It's for that reason why they try too keep the speedo correct in cop cars all the time. In NSW, VIC, SA all the WRX cop cars speed fines had to be refunded for the whole time they were on the road as they had found that the speedos were all out by so much, the WRX cop cars were around for 3-4 years. That was last year and the WRX cop cars were taken off the roads in 2000-2001. It's been on the news so you should be able to look up at news sites for the proper info. That Car Point page would be correct, in that most people don't win, no matter what they say or tey to prove, but also says you can make it work but it's not easy by any means. To prove your maths you'd have to have a court approved expert and stuff so the local machainc might not be good enough, also would need to be a car expert as well so you couldn't just pull joe blow off the street and try it out either. Anyway, Most speed fines are binding so you have to prove you weren't speeding at that time or place.

Ah, the mountain wins again, this happens all the time... I have no idea how much you know but heaps of people have died around there for decades. Most people do about 100 to 120klms, even though the roads are utter crap, a freind of mine had a small samsh in an excel doing 80klms around a corner it's generally wet all the time and moss has grown on the corner and many people end up slidding off the road at the same coner. I my self don't get scred of driving had 3 near miss head-ons, one was on the highway, At the hyperdome, had a road work truck in the middle of the fast lane, stopped and I had a car that wouldn't let me get out to the other lane so I ended up in between the truck and the concrate barrier, the only damage was to the left fender. The car ended up with me sitting just in front of the truck bumpper, had the truck driver look over and he must have shit him self and mouthed are you ok. Said yes, and drove on to work. The thing that gets me the most about that is that the c**ts drove off about a minute after that happened, so if it had been about 2 mins later it probably wouldn't have ever happened, also no roadwork signs were put up either. The skid marks are on the highway, just at the dip after the hill, in the fast line heading towards the barrier, on the towards brisbane side. That was in 2000.

I think this guy is trying to prove that the cop car couldn't be near him and is going to use "maths" to get out of the fine. To do that he is going to use "maths" to say the cop car was only doing such and such speed, this is recorded by the cop car, so they'll be able to look this up. What I've been saying is, you have to prove you weren't speeding. He probably flew by the cop car and didn't know and got pulled over, and the guy is now spewing about it. If that is the case then the guy will be well and truely stufffed as they would simply say yep flew by us at speed he were doing 80 or 100 when he went by.

2 week window, from the 13th, hard to say.

Probably made for racing, like the N1 spec engined Skylines.

Why don't you ring them up and ask what the deal is.

You want some real data? Victorian Police TOG - Holden Commodore The standard patrol vehicle used by the TOG is a Holden Commodore V8, as pictured with the "American Style" lighbar. Unmarked Commodores are also used. Both are SS spec vehicles. Performance (Holden Commodore VR SS manual): 0-100km/h 7.87 seconds 0-400m 15.91 seconds Top Speed 221km/h Not the correct spec but has the numbers, maybe.

