  1. so hows it travelling? heard back re your suspension yet? poor bugger, i would have so stat dec'd it. so common down here in NSW its become a verb
  2. ah no wonder you put in for drivers copping it worse, i cant argue with that re suicides but we guards can still be exposed to a bit of grief if its a messy one. We also get a lot more stuff thrown/spat at us and terry, how do you know if your DNA is susceptible to mdma? how large is that risk? what kind of damage do the offspring have? just bad memory retention or possible psychosis? thats all my kid needs with the relatives he has..
  3. "how are the Smiths from Mt Druitt going to do it in their VN vacationer wagon with 4000000ks and the original shocks going to do it without flying off and becoming part of the scenery. "i fail to see how this is a bad thing" I heart this thread.. oh and obligitary pic..
  4. black r32 GTR on parra road heading west from broadway to at least norton st, driving super slow. CTC 247 1129 am sweet looking ride, some young asian dude driving it, probably sydney uni student. oh and rb25PWR no fair your on the road ALL day as HWP, surprised u dont spot a dozen a shift, and will u 'spot' the ones u defect/book?
  5. "insert backhand, pokies ruin lives i know, i helped them do it for a year and a half (pokie tech)...." tell me about it, she has sunk thousands into those things but just cant shake the habit, he ex is a pokie tech too so she should know better. Mark tuita, know him? or is your joint in Ultimo, i know another polie tech who used to work there..Jeff something. there that narrowed it down..
  6. @ terry, but do E's damage you permanently? @ blk, you were a central guard? for how long? how many fatalities did you have? what kind of public servant are you if your not accepting paid leave when its offered? i dont mind the work but i im not in love with it enough to turn up when they will give me the same money to chill out home for a bit, are you one of those guards who would go up to the assigner when your on standby and ask for work? lol, buff.
  7. yeah woodsy, some awesome pics there. wonder if taking them would have consituted a violation of some arcane road rule seeing as that camera was nearly as heavy as your MG.. and yeah God Speed, the missus wanted to check out some of the shops once i had finally wrestled her out of the pokies, thank god she had blown most of her cheddar on the machines so the shopping was limited to browsing the window displays. never seen so many cuckoo clocks in one place and i have been to Switzerland! We left a good ten min after you guys but i guess i was luckier with the lights re catching up. Did anyone see that bloke being booked on the highway on the soutbound lanes? was after I took off ahead, i think being overtaken by a minibus for handicapped kids was what finally got me to snap and leave the convoy
  8. is there anyway to see if your own car has a warning on it that may have been placed there under previous owners? would you hazard that the work car is faster than most skylines or just yours?
  9. yeah i think he meant an actual wall, just shows how much they model their training on the armies. At least back in the day.
  10. http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/state-election-2011/review-of-speed-limits-20110226-1b9gb.html O'Farrell reckons hes going to have a hard look at revenue raising tactics and probably raise limits on country roads. If thats a promise me likey otherwise just another empty election time stunt?
  11. RB25, fantastic post, would love to vicariously live the life on the other side of the fence if only through your posts/some kind of awesome blog? Its good they allow you to use your discretion still with cases like the pregnant falcon driver, sounds like she has a rough enough future as it is without the suspension. I was worried the video/audio recording would entail random audits of your stops and hence a lot more ass covering but it seems like people can still get the benefit of the doubt in the right circumstances. Phew. 12694462 is my licence number, your welcome to have a look and wince apropriately, the 35 overs are a bit old now but i still think its unlikely to pass muster with recruitment fitness would be fine and MBS you should go for it, a coupla runs every week and you will be fine. (oh and are u implying as long as im staying no more than 20 over im ok in your neck of the woods? always thought about ten over was safe but..hmmm)
  12. interesting post Terry, had heard a few similar things about those drugs and as a 'rehabilitated' eccy user (lived in Holland for a few years..oddly pot not huge with locals over there but pills..wow, very popular at least in the early naughties). has there been any studies dont on long term effects? i remember reading something about short term memory loss but that mainly there was a lack of research in the field. Apparently your natural serotonin levels do drop with frequent use but after abstaining for years it should climb back up to previous normal levels?
