The Start Of My Mega Audio Install
bayslideblue replied to BIT SUS's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Aha! I should learn to read things properly. Well can't wait to see it. Cheers -
How did you do the LED parker's? Was it a complete custom job, or is there some sort of kit that will fit? Wouldn't mind doing the same. Cheers-

The Start Of My Mega Audio Install
bayslideblue replied to BIT SUS's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
That is hardcore! Wish I had the dosh to do a system like that, but I'm happy with my low budget number..... for the moment. Where are you going to put the subs? Considering one of your parametere's was; space for bikes. Dunno if you saw my budget sub box making thread, but my setup seems to be prety space efficient. -

Holy sh!tballs that's some serious prep. Basically stripped the interior back to a shell, nice work. Can't wait to see the progress -
This is an email response I got from NZ when I was looking for front shocks for my rwd s2, I found someone in Brizzy who will order them in for me. So I'm gonna do that as soon as I get my tax back Hello, Yes bilsteins are a excellent shock absorber, I just spoke with my product manager and he said try contacting Sydney shock absorbers as they also deal with Bilstein. The part number to quote them will be BE5-2590 Could save a lot of hassle, time and money if you deal with them, if you have no luck with them then by all means contact me and let me know how you get on and I will try my best to help you out Regards, Shane Cooper Autolign Sales Unit 5/99 Carbine Rd Mt Wellington Auckland Ph: 0064 9 574 2286 Fax: 0064 9 574 2275 Free Phone: 0800 868 900 e-mail: sales@autolign.co.nz

How To: Stagea Headunit/stereo Removal
bayslideblue replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
cool cheers, I was thinking I might put it there. I can use the reverse light wire at the rear to power the camera. However what about the trigger wire from the head unit? Where abouts is the reverse light wire in the dash? Is it under the centre console? Which color? (I haven't had a look yet, so it may be obvious to me when I take it out next. I just thought someone may be able to save me the trouble) Thanks again -
How To: Stagea Headunit/stereo Removal
bayslideblue replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
I just installed a cd/dvd/tv unit as well and I am wanting to hook up a reversing camera. Does anyone know which wire I need to attach the unit to to switch to the camera when I hit reverse? Cheers -
I second that. I am keen to get this done as well.

Buyer's Guide - The Nissan C34 Stagea
bayslideblue replied to GoldZilla's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
Yes it is a nice colour, as I'm sure you know. Gets some good comments, and as far as I know there one other on this form "greenghost" i think. So definately not too many around. Which I'm happy about. Yeah the front bar is sweet, I've got it off at the moment thought cos it's too low. I need to get 20's or jack up the suspension to make it practical. I like the idea of 20's -
Translated Workshop Manual M35 & C34

c34 now up to 58 cheers -
Cool cheers mate, was a good read. probably should have read something like that before doing the install . My vents will not be working efficiently as they are not quite far enough away from the wall. As for for there being no back on the box's it won't cancel out, if it's not air tight it will just not resonate properly (from what I can gather). It states in that doc that noise cancelling only occurs with free air subs. Which mine aren't, so should be right there. As for having the right amount of space I did a rough estimate of the total air space within the box and came up with 30.15 litre's. That's not minus the sub or the sub and amp on the amp side. But i would imagine that on the side without the amp it would have at least 25lt of air space, which should be sufficient going by nismor32's recomendations for his 12"s. However on the side with the amp and wiring in it I would imagine that it would come under that mark. I don't think that it's enough to make me chage the size of the box though, it still seems pretty close to optimal but not perfect. Which is ok with me. THanks for the help

Cheers mate! Yeah I was wondering about what he meant by the ATESSA bottle, it's an rs. So yeah rwd, don't need to worry bout that. There are vent holes in the top at the back, the amp side has an exhaust fan in it though. I was wondering though some of the guys commenting further up said that you shouldn't let the sound waves from the back of the sub mix with those from the front. So I was wondering how do vents work with that theory? Seems to work pretty well at the moment, the whole car vibrates with the bass . I might try some wadding in all the sides to make it completely air tight to see what the difference is though. thanks again, Dave-

CHeers for the comments and the advice fella's- Excuse me for being a complete noob, but what is the "ATESSA bottle" ? As for making the boxes bigger to improve sound quality. Despite the fact that it's a pretty clear nice sounding system, after listening today I could gather that the potential of the subs is not being reached. So it may be worth my while as you say to extend the size of the boxes to the correct capacity. However I'm not sure if I wanna sacrifice the neat line that they sit in behind the strut tower. Finding out exactly how much more room they need would be a good start though. Thanks again, Dave-

Hmm interesting I didn't know that. Do you think the fact that they are tight against the side wall would be enough? Cheers

