V8 Supercars is ONLY an Australian thing, but Brittian has TOCA, and USA has Nascar, all are the exact same thing no different only different names. Anyway. I think HPI have a good thing going they seem to be about drift club meets rather than how to do drift, Speed mag's Drift thing is pretty crap really, From what I've seen on the Drift Bilbe by the guy made started drifting in Japan and made the D1 comp in Japan and is number 1 when it comes to drift in anyone's eyes. The Speed mag's Drift stuff goes completely in the wrong direction, to this video on how to drift, First things are meant to be suspsion, and brake pads, Speed says it's better tyres and some extra power? 2nd stage is then suspsion and maybe brakes depedning on the car on some cars it's the 3rd stage. First stage is generally above $1,000 to $2,000 and 2nd stage is above $5,000 in general. Most coments under pics is about what drift they are doing, One notable one is a car apprently a D1 car, and the "pro" is doing a hand brake drift or toe-in drift? what the Fark? In the video the guy calls "hand brake drifts" as a wankers drift, and isn't a drift at all. I don't know I think I will stop now, All I can say is that the Speed mag on drift is pretty crap at best, even stuff they have in there wouldn't be too great to use or learn from all you'd end up doing is plughing through something at best.

I'd say and I guess you already know this is, but the monay has probably been spent by him to get himself a T51 kit for his car or what ever. Seems odd to me why he would be giving dody details to someone who wants to hand over the money but anyway. Personally all these posts show is that you never buy anything via paypal sites or ebay crap sites. A complete waste of time and money, I have other frineds who buy a few computer things via ebay because some guy at his work buys all his computer stuff via ebay, he has said he wins some and loses some all the time on ebay. I guess your lucky in that it's only cost you about half to 75% of that amount of money.

Is this the Next GTR... "Oh no not again!!!"
Zagan replied to meshmesh's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Peope who only buy BMW or Merc only buy those cars for a reason, they might like another car but would they go and buy it, probably not. -
You can open before you get it, or get them to check it, I've seen people do that at my post office.

First pic looks the same as the production car for the new skyline GTR. I like the look of the first pic, looks like it's from the future and I really like that look, If i have the money when they come out I'd buy one straight away and bring over here. It's two different cars thou, as parts on each car are different, look at the bonnets of each car for a start , the beveel in the bonnet of the first car would take a long long time to do, and hard to get right for each change in angle. Also the angles of each car are complete different, if both cars were the same, then maybe but looking at the wheels the 2 cars are travelling are different speeds, the first car is going slower. -

Even with good alarms put in they can be taken out pretty quick because they generally either have 1 or 2 batteries, also you could disconnect the alarm etc or do something to switch it off so place it at strange places, you'd need to install the alarm yourself though. I really don't think most pros would bother with a tow truck, for a start most people hear the tow track coming up your drive way anyway or the road for that matter, think about it if you never hear a truck in your street and one night you hear a truck engine and then it stops idles at the front of your place, and then you hear the air breaks going off, most people will take a look just to see what a truck is doing in the street. Another thing would be to remove exteral door locks, make sure all the door seals are perfect etc, install internal door locks that don't allow them to be pulled open. The general amount of time to break in start up and get going for someone stealing the car is under 30 seconds and that isn't a pro by the way, if you were going to steal a car you wouldn't **** around with slow trucks and crap you get in quick and **** off quick simple as that. Once it starts to take longer than 30 seconds the people will probably pass and take any crap they can find etc, after all you don't want to get busted and you don't exectly want to leave empty handed.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10...
Zagan replied to Rezz's topic in General Automotive Discussion
How can there be a EVO X, when the EVO VIIII isn't even out and people don't even know what it will look like. -
Sounds like BS to me, take the fine paper to the transport dept, and ask them about what's been writen on there and see what they say. Bent number plates shouldn't be a defect as I have seen plantly of cars with bend number plates running around the place, This is in QLD though. If that guy is running around and handing out defect fines, based on probably not liking imports or young drivers with cars that they shouldn't be driving, then you should look into getting all the stuff eng sighted and have a paper photocopied ready to hand to him and if he questions the photocopied eng report (I'm sure he will) just say you have the orginal at home and will be walking into the police office tomorrow to show the people there, I wouldn't say you were going to make a complaint about him as he'll probably hand you heaps of fines. If you have a eng report the police can't fine you as they have been sighted and deemed safe for the Australian roads, a copper still trying to hand you the fine is only being a dickhead, as the fine would be thrown out. Also a non-signed fine, go and ask about that at the police station, if they say it's a canned fine, then make a complaint about the person, for handing out dodgy fines etc and defecting items that can't be defected or already deemed safe by the transport dept. The Transport dept are real people who handle defects anyway. One things that has me stuffed is the 12degs things speed cameras have to be at a 45+deg facing to the road otherwise they can't get jack.

Nitromethane and chemical turbocharging
Zagan replied to funkymonkey's topic in General Automotive Discussion
As I said before the RC fuel is cheap because they don't need to use a lot of nitro in the mix, so a 44gal drum would be enough for 1000 bottles of RC fuel depending on the mix. I would think it would be dearer due to it not being used much. Resultant heat could be a problem, the top fuel drag car's engine have to be cut from the fuel supply before the engine stops, There's enough heat to keep everything ticking over, so what you might find is that the heat might keep the fuel combusting over and over, making your engine work faster and faster, unless you cut the fuel supply. That or your block might just melt or crack or warp badly, would need all new internals etc so they don't melt etc. -
F1 cars get their speed via the driver and the drive train being made to put down the power perfectly. Ferrari, wn last years F1 and looks like they will win this years as well. A normal car might have say 50 to 60% traction a F1 car would be 90 to 100% traction at all times, for a normal car that wouldn't be all the time.