  13. Well hello there!
  14. didnt catch up with the main group till it got to the pie shop thanks to a dodgy GPS and a sleepy gf but was great to see everyone there even if table space and shyness prevented me from getting to know everyone but it was good to be able to put a few more faces to forum names and then join them for the final leg. unfo' we were all held up by a rather twee couple in a little Bimmer on the way down the mountain but at least the low speeds and hairpin corners allowed me to glance back and see the R34's in all their glory as they navigated the tricky terrain. more calories were consumed in Berry before everyone went their separate ways and we almost had a run in with a VL club who looked even more out of place than we did in the boutiquey tourist town. and oh yeah mini cruise part way home was awesome, wish i had some video of me catching up to you guys on that inside lane as i swept down from the mountain, glorious views out to the ocean in the background and even better views of all that shiny JDM metal in front of me getting closer and closer..perfect. wanted to stretch the cruise out but i can sit on ten under the limit for only so long dont know how u batch resize all your pics to fit in here but lazy ole me just did a select all upload to fbook and heres the link.. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=273936&id=511696536
  15. i knew it! scoundrels
  16. er thanks BLK180, insightful stuff. i would hazard i can say 'shit' about running over people with a train as we are the first responder, sure the driver cops the hit but then we have to go up and deal with the victim/remains, the inevitable crowd control issues and liason with emergency services when they turn up. As for the week or two off, i never said it was mandatory, just that we are offered full rostered pay for a fortnight or more. who wouldnt take it?
  17. can someone PM me the channel too?
  18. on the flat, not hidden." nice, if only they were all so considerate. Dont know how they do it on those 35 plus degree days, even with aircon on it would be pretty hellish..still kinda hard to muster up to much sympathy. Oh and we know at least one of them is going to hell in a handbasket now (re your pastor Terry ) was sitting behind an orange XR8 at the lights turning onto great western highway just after the eastern creek exit, we get the green arrow left and as soon as we pull out he guns it and pulls into the left lane to let me pass. Probably hoping i would fly past for an easy score, instead i pull in behind him as well nice and slow while the P plater in the raised late model Hilux behind me roars past both of us at a fair clip. Obviously didnt get too far... i trundled on and had an awesome track day only marred by darkness and an errant wall bound Honda DC5.
  19. "sounds like you had a bunch of f#*kwits with your army reserve experience" dont get me started, a Waaahmbulance may need to be called seriously on the one hand i want to harp on about what outrageous bastards one or two of my corporals were but then on the other hand part of me just wants to take a teaspoon of harden the F$# up as we were told to do in training. Your sort of right about the tuesday nights, pretty soft with the drills, map reading and pizza nights hence i was absolutely unprepared for boot camp. From buzz cut as soon as we got off the bus to boots in the ass on the 10k hike 3 weeks in it was non stop in your face bullying and intimidation. Closest i ever came to letting myself just drop fully loaded down a staircase, didnt do it but admitting i wanted to was the only thing that got me out early and gave me some kind of insight into how the people warlord deal with get that way. Cant imagine the horror of growing up in a household half as psychologically draining as BUNA platoon 32, im sure it was not a completely typical experience but the conditions are there for the wrong people to exploit and in hindsight thats what happened in my case. To give it some perspective out of the 42 recruits who started the course only 29 were still in when i left and apparently more went after that. Highest drop out rate ever according to the psych who interviewed me on the way out. anyhoo, sure do appreciate life on the outside a little more now..
  20. paddo Queen st facing bondi SB 51 AE sweet looking gun metal r34 GTR with a pretty wild kit and carbon fibre front bonnet. 16.25
  21. that sounds like at least twice that your brakes failed on you, bet your heart leapt a few feet the second time... love night driving, scary shit but you certainly get a feel for the road as all your other senses are heightened, suddenly every bump and shimmy communicates so much more than ever before. Glad its not typical of track days though, dont think i could handle the stress.. bring on march 5!
  22. heres some pics.. http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=273638&id=511696536 and a quick vid
  23. your in psychiatry and you only have a GTSt like me? your doing it wrong... lol kidding, you probably own a coupla places anyway. um yeah point. topic. on. i have seen some stuff online and in real life i wish i could unsee but you never can unfortunately, also have had family members with mental illness go into care and back again. Quite a lot of scary stuff goes down in those places but from what i hear the staff are doing the best they can with limited resources. props to you Warlord for dealing with it on a daily basis, it must be a thankless task sometimes but im sure society is a lot better off with people like you on the frontline. stay frosty
  24. yeah i used to drive government buses (scary thought huh) and i would see at least a dozen violations before lunchtime. In that light i can see the need for undercover cars as so many people wilfully take their own and others lives in their hands if they have the slightest inkling they will get away with it. The only issue with HWP i have is the hiding in the bushes like the proverbial stagecoach robbers of old, "guns" pointing directly at unsuspecting travellers.. everything else they do from spotting broken tail lights to nabbing drunk drivers is massively important and without a doubt saves lives. So until a bit more commensense comes into the equation and they are focusing on the stuff that is actually dangerous they are always going to have that love/hate relationship with the public.
