i think it's not gonna happen
-
I'll return it to stock. Who knows, i'll install one of these and Pettet would defect me for having a shiny intercooler that is distracting to other drivers. Can't win. Priority is getting it stock.
-
Ashneel, do you drive the white r34 exactly like mine? You usually park outside my house. Pettet knew exactly what to look for. Within 2 seconds of approaching my window: "Pop the bonnet". Takes the flashlight out and goes straight for the hole without checking whether or not the car had an FMIC.

7 friggin days! I mean come on, i'm going to have to go through so many procedures to get it fixed in time. I thought the officer would have been slightly more lenient. I'm still unsure what to do. I need a VASS certificate (A requirement on the defect notice) which i cannot get because as others have pointed out, an engineer won't sign off on it. Do i fix it and get it road worthied first then get a VASS certificate? Why would i need a VASS certificate if the problem has been resolved? I'm screwed.

Lol, she'll probably be on carsales in a few weeks time.

Really? Ah F*** How much is this going to cost me? Shouldn't have bought a friggin skyline

Yer, he was a pretty decent guy. Straight to the point but informative and factual. Whether my perfect driving record makes a difference, i don't know. Basically said go to the vic roads website and find an engineer. It was quite funny. He was combing over my car, me and my mate were looking over his SS. That thing looked friggin low!
