  1. wel, im on a tight budget, due to my mortgage. id be happy to pay about $500. but for that money id want something pretty good. i know my budget is narrowing down the list of alarms, but i dont want to spend much more.
  2. im looking at getting an alarm put in my 33 gts-t.. im not sure with anything though.! a few questions: 1)whats a important accesory with the alarms? 2)dificulty to instal? 3)price range (for a decent one) im after one that beeps on a remote (so i know its going off when im in the shops, etc), i also want it with immobilisor. and preferably a remote start (to warm her up).. an alarm that isnt too sensetive would be good too.
  3. my HICAS light is always on, but thats because a guy disconnected the wires or something.. where abouts are the wires located? near the battery in the boot? cheers.
  4. ok, thanks.. cheers for everyone who has helped me. im happier if i stay on the right side of the law, (not that i hate modifying cars) but when your young and look even younger it seems the cops pul you over a tad more. any defects latly?
  5. just want to know how to remove a turbo timer?.. can you just rip it out (cut the wires)? or will that affect igntion? im wanting to get rid of my turbo timer and boost guage. make my car look more stock.!
  6. yeah i noticed abit of oil on the side of the head, and though i might try tightening the bolts before i tryed something else.. also went over the enging and checked every nut and bolt to see it was ok, i found one that was leaking oil under the ungine, i tightened it and the leak is no longer there. im still new to turbo'd engines, and this is the first car im trying to look after (i trashed/thrashed every other one)
  7. thanks mate, i was just about to start a thread about this.. cheers.
  8. thatd be good mitch.. he have worless flash transmitters i take it? thatd be good for sunset shots. id be keen if i could get some 10+ megapixel shots.. want some posters printed for my new house.. id love to come to this one.. but only able on a saturday, due to a busy schedual at the time being.
  9. how do you change the oil on the gear box?.. were abouts is the dipstick located? etc.. my car aint got a manual.
  10. yeah i did, oops. doesnt help being new to jap cars. still learning about them and researching and that. everyone starts somewere.
  11. im confused too.. i need to change the oil in my 95 r33 gtst.. i want something that warms up quiker on cold starts, like so you dont have to wait as long. i drive normal speed limits, dont thrash it, just take off quik every now and then and overtake every now and then. so no thrashing, just a rare kick to get my heart pounding again. what would you people recomend? oh and also, oil filter? cheers.
  12. wouldnt it be cheaper to put in a whole new enigne in it? maybe not as good as your previous one.. but just to get the car going again.. just an option.
  13. my intercooler is a decent size, like its abit bigger then my radiator.. and they didnt cut the reo bar.. just abit of the radiator support.. only thing they cut on reo bar was a hole for the pipes.
  14. i use premium.. not the ultimate.. but the one in between the regular and ultimate.. 95 i think? thats what i ran it on for ages. and goes ok.. for me.
  15. im needing help also.. everytime my speedo says im doing the limit everyone overtakes me.. so i do like 5 kays extra to keep up. haha
  16. im really confused. as i have the same problem as the guy who started this topic.. i have a 95 gtst r33.. and it needs a oil change.. what oil should i use? and gear box?
  17. gee, i had the same problem, seen abit of oil lea coming from the gasket.. thought it wasnt a normal thing on skylines..
  18. because if it was made for a 33 im guessing they wouldnt have cut that radiator support.
  19. ill look into that.. and maybe sell my greddy intercooler and get one put on thats made for a r33.. i dont like the thought of defects.. even though any car is defectable.
  20. toyota and nissan are best brands, followed by honda etc.. every ford owner i have spoken to has had problems with the trans,. some people with the brakes.. not 100% sure about holdens, because all the commodore owners i know have older commodores, and theyre bullet proof, they get thrashed every day and still get you home. in the end its a personal opinion, you drive wha you like cos you pay for it.! lets put it this way.. jap cars look more expensive then holdens, like my 95 model skyline looks better then the vz commodores costing 3 grand extra.!
  21. cheers mate.. i had a look, and the pipe is coming from the side of the washer bottle.. just a small whole to fit that in.. and also that cross bar that holds the radiator up.. it has been cut in front of the radiator where it goes towards the front bumperbar. it looks like i can just bolt on another cross bar thats holding up the radiator. it doesnt look like a shonky job. but you can get certificates if you get defectd?
  22. depends how you drive, what you look like (if you look young, or abit rough(no offense)).. if the exhaust is too loud, in which case you could change up a gear so its not reving as hard if possible.. ive only gotten pulled over once and that was because i was doing 24 kays over the limit (oops(regret getting that fine)).. but other then that ive been followed many many times, i think the cops just check your rego, etc.. if your driving and look hell sketchy/trippy/suspicious, then they will pull you over. also depends who is in the car with you and what time your driving.. but then again, why do we drive 'sports' cars if we dont want to get pulled over? why not drive a holden or ford if you hate getting pulled over. and as for defects, cops can and will defect you if they want even if your car is stock. my uncle got his bike defected because his indicators were too high (they were stock) so he had to get them custom made abit lower and go through regency..
  23. changing the oil from a car isnt hard work, but waiting for the oil to empty is bloody boring.!
  24. i wouldnt worry about the boost controler mate, there are people put there like me with a few more mods.. ones that cost money to remove/fix. my turbo timer is hidden, park the car were it isnt as visible, and wait in the car until the car turns itself off.. ive got a boost controller but its unnattached, and its staying that way, haha
  25. mine is with just cars.. only one who would insure me at my age with turbo and slight mods.. 20 yrs/old premium.. 1505 per year excess.. 900 value insured 13500 (i payed alot less than that) looking into alarms, which will also reduce them prices.