I was gonna add this on to someone else's old sub thread, but I thought I might make my own. Hope this is ok? I recently purchased a 2000 rs stagea and found that the front speakers were blown. So that needed to be corrected. I am a little cheap so I was looking on ebay and wasn't having much luck. So I went to cash converters, which I never do. And found two new door speakers, and right next to it were two subs. So I grabbed them and an amp. And my project started. I searched for a couple of boxes that would fit but couldn't find anything, so off to bunnings I went. I wanted something cheap, but not crap. So this is what I started with; two (soon to be four) brand new sony xplod 200w 3-way 6.5" - rrp $70-80 got em for $25 two used (good cond) sony xplod 1000w sub's - rrp $120 each got em for $40 each one used clarion apx4240 400w amp - rrp $290 got it for $45 (all after a bit of bartering with the manager ;-) MDF- $23 Carpet- $19 glue & screws - $15 one cheap 12" box reatails at $70, dunno how much custom's would cost? Total cost $197 and a weekend of my time And I just used the Kenwood head unit that was in there, gonna upgrade to dvd/gps later. So I wanted bass, but I also wanted space so this is what I decided on; got the design cut some mdf. I don't have a shed, so the lounge room had to suffice! I also don't have a jigsaw, so this was all cut by hand! front top and bottom, no back for ventilation now as I wanted as much space as possible I decided to put the amp on the inside of the box, but it needed some ventalation. So I took the 12v exhaust fan off the power transformer of an old PC! cutting out the carpet carpet glued on and sub in amp tucked in behind, tight fit! spaghetti time! There was a previous stereo install that had been removed, but unfortunately I couldn't use much of the left over spaghetti spaghetti to the back spaghetti to the side BYE BYE SPAGHETTI! NOw to neatly secure them using an L shaped bracket and the convienntly placed lug on the interior panel under th back window The finished product just a few mill. clearence. Perfect. and the same with the luggage cover Well that's the first project on my new car complete! Can't wait to do the next one. Big thanks to alexcim for the stereo removal guide in the DIY section, and the SAU forum for all handy hints. Hope this might inspire/help someone else. Let me know what you think, Cheers, Dave-

Yeah but rs4 fronts are a shelf item, no one here stocks rwd spec front suspension. I've found a few shops in NZ that stock them, but I was quoted $320 each and then I would have to ship em over. I'll keep lookin, but this is the cheapest I've found so far. Cheers
-
Just an update on rwd spec options. Have had lots of help from a few others who have rwd's. But I've found a shop in brizzy "southside supspension" who will order me in some bilstiens to fit the front for $350 a pop. Which seems like the cheapest option for quality supsension, so I think I'm gonna go with that.

I'm no expert but I've been doing a lot of research on this subject lately. I got a rwd rs too, and yes the suspension is different. As far as I'm aware you can't use any skyline gear. Apparently it is possible to use modified sylvia shocks. There are several brands that make aftermarket bits for the wc34 rwd's, s-tune, tien, kyg. I have contacted several people in Aus and I'm looking in to getting some bilstiens from the aus supplier, failing that I will order from NZ. Apparently a laurel is the only thing that will bolt directly in. But that doesn't really help with availabilty. Hope that helps

No other remotes, only other remote is central locking on the key. I did try pushing the start button several times, with various time lapses. But I will try again. There is also a button in the middle, I'm not sure what it's supposed to do, when I push it the red light above it flashes intermitantly for a few seconds. If I push the start button whilst the light is flashing the light stays on without flashing for a few seconds. I deduce that perhaps the middle switch is to arm the remote start. Would this be plausible? However when I tried this it still did not work. I also tried it with the car unlocked, and siting inside. Nada. I did find the master switch, and I tried the remote start with it in both positions (up and down). And still nothing. I will try all these things again, just to double check. But failing that, should I just give up?..........No there must be a way! Cheers

Far as I know there's no immobiliser, the bloke I bought it off hadn't fitted anything to it. And he got it from an importer, and the import ad says nothing about an immobiliser. Or an alarm for that matter. . As you may have already guessed I am, what I believe is classified as, a noob! So here's a pick of what I've got. This add was made in January last year, that's when he bought it. And I got it for $9900 Thanks for your help

Changed the battery and flicked the switch, still no go on the remote start. Do you think it may be a faulty unit? How would I go about testing or replacing it?

Wtb: Front Bar For Series 2 Stagea, Also Cargo Net.
bayslideblue replied to 32TAXI's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
dunno bout second hand, but I reckon this is your best bet for aftermarket. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/St...ap-t254842.html -
That was my first thought, no I haven't yet. The light comes on on the remote starter, no beep tho. Should probly change the batteries first and then start looking elsewhere. CHeers

Hmmm yes as I found out today. Well Gorgasm pm'd me some info, so maybe once I start to get mine sorted I could start a post for rwd spec stags...

I've read through this whole thread and haven't been able to find much info on rwd spec. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if I have any other option other than to order either tein or s-tune set from japan. Had a bloke look at it today he said there was nothin he could find for me. I'd either have to order from japan or maybe NZ. Is this true?
