You mean like this guy:
-
I agree, if he happened to be someone who wished to do it as a technical experiment as something unique rather than a 'loophole' to a law (which still fails), i'm all for it The fact that he is an 18 year old that thinks he knows more about the laws than people who are far older than him. Bottom line is, he wants an NA GTR to get around the turbo law. In fact, regardless of it being NA, he is still in violation of said law but he continued to argue the point. Then he tries to claim that his supposed NA setup got 250awkw? The guy is a joker, a young nieve know it all that has a lot to learn in life. Another term for this kind a person is an 18 year old male, we are all like this at that age.

Yer common problem, the vtec solenoid stays closed and the engine cannot handle vtec at idle (Too much power) so it spontaneously ignites.

I would replace the o2 sensor first. I gained a a bit by doing this yet alone an o2 sensor that has probably never been changed. Factors such as agressive driving and heavy traffic will naturally kill fuel consumption. I consistently average 12.5L/100km with the odd squirt of acceleration and well moving traffic.

I don't think there is any advantage what so ever even with modest improvements to the standard boost level. The factory gts-t bov seems more than capable of holding decent boost. Someone else may correct me on this, feel free.

I'd recommend you try and get a stock one off ebay. Even if you go aftermarket you are just asking for trouble with police. Dosing noises are not going to be in your favour around police either. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Skyline-R33-GST-T-S...=item27b1c25800 There is no way i know of to remove this 'rich' condition on lift off with stock management unless you go aftermarket.
-
It's just not worth the silly noise. The ECU in normal operation expects that the air is recirculated back into the intake. You have blocked off the BOV causing a 'rich' condition when you lift off the accelerator, causing a pop, a black rear bar and a potential to stall. Don't block off the BOV, leave it the way nissan intended

Gold! Couldn't think of a sillier way to spend $200k

Welcome. Good choice of vehicle mate, if i do say so myself

Hi guys, After an R34 bonnet (white) to suit a GT/GTT. Prefereably located within South Eastern suburns of Vic. Thanks, Luke
-
Good rep from what i hear. Spoke to them when i was looking for my 34. Very friendly, non pushy, layed back attitude which is great for a dealer. Some nice honest cars too

Older Members Debunk Hoon Sterotyping?
lukebaldan replied to GTR-N1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Terry i applaud your want to change the perception of 'hoon' drivers. However i believe your efforts are futile, the hoon label has become so entrenched within the average joes mind that very little can be done to change this perception. It's similar to the little fact that we are able to judge someone within 60s of meeting them. Within 60 seconds we have formulated a good idea about that person (good or bad). Imports have been labelled in a manner which makes everyone perceive them as criminals, to change this perception is very very difficult. Would the average person ever be able to trust a reformed criminal? And for every positive story about enthusiasts, there is another 10 negative stories to dispel anything gained. I drive my car sensibly all the time, 4 years of driving, i am yet to get a speeding ticket. I am courteous at all times and overall a model driver. Does the average person see this? Hell no, thanks to the brush we have been painted with. I feel like a criminal driving my car, however i love it too much to get rid of it. Until something bigger (with more rating, media potential, and convenience for police to target) comes along, we are going to have to persevere -
Yer honestly I would have been suprised if lines were not number one. Only a matter of days until prime time news starts talking about "a hoon has been caught at 14.8dB Over in the early hours of the morning"

In the Sun today: The Nissan Skyline has emerged as Melbourne's noisiest car in a police blitz on ear-splitting vehicles. Over 1360 Environment Protection Authority notices have been issued in the first five days of the Operation Pipedown crackdown. Other main modified offenders were Subaru Imprezas, Holden utes and Honda Civics and Integras

Had a bit of a chuckle reading the article in the paper this morning: "Sponsored by the deaf society of australia" Ahhhhh The irony. Got an image of a deaf person in my head saying "tooooo loud" No offence if you are deaf

Hi guys, I'm after a standard factory exhaust system to suit an R34 GTT from the dump pipe. Seller must be within 25km of Rowville, VIC. Please PM me with the price you are after, we'll see if we can come to an agreement. Regards, Luke

Http://www.419eater.com look for the "tale of the painted red breast"
-
Huh? For one thing, i'm pretty sure all modern electric/hybrid cars use brushless motors with a fixed stator. You're being sarcastic about carbon emissions due to carbon brushes right? Because that makes no sense. The level of emissions from carbon brushes would not be anywhere near a combustion engine

Spotted a new gtr with plates gqzilla. Was next to you trying to get ur attention an give u a thumbs up but turns out you would rather ignore me :-(
-
Yep that's the one. I apologise, i don't know a lot about commodores. In any case, unreal car, haven't heard anything like it.
-
My auto reviewer mate has a 480kw ve e2 walkinshaw ve at the moment. I just watched him take off before and i haven't heard a car that loud in quite some time. Once the valves in the exhaust open, you can hear this thing miles away. This is a factory system, how will this car fair against operation pipedown? Is it safe to say that the above mentioned car would be waved through without worries despite being signifiantly louder than the 90dB law?
-
Can some one please clarify 100% what happens if you get done: -epa notice on suspicion, no fine -on the spot test, subsequenct epa notice -on the spot test, fine for 1st offence -on the spot test, fine for 2nd offence My car has passed 2 roadworthies with the current exhaust, it's not overly loud but it isn't exactly quiet. I've never been epa'd despite being defected on two seperate occasions. I would be quite upset if they hand out $580 fines for a car which to my knowledge is legal and first time offence.

You might want to invest in a console cable, i got mine for $60 off ebay. Invaluble tool for getting stats/error codes and running diagnostics on all older pre OBD-II nissans.
-
But thanks to the media, you would be called a 'hoon' for this offence. Only a hoon would drive around with a near empty washer bottle. We all know an empty washer bottle sheds a little weight and makes the difference between a mediocre skid and an awesome skid

Just spotted a yellow stagea crossing stud rd burwood hwy intersection with a 34 gtr front, looks awesome!