Ah, the expert may help, but again dosen't prove much either way. The speed camera would have been out and thus the fine would have been thrown out and the money refunded plus all the out fines that were given out by that camera, I believe in VIC something like 70 cameras were found to be out and something around 8 million in fines were being refunded, that was a few months back. Still though, wheather or not the car could have gotten to 160klms doesn't matter you have to prove you wern't speeding, she was able to prove that the car wasn't able to get to 160klms and thus couldn't be doing that speed at that time, and thus wasn't speeding. This is the problem the cops are saying the guy was speeding and they have proof via their own car speed record, they can use this against the guy to prove he was speeding, and there's probably other methods as well. So then the question becomes was the guy speeding in the first place, if not then prove you wern't speeding then......???? Radars I can understand having problems detecting speeds correctly but lasers would be different, they work so fast in milli seconds. Just looking at some specs of a laser speed setector and it's 0.3seconds to get a reading, and has a +/- of 1.6klms not bad hey. Anyway, I don't think your maths will stop the fine because they will prove their speed via their speed recordings and with your maths trying to prove their speed it wouldn't mean anything as they are trying to prove that you were speeding in the first place. Which is the reason why I'm saying you have to prove that you couldn't have been speeding, it will be interenting to see what happens though either way. I'm not fussed if he does or doesn't get the fine, I was just pointing out something to you, and he'll have to think about this as they will use this stuff if they can.
-
Ah, You havn't read what I've writen. All cop cars are calibrated to give the correct speed for their engine to trie size etc etc, the speed in the cop car is also recorded. So all they have to do is follow you for a set preiod of time, this will allow them to guage your speed for that length of time, they will bring this into court to help them prove that you were speeding. Your maths can say anything you want but you really have to prove that their speed record is incorrect, they can check the cop car in question about that also if the cop car comes up as being correct your maths won't save you. This is how they get around your little maths thing in court. I guess what I'm saying is that you have to prove that the speed they were doing was in-correct and it'll be hard to do as they will have proof of the speeds they were doing, do you have proof of what speeds you were doing? Understand what I'm saying now. Other people have used your idea before and some have won and others have lost. See what happens I guess, it sucks but this is how things go.
-
Ok, let me get this right.... The guy is going to walk into court and say "Hey you know what I can't have been speeding because...... It takes a cop car 22.2 seconds to catch up to me..." Taa Daa!!!!! Speeding fine dropped off the face of the planet. It wouldn't work like that, because A) You have to PROVE that you weren't speeding. B) Assuming that the guy wasn't done for a radar, Which I know the guys in QLD sit in cop cars in the middle of the highway and radar people and just knock'em off that way. Then they just pull out and pull you over down the road and issue the fine to you or just pass it thruogh anyway. Then it becomes a case of wheather you could prove that the radar is out or something at the point of where the radar was that could cause a problem. C) A cop car would have to sit behind you for at least 5 to 10 mins before they can use the speed of the cop car compared to your own car to put down the fine. You can use all the maths you want but depending on the way they have got you there's not much you'll be able to do about it. Even if it was a speed camera and you say the pic is too blurry, and you goto court you pull out your crap printed letter photo and they pull out a super perfect A1 photo of your car in complete 3cm x 3cm detail of your rego plate. Most of the cases where people get off is due to it being a first then they change the laws etc so you can't do that anymore. Maths of a car may or may not apply to the cop car because they can easily tell what the speed is of the cop car, so all they need to do is look up the records they don't need maths to tell them what speed they were doing. So because of that you should get the cop car in question checked out and if it's spot on your F****D
-
You'll be hard pressed to defend yourself, if they got you on a radar then it won't matter how far down the road they get you as they have the radar speed to get you on. It'd be like saying but I wasn't speeding and they only got me 10klms down the road but this radar detected you going this much over the speed at this point 10klms up the road.... Also if you have been follwed you'll find it hard pressed as well, as all cop cars have a computer that takes down the speed of the cop car all the time so they can tell what speed the cop car has been doing compared to your car. On top of this, they make sure a cops car does perfect speeds on their dash board, so they can follow behind you and check your speed out if your going faster than 100klms then you'll find it hard to prove other wise. Maths isn't really gpoing to save your ass because they'll get the data from the cop car for that period of time, and compare your data to their own. The only real way would be to check to see if the speedo is out in the cop car and if it's out then the fine will probably be thrown out. This is what happened to the WRX cop cars in VIC and NSW their speedos were out and after 2-3 years this was found out and all the speeding fines from the WRX's where they followed behind people were thrown out and the money refunded back. This would be unlikly in a commonwhore cop car though.

She here top flim a movie in sydney, it's a short movie can't remember the name but it starts with a W. I think the movie is going to take 1 month. the only reason why I can see she's famous is from the times she poses on the street for the people standing in the gutter, so she thinks she is a model or says she is and those people do but she hasn't done any real modeling and she hasn't done any classes for modeling..... So take your guess she basicly does nothing because she has a few spare mill hanging around from the hotels etc. She's not very good at the **** wear maybe she could take some tips from the bar girl in tiwan at least they know how to wear a see-thru top, some stockings and some heels.

