  1. I envy you mate! 9.5L/100km! You got yourself an econo machine! How on earth are you achieving those figures? Guessing your tune is quite lean across the board
  2. Hey mate, first of all how did you get those figures? The best way is to fill your car up, drive around. Fill the tank back up taking note of km's driven then: litres put back into tank / km * 100 My fairly standard R34 GTT which is never driven in peak hour traffic averages around 12.5L/100km. Your figure of 10-11 sounds insanely good, i would believe it if your car was explicitly driven on highways. A few months ago i took my car to the great ocean road (350km trip) and i averaged 10.8L/100km which i was impressed with. I think you'll find most 'normal' R33 gts-t's and drivers average 12-13L. When you start being aggressive with the right foot, expect figures of 14-16L/100km
  3. Very nice mate! I'm still a while from upgrading to a GTR, cannot wait to be in the situation you are in some day
  4. More bullshit "journalism" by ACA as expected. Clearly they used the word 'skyline' for it's common ACA definition (Skyline - A hoon vehicle that hoons drive to perform burnouts) At least they threw some commondores doing burnouts into the video to offset their blatant mistake. Tracy, you sicken me
  5. It hit rowville very bad! Luckily my car was elsewhere and undercover. Most of the neighbours cars are rooted. My sisters S13 has smashed taillights, smashed windscreen, smashed rear window and no joke, about 100 golf ball sized dents. The house is a mess, the skylights smashed, and the garden is ruined. I feel very sorry for all those affected. My girlfriend left her car at burwood kmart (gets on the tram to go to work), she is on her way back to it now. I pray that it isn't too bad.
  6. Just spotted RB26T at the 1000 steps. That's one clean R32 mate, i like!
  7. Used to do it quite regularly, great way to get fit. You'll always spot the over enthusiastic first timer that thunders up the steps at the start and ends up nearly dying from exhaustion not too far up. I'm trying to do it fortnightly these days
  8. Ohhhh the incredibly rare hilux h-tune. They only made 21 of these babies, this one is a fine example
  9. Nah mate you'll be fine. I hear NASA engines are no harder to put together than a piece of furniture from IKEA, 2 hours max for each one
  10. We're talking about ACA, am i suprised to learn the truth: Not at all! People like silly stories, ACA provide silly stories, network gets millions of viewers, happy network
  11. Cool :-) Were you driving the GTR? Can't recall seeing one
  12. WOT = Wide Open Throttle Even if my battery is quite flat, the starter motor barely turns over and the car still starts quickly. I think it is safe to rule out the battery.
  13. Haha too funny
  14. Not bad, i can see this thread turning into more of these posts ^
  15. And he has been known to use jedi mind tricks to put words in the mouths of offenders "The injectors are not stock", "The injectors are not stock", "I'm going to have to report you to the EPA" But seriously, Pettett is a good cop. Be respectful, do the right thing and he will not have a problem with you. I don't have a worry in the world if he pulls me over again.
  16. Gotta love the way they snuck in the term "high powered"
  17. Yes the driver does have a lot to do with it, but you cannot rule out the car. How many "hoon related" accidents do you see involving older 4 cylinder NA cars? The bottom line is, you put someone young and/or inexperienced in the drivers seat of a high performance car, then they are definately more likely to do something silly. Simple as that. If i had my GTT when i was 18, i would have gotten myself in trouble. Thankfully i waited 4 years until i matured and was responsible enough to own one. Haven't lost a single demerit point. There are already too many idiots in V6 commodores let alone more powerful cars. Yesterday in the wet i had a red P plater in a VS deliberately go into the left lane at the lights to 'drag' me. 5 minutes later i saw another VS p plater fish tail when performing a U turn at the lights. Do you want these people in the possession of higher powered cars? Hell no
  18. I like it. You'll get defected for using nitrous bottles to propel the ejector seats however
  19. Interesting take Terry. I feel the problem with inexperienced drivers is due to 2 distinct issues: -Experience -Risk assessment Yes i agree that new drivers need lots of experience in all conditions and compulsory advanced driving courses but addressing the general immaturity of young drivers is a tough one. How do you explain to some one "Don't do this because this could happen to you" This is the biggest problem young drivers face: "Invincibility" if you want to call it that. Risk assessment is something that is developed certainly over time. No doubt first hand experience in a scary situation makes you realize how dangerous a car is. Is shock treatment successful? Should young people be exposed to a fatal accidents aftermath? Anyways, end of my rant
  20. Wonder how many people get defected for xenons? Is it a common defect?
  21. Absolutely tragic but realistically what else can be done to reduce the road toll? Do we ban 6 cylinder cars as well or do we revise the power to weight limit (Effectively banning many 6 cylinder cars)? What impact would this have on the road toll? I would be interested to see the ratio of high(legal)/low powered cars involved in fatal accidents with P platers at the wheel What do people think? What steps should be taken to reduce horrific traffics involving young people?
  22. They are factory items but removed upon compliance. I believe the ADRs state that xenon systems must be self levelling and feature headlight washer jets Congratulations on the purchase mate :-)
  23. “Police cars here are only factory tuned. You can do better than 180 k, they can't catch you, so they don't even try.”