Nitromethane and chemical turbocharging
Zagan replied to funkymonkey's topic in General Automotive Discussion
The RC fuel isn't pure BTW. It's a mix of nitro, castor oil, and something else can't remember so you couldn't use in a car unless you wanted it smoking and probably stuffing things inside the motor as well. The mix goes like this. 5 to 30/40% nitro 75 to 50/60% castor oil and the rest is the other stuff The mixes always add up to 100% -
You can't be your own expert in your own court trial, the expert would be baised.

I see YOU still don't get it. Your speeding, your going in and saying you were speeding, all the cops have to do is prove your car can do the speed and that you were speeding at that time and why and how. The judge isn't going to give a **** about the cop car because it doesn't matter as they would have had to speed up to give you the fine anyway, other wise you wouldn't have it in your hand. You'd need the expert to prove that in the space of time and over the road that YOUR car couldn't have done the speed that is stated on the fine. Do you understand what the go is, you have been served a fine and that means by law that you were doing what ever it has writen on it and you have acepted that the fine is valid, you can contest it but the fine is still standing. I'm not a laywer by the way, but the law is sometimes cut and dry. Your can cross ref the cops but the cops can say we were doing the speed limit at the time 3 other cars were also doing the speed limit your car was fling by 1 or 2+ cars way above the stated speed limit for the road. And bang'o your maths suddenly means what on the cop car, again? I don't know exactly how or what your going to say to them, but it'll either make it easy for the judge to rule or make you look like a dickhead, or get you out of it.

I don't think you can comply a Skyline without the B pillar as they have to strength it so it's up to the ADR rules. A bit pointless taking out something that all ready has to be able to with stand at least 1,000+ kgs hitting it. Show cars might be different but I'd say you'll find it hard to get a light rego on the car.

Current Fastest production car is a family BMW car. Mclaren is slow compared to other cars now.

Most alarms are hooked up to the car battery and if you disconnect the car battery the alarm suddenly doesn't work, that's reason why some car alerms have 2 or 3 batteries. I've heard stories of groups of lebs going around places and stealing cars from drive ways before, one guy told me they were just about to roll the car out the garage (car wasn't turned on so no noise) and then do what ever. I think some banged or stanp or just lucky to head out to/near the garage and seen the people him and the car owner chased the lebs down the street. That would have been in west end brisbane, car a rotary Rx6 or 7, last year as well. If anything it's probably still in Brisbane but will be hard to find again as you can't just go up and check out every car you want. And as for the dog I wouldn't trust an untrained dog to do more than sh*t on the grass, if anything went.

I wouldn't be so quick to down play the Skyline as a Drift car as Top Secert has a R34 GTR D1 car.

If you want cheaper petrol, either buy cars that don't use petrol at all. Or Get the Opec contries to sell the barrels at a cheaper price, Only Opec contries controls petrol prices no one else, not even the USA can do much about Opec, as the Opec contries are mainly the Middle east contries, back in the 70's the Opec contries canned all oil shippments to USA and UK, because they wanted something but the middle east didn't like the idea so they simply cut their oil supply. If you really want cheaper oil/petrol, Currently the world's largest supply in off the western shelf, IE just off western Australia, there' more oil there than all the middle east contries including the USA and British supplies and there's still some more, it's something like 5-10 billion barrels sitting there Australia knows about but doesn't do anything to go and get it because they pollies can't get their shit together, indonsia has already started drilling and has started placing oil wells etc, and Austrlaia is here bitching about wheather to start or not. It's a complete joke. By the way all the top line petrols are 98%ron, that's Vortex, BP, Shell's Optimax is 98%ron but is the only one that also cleans your engine, works very well optimax.

Humm, I find in interesting that people say it would cost more to race on a racetrack than it would to drift around a track. Any car can be drifted, but you can't just drift any stocko car around and expect it to stay on the track for long you always need to do the suspension before drifting in any car. I would think that with racing you simply pay and go around the track as best as you can, with a stocko car no mods needed, sure you'll only get 2-3 goes around the track before having to stop for 1-2 hours but at least you can do racing without any mods at all. I myself would prefer to race straight lines around the track and that's what I also do out on the road as well.

The sheild is there to stop water from splashing over the brake rotor and cooling down your breaks, You won't stop quick if your brakes get water on them. I can't remember the exact name for it but it's water something.

take oil filler cap off......STALL???
Zagan replied to superspit's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yep, and it for that very reason why they have to other wise people would be sueing the car companies. After all there's only so many times you'll get away with your stupidty. -
It's a useless get rich scheme.
-
Yep and I wonder if the guy will pay half, in the end though it's a pointless scheme and it's a "get rich quick" idea, see heaps of drivers pay him $69 everyday, but he only pays so many people a year or fines a year, and keeps the rest. His idea is probably hoping that heaps of people don't send him lots of fines or that more drivers that don't speed much still pay for it anyway.
