  1. Very sad to hear. Stories like these reinforce my decision to spend $250 on a GPS tracker and SMS immobilization points. Best money i have ever spent :-)
  2. Had a gorgeous milenium jade R34 GTR Vspec 2 Nur catch up to me the other day on Stud Road near Kellets. Got beside me, wound down the window had a few words. Then he booted it and it was gone in a flash. Unbelievable car, cannot wait to own one of these bad boys one day :-)
  3. Lol whatever impresses those lucky enough to afford it ("Ohhh look Margaret, i'm putting down 805hp, still got another 200 on reserve). But in all honesty, the veyron is an engineering marvel. I don't think you'll ever see a car as crazy.
  4. Are you sure the O2 voltage is being reported correctly? Perhaps the turbo timer was not connected to the o2 sensor output? It should range from 0-1v (Sweeping back and worth when you hold revs constant above 1.5k) A completely dead sensor (open circuit) will read ~0.3v (Reference voltage the car spits out). It may spit out something close to constant 0 or 1v otherwise if something else is wrong with it. If this was the case, your car will let you know. I have a 34 and if you unplug the o2 sensor, the check engine light comes on within 5-10 minutes. In any case, the o2 sensor shouldn't cause problems at idle (I think the car runs in open loop anyways at idle). Not sure about the 33's but the VCT solenoid can cause erratic idle if it's defective (What i have observed anyway by manually turning on/off the solenoid at idle with a consult cable).
  5. Yes! How funny would it be if you pulled up at the lights today, only to witness......... A BMW Z4 drifting through a red light with paint spraying everywhere! It could happen, surely the only reason why you buy a Z4 is it's ability to lose traction and create colorful art simultaneously. Next time you see odd paint on the road, there is a fair chance it was a Z4 (Paint spray would depict extent of traction loss)
  6. Yer this is what shits me. They took down the ad because it promotes hoon behaviour. By the same process, they should ban all motor sport depicting fast/dangerous driving. Australia is getting out of control with censorship. If you have been keeping track of the ALP cyber safety plan, you'll know what i mean.
  7. Thought i would share the following article: http://www.news.com.au/business/story/0,27...597-462,00.html
  8. You're being sarcastic right? The reason why an intercoooler leads to a power gain is because the air gains temperature as it is compressed by the turbo (Boyle's law if i remember correctly). The intercooler effectively 'attempts' to bring the warmed air to ambient temperature (Lower charge temp = higher o2 density = more power). In an NA car, the intake temp is nearly the same as ambient temp, hence all an intercooler would achieve is restriction and a nice power loss.
  9. Yer, i'm nearly 100% sure that a replacement license has an 'A' next to expiry. If you lose your replacement they put a 'B'
  10. Geez if that's the case and the car is legit, road worthied and feels alright. Go for it!
  11. Somethings definately wrong. Even if it was a tiptronic GTT, you would be looking at least $14-15k
  12. something is not right here. $10500 for a GT-T?
  13. Not a problem. Go with the GT-T you won't be disappointed :-)
  14. Hi. I went thorugh this decision about 7 months ago. I came really close to buying a gts-t, but ended up going for a 98 gt-t instead. Here's my decision process: I personally think the R34 is a better looking car More refined feel compared to the R33 206kw Neo engine versus 187kw S2 motor. Torque is also up ~50nm. Very responsive and plenty of torque down low. Slightly newer car, hence less likely to experience problems Price difference, i thought i would fork out the extra $6k for the 34 Revised interior Less of them on the road, R33s are becoming way too common for my liking It's going to come down to gut instinct. When you find the right car, you will know. I looked at around 6 cars and knew straight away that the 34 I have now was for me. What ever you do, don't buy the first car you look at. Take your time to drive other cars, see how they differ. 7 months later and i still love the thing to bits. I look forward to driving it everyday. Best of luck my friend
  15. Hahaha 'He was deep staging me at the light' Very funny clip. There are a heap of similar clips with the same footage. There is one about bluray versus hd-dvd that was quite funny to watch
  16. Spent a few hours changing mine today (R34 GTT). Used a sensor to suit an EL falcon. Hardest part was getting the thing out. I uses a tube spanner used for removing spark plugs in an ancient lawn mower, had to file it down and cut i in half in order to fit over the sensor nicely. From my experience, i recommend that the car is warm before attempting removal. You need to use a lot of WD40 to loosen the sensor. Spray it on, leave it for a few minutes then apply a little more. You also need to remove the metal bracket which the O2 sensor connector clips on to in order to have enough room to get to the sensor. Eventually i was able to use a ratchet in conjunction with the tool i describe above to wrench it free. Crimped the old nissan connector to the new sensor and put it back together. Not terribly difficult. Looking forward to see any differences in economy :-)
  17. Haha, i'm always at lunar (Once every few weeks)! If you see me, don't hesitate to come and say hi.

Now on a serious note.... In relation to your problem. What's done is done. Enough bodily fluids have been shed. Next time wear a bag and you'll be laughing, the line will appreciate it too

  24. Spotted a grey R34 GT-T driving next to me on wellington road on the way to work. Cool having 2 34s next to each other in busy morning traffic. Gave you the thumbs up you smiled and did the same, gotta love skyline drivers :-)
  25. Yer he told me. Well i have no objection, love having a beautiful purple GTR parked out the front of my house :-) If i heard it's alarm go off, i'd be out there in a few seconds.
