  1. checked mine last night and all four tails brighten up when i brake, plus the small light top of boot lights up. is that a standard thing on gtt? or is it gtt 4 door or has mine been modified i wonder??? I know i didnt do it... Pic below any help???
  2. sounds to me like a whole lot of pussy footing about here. The cruise has been arranged, the numbers confirmed, so its on regardless. Ok so it could rain, or perhaps even hail, but how that differs from any other day i dont know if its does we improvise and find cover. Good to see some people setting up contact if it does fall down, but lets not all get carried away with the nerves here, coz all that does is throw a shadow over months of hard work and planning. Sack up boys n girls, unless its a big reason i cant see an event of this magnitude getting canned. Props to the oganisers im sure it'll all turn out fine
  3. im thinking theres nothing anyone would wanna see on my ride so i wont worry about showing and shining and just enjoy the cruise. - unless theres a 4 door group needing support from a relatively stock one???
  4. can i get a form to fill in and join up at the cruise this weekend??? who do i ask?
  5. these things are an awesome product. Mate of mine has one on his evo coupe and its perfect for the quiet times and the obnoxious ones. Its tuned for open as i understand it and when closed makes very little difference to the cars running other than sound. Its a mild increase in back pressure so it's most likely that only effect is a slightly lower response on boost cut in (Ie a poofteenth of a second of lag) But dont be fooled the mufflers are very quickly going to become illegal if they arent already. Anything that enables you to change exhaust note is bound to be illegal as you can go from adr compliant to not in the push of a button.
  6. Cheers mate. All was good i fixed it that arvo. The trim clips were easy with small screwy to lift the centre out a bit then pull the whole clip out. The stop tails had gone on 3 out of 4 so i replaced all 4. The 4th was on its way too so i suspect it was just an age thing. For anyone wondering with the r34 gtt 4 door, it doesnt require you to take the light off as the globes are all easy removal once you peel the carpet back. See pics. Oh and fyi, the globes were $12.50 per pair at autobarn.
  7. Mate i just found their site while googling and rang em up. Spoke to rob n boom its on its way. Should arrive today or tomorrow at last check as its definately been dispatched. UPDATE: Sounds I got for $490 total the Alpine deck below, the tray, the r34 aerial adaptor, the iphone aux cord, and the skyline dash surrounds. Newcastle Pro Sound had a sweet deal on this deck so they sold out in days... CF bonnet arrived yesterday and i put her on post haste! I had some troubles with the latch as the hook seems to have been cast about 4-5mm too high for the factory bonnet latch but some minor extension of the bonnet release mechanism bracket had that fixed easy as. Pics to show what i mean with the hook part on the bonnet. No bonnet pins for me thanks... She sits a tad proud at the rear to assist in heat flow out the back of the bonnet im guessing, which was a little dissapointing but otherwise im stoked with the look. Old Bonnet - For sale I'll be selling the old bonnet for anyone who might be interested.
  8. from what i saw guys a few people may have braved the weather. The celica club had a few up and there was something of a nissan contingent too, but im afraid the weather scared everyone away. I went in for a little while then kept cruising.
  9. i cant believe it had to be asked, but spose better than not asking. might i also add dean you should check it regularly. I check mine when i wash her usually as habit, along with coolant levels, washer bottle, power steer and glance over brake fluid etc. Its always better to check it before problems develop, coz its usually one of your first signs somethings going wrong. Other than an automatic transmission and power steer almost every fluid on your car is DESIGNED to be checked cold. The dipstick is not designed to allow for heat expansion as its a poofteenth effect. WHY cold and after sitting for a while? Coz its a true reading as almost all the oil has dropped back to the engines sump.
  10. thankyou ash, great help! i dont have a user manual yet, had a quick look last night in dark and noticed the whole bootis lined so i gotta get that out, now knowing whats next is a great help. What globes were they? normal ones??? oh and ask a silly question before i do it, is there an easy way to release the trim clips???
  11. Im with you mate. Starting to suspect mine and wondering where to go for one that wont cost an arm and a leg just coz it has nissan stamped on it.
  12. im in guys, me n the mrs will be looking to enjoy a nice day away from the kids and some nice skylines! very excited! I'll join the newi crew at wyong and cruise down with them.
  13. yeah im in guys. pretty keen to see some hot skylines and more than happy to cruise with the newi crew. I'll pm you my mobile number mick and meet you at wyong at 8am.
  14. take it to a mechanic. an ecu check would be a good start mate so thats why i say the mechanic. But also, i'd be checking the fuel since it was only just filled could be crappy fuel, and id also be checking the fuel filter isnt choked up. If i had a dollar for every car i saw running off song simply coz no one thought to change the fuel filter i'd have at least $15.... makes u wonder how many a mechanic see's??? hundreds or maybe thousands? Mechanic after visit - "That'll be $600 thanks mate, she's had a full tune up now"
  15. thanks guys for clearing it up. I too was considering it but knowing little about the r34's i waited to see if i tripped over this type of thread before asking too seriously. I noticed the different lines and shape in the rear but wasnt sure if there was any unknown or rarely done way of interchanging them. Now that ive gotten used to the rear lights of the gtt 4 door im pretty happy with em, maybe some light custom work later perhaps...
  16. that custom rear bar is proving a little more difficult than they had expected, so its arriving this thursday by the looks of it. The bonnet should arrive tomorrow, so i'll have it on for the weekend, but the kit will have to wait. Two to 3 weeks i'll have it painted n fitted. Gives me time to get the stereo in and think about my colour more. Im considering a full respray in something much brighter, but im not sure. gotta consult the funds once i sell the original bonnet and bumpers plus k-rud helps me out etc etc...
