  1. I'm interested , it'd be for my R34GTT will it fit ?? (I think it may not as there is a 6cm unthreaded shank after the threaded top ) , how tall is it ? and what diameter thread ?
  2. Will these fit an R34GTT ? What are the spring rates ? Are these hight adjustable ? if not what hight do they sit the car at ? (The pic file is so large I couldn't download it )
  3. spacers = Wheel bearings --- ? Shockys ?-------- mine gave of a load of small funny (not) intermitant noises from knocks to groans at slow /manouvering speeds, had a couple of leaking shockys (1 front 1 rear) put in new all good again.
  4. Not quite clear whats happened but I can tell you it's a minefield, firstly don't for Christs sake get a warranty issue mixed in with a missrepresentation issue they are two differnt legal jurisdictions and you could end up hogtied for years. Warranty-- (broken not workin bits of the car.) small claims/magistrates and moving on district court next stop supreme court. If you have a warranty matter issue a defect notice to the dealer that sold you the car telling them exactly the nature of the problem and follow the proceedure , you do not need to be nice , you don't need to be rude either , there is a clear proceedure you can follow, every motor dealer knows this though it is doubtfull one in 50 would actualy help you , most will bullshit and hinder, there is an act in every state and territory which will tell you your rights goggle 'property agents and motor dealers act' and find the section that deals with warranty as it apertains to your vehicle in your state /territory, this varies with age and k's of vehicle , don't be frightened of the act just focus on finding the bits that relate to you're situation , legal aid can be helpfull, give them a call if you get stuck they can be slow but hey they're free. Missrepresentation --Department of Fair trading. (you didnt get what you paid for.) this can be very serious as it can border on/be criminal. If you feel that you haven't got what you paid for this may be missrepresentation, in this instance you will have to recall conversations made at the time of sale as well as produce any advertising and other proof to back up your claim. For example if someone has knowingly sold you a car as a GTR that is actualy a GT and you purchased it as a result of thier promotion and sales you may have a case to bring. These cases are hard to prove and littered with eroneous precidents keep it simple 'I DIDN'T GET WHAT I PAID FOR' would be my take on it. The department of fair trade can advise you whether you may have a case go in and see them , you can pick up the start of what will turn out to be a mountain of paperwork they are patialy staffed by lazy wankers in my experiance so expect a fair ammount of the 'Sir Humphrey' syndrome however some of them will actualy go to bat for you if your case is warranted, I would advise seeing a solicitor if you're going this way it's a tricky one even though in many instances it shouldn't be. All the best with it I have been there and back with both warranty and missrepresentation actions , I won both , but it was a battle.
  5. Mate, just saw the revised prices-I'm in as long as it will fit.
  6. Ah - Hem, how minor ? look forward to seeing the pic of your R34GTT, I'm interested as long as I don't need a course in bodywork to put the thing on . Should maybe consider for the R34GTT ? there's a few of us out there. I saw a post a while ago about radiator panel thingos like this being unbenificial did anyone else catch it ?
  7. No worries cose it or it could be moved to general disscussion if you want ?? Quote"- "I'm just interested in how much they would be worth and if anyone would be actualy interested in buying."
  8. Yup I know what you mean, I got rid of a set of OE 16s of a 00 WRX and put a set of Starcorp racing 17" boat anchors, stupid me, the OE 16s were infinately better wheels, wieghed next to nothing, better idea to keep the stockys anyway and put them back on if I sell the car and sell the aftermarket ones. You wouldn't happen to know what the stockys wiegh by any chance ?
  9. Ah -Ha, thanks mate, would you expect rubber with @ $300.00 ?
  10. Thanks for that, gives me some idea if I go to trade them on the change over, I wouldn't be going up in size so I'd probably be wanting to keep the rubber thats on them and as I ain't into giving stuff away it'll probably be easier to use them in a trade than haggle around at that price, but as you say they look decent enough anyway so I won't be rushin.
  11. Blitz Duel SBC spec R boost contoller Would this be the right one for an R34GTT or would it be the spec S silly question maybe but I just don't know.