The mods you can do, without any problems are, Tyres, Window tinting (not on front window) window wiper blades. Everything else would/could be defect unless you have a enginer cert on it, in QLD the enginer cert is in the engine bay and lists all the mods that have been enginer cert'd so if you have that on every mod the police can't defect you as it's been deemed safe. Pods are illegal because they can make too much noise thus taking your car over the safe DSB limit on engines. If you don't have the enginer cert then it's basicly up to the cop as to what happens there after, you might not get anything you could end up with a $150 fine plus 3 lost points as that what the defect fine and points are, amount of defects don't seem to matter. Also need to provide an engineer cert to the police to say everything is safe or fixed up. You can be defected for not having enough tire tread..... as a guy at my work got done for also get done for 3-4 other things as well. As the saying goes though, Act like a dickhead, get treated like a dickhead.

Just looking up in a UK car mag. Has a news thing that says the UK cops can pull you over and take your lic away for any amount of time, So they could take away your lic forever and you wouldn't be able to get another lic. It's part of a new law given to the cops for stopping people from doing stupid stuff on the street but it also includes people that are crusing around in large groups in cars, doesn't matter if your all being good either.

you can adjust the clutch pedal as well. Maybe it's not working properly.

The real point to the inspection, is to see whats majorly wrong with the car. Doing high speeds and a few full lock turns are only going to show you that the engine doesn't go pop at 200klms, or the ball joints were ok at that time. It hasn't shown you wheather the gearbox is ok, or will need replacing or major work done to it, any engine leaks or any other leaks, or any of the other problems that come up on old cars. Had a car dealer saying the exact same things as yourself I don't know why your bothering to look at the engine or look at any of the penals, etc he was also saying there's not much point in going for a test drive as you can't tell jack really. If you look at the cars well enough you can tell wheather it's been crash etc. But overall the real point to the inspections to just to see what major things are stuffed or could be stuffed soon and need replacing. Be pretty bad if you paid $20,000 on a car and found out 2 months later that you have to shell out $10,000 to get the engine re-built because the owner before you didn't run the engine in properly.
-
Maybe someone has removed or played around with the HICAS unit and havn't put it back together again properly. I would doudt that you would have a stock car, it may have come to you seeming stock, but it doesn't mean the owner before you hasn't done anything. I've read/know some people that do up their cars and when they sell them they rip out all the parts and put all the old parts back in and then sell the car.

I believe the VL turbo engine is a RB20det engine.

Exhaust Design Article By Garrett Engineer
Zagan replied to GTR32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ha!, this sounds exactly the same as a steam engine. IE, the steam injectors. You'd use a pipe that took steam through it, but if you make it smaller at one end, the speed of the steam will speed up and when the steam went through the injector which would be like a + intersection it would suck water through the other pipes. I'm guessing the guy in the 1st post had the same idea, as the steam injector. the smaller intake ie air pipe, engine exhuast exit pipe (just before the turbo) would be better a better place for those types of pipes as it would speed up the exiting gases from the engine thus speeding up the turbo spool time. after the turbo you'd fine that it wouldn't have great effect as it would cause the exit gases to pool around the turbine, which wouldn't be a good thing. if you change the pipe so it goes larger then you slow down the steam, but you can get rid of any pooling points along the steam pipe. So again after the turbo you'd want the pipe to go larger or be large all the way along. an interesting thing might be to make the pipe smaller closer to the exit hole, this would speed up the exit gas but it wouldn't be able to pool up as much nor pool around the turbine. -
the RACQ check would be worth the money no matter what you wanted to get checked out. Generally if someone who isn't too happy about getting the car checked by RACQ, either knows there's stuff wrong with the car or don't want you to find out there's something wrong with it and don't buy it. Which is the real point behind the RACQ check. If someone is happy to get it checked out then you can say that the car would be ok as the person wouldn't have anything to worry about. Also if you pay to get the check you don't have to show the report to the owner and the RACQ won't give the report to the owner at all. So the guy who wants to pay half is probably wanting to see what the reports says as well.

4,000K to 5,000K will give off a some what reddish light it's below normal daylight kelvin. 6,500K is daylight ie the sun. Above that is going to be more bluer, blue light travels the further than any other light spectrum so you could expect the bluer lights to go further but you'd also end up with a blue light so a blue light might not always be the best when driving. An example would be the sky, it's not really blue it has no colour the only reason why it looks blue is that blue travels the best through the ozone layer, and doesn't get cut as much as the other colour spectrums.