  17. definately a fan of the c west lines and the sleek look of it for sure. I love the jdl kit too, but the full one was over done for me. Always annoying though theres never much around in 4 door and there's no shortage of hot combo's for the 2 door. Thats a good thing for a guy like me though.
  18. I've given it some thought, TR11KY my current username is what im known as in my other car, My skyline and hence what i'll be known as here is STYLN, so could i graciously ask admin to change my username to "STYLN" please. Cheers
  19. now thats an out of the ordinary kit right there! wild look for sure! But it reaks of overdone to me as some of the lines match poorly, giving it the batman look. I know its a wide body kit and they tend to do that, but i think its the upper door line and the mix between sharp edges and curves at seemingly random places thats turning me off saying its top notch! What do you think Jap Muscle??? are ya digging the flow line near the wing mirrors??? One things for sure that right there would turn heads everywhere it went!
  20. Thought id share my knowledge in an ever extensive thread of tips n tricks, hits n misses. PAINT Ive been washing with dawn detergent first, then into shed for -meguires paint cleaner -meguires deep crystal polish -then wax off with mothers carnauba wax After reading and hearing much about claying im gettin keen to give it a crack instead of paint cleaner. There's no doubt its the best when done right, im just scared i'll stuff it up... Where my efforts go is usually in between waxes and polishings. I wash regularly (once a week, sometimes fortnightly if im slack) and garage is a must. I try not to park near tree's during the day to avoid birds n that, i tryn keep her away from heavy dust sources like coal plants and refineries where i can help it. If it gets wet i dont fuss but i tryn hose it if its a bad road grimy day before i garage it. But my biggy is when i wash it. I wash once with a normal wash like mothers (the gentle one that doesnt hurt wax), then follow up by washing again with a clean sponge or mit and clean water with high sudsed wash n wax (carnauba based). Then i chamois down with meguires chamois and microfibre cloth the windows & trims, chamois down (with another cheaper one) the door & boot jams. CHROME, STAINLESS & ALLOY Autosol is ok for the first few polishes to get the shine going, but it just dies in the arse soon as it gets wet so i dont continue using it once i get the mirror up. I use what the truckies have been using for years. California Customs PURPLE polish. It locks in the shine and holds it even when it gets wet for almost 3 times longer than autosol. Means im never scared to go out on a wet day. I also have the acid prep in the same brand for recovering dull or scaley alloy. Its not usually needed but when starting out its a great start. CLEAR PLASTICS, GLASS & CLEAR COATED CARBON FIBRE same brand again (Callifornia Customs), a product called M-RonGlass. very light polish that takes plastics and glass back without abrasive swirling. Hopefully it'll work on those headlights of mine (with the oily film they seem to get????) TRIMS Meguires shine is my choice. Its not a bad smell, its a classy shine, not a black shoe polish look, and its hard wearing once you've gone a few times. TYRES Eagle one with wipes or meguires hot shine. Dont like foams these days coz they just burn through your pocket faster than you can say "can i have another can!" Hope some of it helps someone.
  21. Decided not to noob up and start a new thread with the same questions and info. From my ride thread. Bodykit is ordered. Im awaiting its delivery any day. I got the bomex front bar, a modified bomex rear bar for 4 door application, and a set of modified gtr skirts. Bonnet arrives today - carbon of course. Once its painted and fitted that may do me for a while. See how the bug hits me. im already keen on changing tail lights for the gtr version thats for sure so im sure knowing me it'll be a matter of time before it gets out of hand... Here's my understanding of bodykits for r34 and inparticular 4 door versions from my researchings over the last few weeks... East bear - available at a very high price but a solid look, very boxed but still agressive. Uras - its common as hell IMO and is basically the kit available on most rides out there, simply skirting off the bumper, is not custom enough for me. if you can buy it on ebay its hardly a one off... Bomex/C West - bit of a blurry line as to whats what but in the 4 door only the front bars available so far. Im not a fan of the snow plow look so i started searching suppliers to see what else is around in oz. Ordering my kit: As i understand it the front bars on the 4 door gtt are no different to any other 2 door gtt, so the bomex was an easy choice for me. As was the carbon bonnet. They checked into it to be sure and confirmed the front bars and bonnet are same. The side skirts require stretching on my guys advice and he just so happened to have a set of stretched r34 gtr ones available. Hopefully they turn out nicely. The rear bar of course being different was chopped and adjusted to suit and again in my case was attainable as it was lying around almost done. Mines been symettrically matched and the flutes removed so it could be an interesting look. Hopefully this will start a wave of kits based on the 4 door model r34 but who knows it could all go pear shaped and i end up with some lines that dont mesh right, or a kit thats just not suited to the shape of the 4 door looking forced or wrapped into position. Im a big fan of the 4 door so far as its a commonly overlooked model, thats IMO got styling appeal all of its own... Fingers crossed it works out. The wheels are my next pondering, im just not sure how they'll end up lookin after it's done...
  22. thats not the word i had in mind. im just not a huge fan of the uras kit, though the bn version makes it a little better... fab check out fibrecrazy.com mate ;-)
  23. rob at fibrecrazy.com is hookin it up to be delivered any day. Thanks man i appreciate the support! seems my intro thread may have gotten me off on the wrong foot perhaps??? LOL