  12. He he , Newby-pick up $407.00 -10% GST($40.07) = $366.93 -25% retail mark up ($91.73) =$275.20.-- I presume this little number has no warranty or replacement policy if faulty ? just a question. New or S/H ? not realy clear on that iether. Oh Yup nearly forgot + post.
  13. Yup SAF-XA -not XE- typo , my bad. OK. Heres a link to Castrols recomendations for R34GTT http://www.datateck.com.au/lube/castr_au/default.asp And some more home grown advice here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Transmission- Lubricants-t205993.html://http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/fo...ts-t205993.html And HHHmmmm hope you have more luck with your local pissant dealer than I had with mine who couldn't /wouldn't sell me or tell me SFA about anything to do with R34 fluids-of any type. The Penrite 75w-90 SIN actualy came as a recomendation from a genius at Penrite.(no mention of friken hypoid.) And :- Product Description Castrol SAF-XA is a fully synthetic rear axle fluid incorporating Castrol’s most advanced transmission fluid technology. It is designed to provide protection at the utmost extremes of very low and high operating temperatures where mineral gear oils prove unsatisfactory. It is Castrol’s prime recommendation for competition, severe duty and long drain applications. Product Application Castrol SAF-XA is recommended for rear axles of passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Holden V8 rear axles. Trucks including “road-trains” operating in severe service where high oil temperatures in the differentials and power dividers are encountered. Competition vehicle rear axles, Group A, sport sedans, Formula Holden, Rally cars. Castrol SAF-XA was the transmission-rear axle fluid used by Sauber-Mercedes who won the 1989 Le Mans 24 Hour Endurance Sports Car Race and the 1989 and 1990 World Sports Car Championships. Both limited slip and non-limited slip rear axles. For vehicles towing caravans and heavy trailers. In certain manual transmissions, where GL5 80W/90, 90 or 85W/140 are recommended. Covers full rear axle viscosity range from SAE 75W through to SAE 140. “Legs” of outboard and stern-drives used in competition (e.g. Formula One and ski racing). Eaton, Rockwell or Dana axles where synthetic oils are specified for long drain So instead of snide remarks I suggest you get of your ass and find out from your obviously compliant Nissan dealer then post it up for everyones information.
  14. I've ended up useing :-- Diff--Castrol SAF XE. About 1.6ltr to fill it was a ass to get in due to a fat exhaust and it just didn't want to fill, I rotated a back wheel and moved the diff core waited a minute then it seemed to fill more easily. Gearbox--Nulon 75w-85 fully synthetic smooth shift, Don't whatever you do make the mistake of putting a hypoid gear oil of any type in the gearbox-ah hem --who me ? - the shift will go to lead. The fill was 3.8ltrs Castrol also do a Syntrans 75-90 which is suposed to be good as well and it's suposed to rrp at around $22.00 a litre but you will find that our enterprising aftermarket assholes often , if they have it attall , price it the same as Syntrax at around $33-35.00ltr. The Syntrans is recomended by Castrol for the R34GTT the Syntrax isn't. (in mineral Castrol also recomend a 75W-85 VMX and a VMX-M 80 wieght. I change the gearbox and diff oil every twelve months as I do most of my K's in small trips , I live in a hotish climate and I do low overall K's , I just figure its cheap insurance.
  15. I'm thinking of going for aftermarket rims and not being made of money I'm thinking of selling the stockys to help offset the cost and wonder if anyone is interested in them :- doubleclick image twice for full size image They're OE 98 R34GTT 17 x7.5 (8 ?) with a 35 offset (I think) 5 x 113/4. whatever, I'll hoy one of and check if anyones seriously interested, there's no gutter rash or dings/scratches on any of them. I'm just interested in how much they would be worth and if anyone would be actualy interested in buying.
  16. $300.00 + $12.00 Expresspost to Qld 4215
  17. Thanks for that but I'll pass at the moment, I was going to do the nisstune thingo with it and put it on the shelf to use later (I'm in the middle of moving house) and for $50 it'd be fine, $80s just a bridge to far ATM.
