  6. you sure you've got all the clips back on? cuz i replaced my gearboot with one of the ones from the group buy and it hasnt popped off since, i suggest looking over the bottom again to see if all the clips are still there (the little metal rings) if not you'll have to find some to replace the one's youve lost
  7. dude! that vinyl looks shit hot! you've inspired me to do my car now hahaha, will be doing door pillars and interior - hopefully itll look good on a sedan
  8. try and find a can of duplicolour metal cast, they have an anodized red that looks pretty wicked you'll have to ring around to try and find it though, i found some at my local supercheap
  9. yeah man, normally when they are measuring/trimming it before they stick it down, they put it on the outside and trace the line around the brake light. so they shouldnt have removed it at all tell them they can do the rear window again and pay for you to get the brake light fixed back to the window
  10. duly noted
  11. hey all, just wondering if anyone knew what type of paint they used for dash surround & the drivers window switch its kinda like a texture type, mines had it and gone all manky, so just want to respray any help appreciated. Cheers Ben
  12. scored the black aluminium one for xmas from the mrs, feels pretty sweet compared to the pos that was on that car previously. a way to get round the knob being too hot is keep your sunglass cleaner bag on hand in your car , my brother just to do that in his old sil, now i keep one on hand just in case
  13. you could prob get one from overseas - look up car amp with optical input in google
  14. depends on what you want they can range anywhere from $100 (not including installation), You can give mongoose a call (not sure on how much they charge for their alarms), or JB hifi, wow sight sound, autobarn, supercheap. you want one that atleast conforms to insurance standards, so i'd be speaking to your insurance company to see what they require to be covered, then go to the shops and tell them what your insurance company require.
  15. i couldn't see too much that states information about the time of calibration of the radar. just that it needs to be calibrated by a certified company it references, that if a police officer hasn't used a radar gun in the last 12 months, they need to sit for a re-examination to make sure they are competent with the device and how to use it correctly (not just as simple as point and capture speed, other factors needs to be applied) as specifed by the manufacturer. but in saying that, by asking for all these papers of "recalibration" "how long ago did you use the radar gun officer" etc etc will most likely see you bent over and lubed up by the long arm of the law.... if your contesting a couple of k's over the above isn't worth it, accept you were speeding and move along.
  16. somewhere in the Australian Standards it would mention that sort of information, ill have a look when i get home, the old man has a copy of them

  18. even with them both up as far as possible, the middle of the bonnet is the part that still has movement.
  19. cheers for that. yeah the 33's have the 1 on both sides however, even after adjusting these, there was still movement, is there meant to be one in the middle?? this is the area which is moving about (right infront of the radiator cap)
  20. hey all, ive noticed that my bonnet is starting to "chatter" while driving on the highway, it catches fine and closes fine however there is a bit of movement while the bonnet is closed. i'm hoping there is maybe a nut/screw of some sort that might need a tighten, am i heading in the right area? any help appreciated. Cheers Ben
  21. not quite http://www.goldencasket.com/how_to_play/systems.asp
  22. read up on the australian standards for hand held radar guns that the police use. that should tell you all the info you need but why are you trying to contest 3klms inaccuracy? - disregaurd that you could proberbly get off in court due to the police writing down your on opens when your actually on your P's - that might be your only ground to stand on, you'll still cop the 20k's over speeding fine
  23. you can either do what noone suggested, or get your existing slave cylinder bored out & re-sleaved. (something my mech told me after i had purchased the nismo big slave) saving yourself a bit of coin I went from having a clutch which was stupidly heavy, to one that is now managable
  24. pedal pushed in - noise starts, pedal out - noise stops $300 i got quoted ($900 from another mob who ummm and ahhh'd and basically werent too keen to do it) so pays to shop around)- yes the transmission has to come off to swap it over
  25. about 30-40 bucks delivered from justjap (forum trader) i got the same problem with mine, rang up a few mobile mechs and a few workshops and they wanted to charge me anywhere from 80-110 just for the bearing, then labour to swap it over
